Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2411 Run

Chapter 2411  Run

ROARRR!!

The Crimson Dragon's bellow echoed like thunder, each reverberation shaking the air around them. Emery clenched his jaw as he sprinted across the rugged terrain, his massive form leaping from rock to rock with two Grand Magus cradled securely in his arms. Every second mattered, but the dragon's relentless pursuit was overwhelming. Each beat of its massive wings closed the distance between them, and its fiery breath lit up the horizon. A glowing fireball streaked toward them, and Grand Magus Miriel reacted just in time. Raising her hand, she cast her Mirror Barrier, deflecting the explosive blast. The resulting shockwave slowed their momentum, but Emery pressed on, weaving through rocky outcrops and using the terrain to his advantage. Princess Miriel continued casting barriers, desperately trying to buy them time, but her spells weren't strong enough. Each time the dragon collided with her crystalline constructs, they shattered into glittering fragments, unable to withstand the beast's brute force. "It's diving in!!!" Miriel's voice was shrill with panic as the dragon tucked its wings, preparing for a devastating strike from above. Emery didn't flinch. Instead of dodging immediately, he calculated his timing and waited until the last possible moment before launching himself into the air with a powerful leap. BOOOMMMM!!

The Crimson Dragon crashed into the ground with earth-shaking force, its massive bulk sending debris flying in all directions. Emery landed safely atop a jagged rock formation, using the height advantage to survey the situation. Emery's heart raced as he blinked forward, leaping through the rugged terrain in desperate bursts of spatial magic. Each blink strained his core, but it was the only way to create distance from the relentless Crimson Dragon.

ROARRR!!

The deafening cry shattered the air behind him, its raw power disrupting the delicate flow of Emery's spells. He stumbled mid-blink, tumbling forward before catching himself on a jagged boulder.

Emery managed to cover 20 miles in his rapid jumps, but it was far from enough. The dragon's pursuit was relentless, and soon enough, the massive beast was on him again. Just when the weight of the situation seemed unbearable, the crystal beacon given to him by Grand Magus Dopa began to blink, signaling a response to the distress signal he had activated as soon as they'd broken out of the barrier.

[Reinforcement on the way, ETA 30 minutes.]

"Thirty minutes!? We might not be alive in ten!" Princess Miriel's voice cracked with panic, but her words faltered, realizing the gravity of the situation.

The distress signal had been sent, but the prolonged response time was likely because they were waiting for the arrival of multiple two-cosmos Grand Magus—or possibly even General Wayne himself—someone with the power to challenge the legendary dark elf.

"That damn beast is here again!!" Princess Miriel shouted, her voice tinged with both frustration and panic.

Once more, her mirror barriers managed to deflect the incoming fireballs, but they could do little to stop the Dragon's relentless charge. This time, the beast had learned from its previous mistake and was no longer fooled by Emery's last-second dodges. Though he narrowly avoided its massive jaws, he couldn't evade the colossal tail sweeping in behind it. BAAMM!!!

The impact sent Emery flying a dozen meters, his body slamming into the rocky terrain. Pain surged through him. He staggered to his feet, already preparing for the next attack when a weak voice interrupted him.

"Let me hold this beast... My Lady, You must escape!" Grand Magus Archie, pale and barely standing, was clutching his shattered sword as he spoke.

"No, Archi! You'll—" Not willing to waste their precious time in drama, Emery silenced them both with a sharp tone "No! Follow my plan, and no one needs to die!"

Emery called for the two Grand Magus to delay the dragon while he enacted his plan. He couldn't rely on brute force against a creature like this. It was time to fight with wits.

He let out a slow breath and deactivated his primal form, the familiar rush of power fading as his body returned to normal.

As Emery suppressed the primal beast within himself, he reached out with his mind. "Twik, come help!" he called out to his loyal companion.

"Kuang ku ku!" Twik responded, and the plant creature came out from his domain.

The situation was dire—Grand Magus Archie was on the verge of being crushed beneath the Crimson Dragon's claws, its fiery breath already pooling within its throat. Then it came—a surge of glowing roots erupted from the ground, winding around the dragon's limbs and halting its charge. The beast roared in fury, flames spilling out as it struggled against the luminous vines. Both Grand Magus Miriel and Archie stared in disbelief. They watched as Emery began to merge with Twik. His body glowed faintly green as roots and vines intertwined with his limbs, a living armor of nature enveloping him. His eyes shimmered with emerald light, and his aura transformed into something vibrant—a living embodiment of nature.

It was his [Plant Mastery - Fusion] that allowed such a feat. Emery wasted no time. He slammed his hands into the ground, sending a cascade of roots surging across the desert sands. With the boost from his [Elysian Vembrace], the barren landscape transformed—lush, tangled greenery spread rapidly, capturing the Crimson Dragon's legs. As the vines tightened, he raised his other hand and cast a powerful water spell, summoning a swirling mist that blanketed the battlefield.

The combination of spells was as strategic as it was overwhelming. The entangling roots immobilized the dragon's massive body, while the mist obscured its vision, leaving it thrashing blindly.

To counter, The dragon unleashed an inferno, scorching everything in its path. The massive, fiery torrent turned the surrounding landscape into a charred wasteland. Despite its powerful assault, the roots and vines holding it back were burned away, yet by the time the dragon broke free, Emery and the two Grand Magus were gone—vanished without a trace

"ROAAARR!!!!"

The dragon's rage was palpable, its massive form sweeping across the skies, its red eyes scanning the land with murderous intent. It circled above, its roars echoing through the desert as it hunted for its prey. But Emery, with the two Grand Magus in tow, was already underground, hidden from sight.

Using his mastery of nature, he had dug deep into the sands, creating a concealed passage. The earth swallowed them whole as Emery skillfully manipulated the land, creating a tunnel that spiraled down and out of the dragon's line of sight. This was the most viable strategy for survival. Emery knew that attempting to face the dragon and the overwhelming elven forces head-on would only end in disaster. Instead, he chose the safer option—to retreat into the depths of the underground, where the dragon's airborne advantages would be nullified.
