Chapter 08
She's unsure if she will ever get the chance to use her powers in foreign worlds... But if she were to, she fears the consequences that will befall her in a place that isn’t her home.
Thinking of the possibility of dying alone after she is given a second chance, she wonders how her family she left behind are doing after hearing of the annihilation of the Elaxi’s ruling family.
She shook her head violently. She shouldn't be dwindling about these kinds of thoughts in a situation where she might be caught.
She smacks her cheeks, glaring at the innocent wall with intense hatred. She shouldn't make her thoughts wander but rather focus on her certain situation. She places her hands on the wall as she leans out of the corner. She first examines her surroundings before moving forward to the next hall.
Finally out, she is able to get out of sight of the eyes that were surveying the area, alert to any slight noise. Fortunately for her, she knows how to steady her steps and sneak away quietly.
Nearing the gate, she catches sight of six people roaming around.
'How strange...'
As expected. Not only are knights and guards patrolling the mansion, but the gate, which was once guarded by only two guards, has now been multiplied by three.
"Looks like I need to go to that place..."
She quietly mutters to herself, stepping away from the tree and stretches her hand to her back. Suddenly there was a grip onto her shoulder, giving her the chills. Arianna stretches her leg forward with force, trying to pull away from whoevers grip.
'This damn weak body! Move!!'
Before she could do anything against the person who had grabbed both of her shoulders, she felt a sting of pain. Soon, black spots filled her vision, and she lost consciousness.
———
Arianna blinks, wincing in pain. She tried to rub her temples in frustration but found her hands too weak to use force. She was inwardly surprised but quickly calmed down.
"You're finally up."
She looks up to find icy blue eyes staring down at her. She couldn't help but feel a chill running down her spine feeling the cold aura that the man standing in front of her was releasing.
'This man...'
He had his slicked-back charcoal hair into a small ponytail and a few of his locks dangle at the side of his face. Due to the quality of his luxurious clothes, you can tell he is a high ranked aristocrat.
Though his handsome appearance took away her breath, she felt a sense of familiarity which made her think for a moment reaching a single conclusion.
'I can't believe I just hit the jackpot!'
She doesn't know if she should be happy or worried about her current situation. But for now, she was finally able to meet the man she had wanted to meet ever since she received her mission’s goal.
'The target to fulfill my mission, Jason Raynott! In other words the current Duke of the Raynott Dukedom.'
She felt her blood boil with excitement. She couldn't help but feel a strong desire to finish this as soon as possible in order to find her siblings' soul vessels.
"Calm. Ria, you need to keep your cool down if you want to safely achieve what you want."
Right. She must relax and maintain a neutral expression. If she wants this to be over quickly, she must have a perfect mask, not a cracked one. Nobody wants to be calculated by someone who has the potential to sabotage their plans. She needs to get her act together.
Arianna looks up with a fearful expression, hesitant to speak up.
"...My apologies, master... I'm awake..."
Hearing the tremble from her voice, he silently points his signal to what seems to be a knight whois a few inches taller than him. A seat was bestowed to him as he sat down, calmly watching her if she were to suddenly make a move.
He leans his head on his hand as he crosses his legs, looking down upon her with a prideful look. She hasn't seen that kind of expression looking down on her in a long time. And she was supposed to be giving this person the best time and end of their life?
'How unfortunate. But it's to be expected as he was once but a child in power which only flued him.'
