Chapter 240: Destroy The Cursed (57)
The first pebble was upon her instantly, aimed straight for her head. Reflexively, she jerked her neck aside at the very last instant. The projectile screamed past, grazing her aura. The sonic ripple it released was so fierce it rattled her bones, leaving her pale.
The sheer force behind even one pebble was greater than most destructive spells she had seen in her life.
And now—thousands more were coming.
The sky itself turned into a storm of stone bullets.
Blue lightning erupted violently around her, her figure vanishing from sight. To those watching from below, she became nothing more than jagged streaks of azure electricity darting chaotically through the air—yet even at her supreme speed, the storm pursued her relentlessly.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Pah! Boom! Boom! Pah!
Each pebble tore through the sky like a missile, leaving trails of shockwaves. The sound of their barrage shook the heavens.
Far below, Little One tilted his head back, confusion and unease etched into his small features. "Hey, Balor… is it just me, or does it look like your sister might actually be in danger?"
Balor's eyes narrowed sharply. His sister was strong—immensely strong—but that didn't matter. He couldn't shake off the sickening dread gnawing at his bones, an instinct telling him something was terribly wrong.
He clenched his fists. "We're going."
Without hesitation, Balor stepped into the void, his body vanishing as he surged upward.
Little One's face twisted with fatigue. He had already been fighting for hours, exhaustion weighing heavily on him. His instincts screamed to rest.
But against his better judgment, the green suit flared once again, and his form shrank back into its tiny state. He took flight after Balor, streaking toward the chaos above.
Meanwhile, high in the air, Elexa was being swallowed by a storm of death. Each pebble curved, twisted, and corrected its course midflight, like thousands of missiles tracking her every movement.
Her speed was unmatched—but even lightning could not escape a sky filled with endless stone.
Even with her supreme speed, Elexa could not outrun the barrage.
Boom! Boom! Pah!—a storm of pebbles, each one hurled with the weight of a boulder, crashed into her body.
One struck her abdomen with crushing force. Her face twisted, and she coughed up a mouthful of blood that splattered against the dirt.
The electricity that cloaked her frame dimmed, flickering weakly like a dying star. Her energy was collapsing.
She knew she couldn't hold on much longer—but still, she pushed forward, carried only by sheer, unbending resolve.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Pah!
Another stone slammed into her throat. A strangled scream tore from her lips before her body gave in. She gasped—then plummeted.
Crash!
She hit the ground with a bone-rattling thud, dust exploding around her like a shockwave. Pain spread through every inch of her body like fire in her veins.
She writhed, then forced herself upright, trembling. For a moment, she actually stood—but agony detonated inside her, and she dropped back to her knees.
And then—tap… tap… tap…—the sound of footsteps echoed.
Through blurred vision, Elexa raised her head.
The figure approaching her was none other than the Dark Emissary.
The one who had broken her down into this pitiful state.
Madi's eyes were flat, his fury hidden beneath an emotionless mask.
How much power had he wasted just to deal with one stubborn hero?
Blood streamed down Elexa's side, seeping through her hand where she clutched her wound. It was deep, ugly—fatal. Her gaze, however, was ice-cold as she met his.
"Do you regret invading?" Madi asked bluntly. His voice carried no malice—only inevitability.
Despite her condition, Elexa sneered, a faint smile curving her lips. Even bloodied and broken, she carried a beauty that could stun hearts. For a fraction of a second, even Madi was caught off guard.
But her next words were not beautiful.
"You know what?" she rasped, smiling through the pain.
"Why don't you go to hell."
Madi blinked once. Then again. And finally shook his head.
"Fine. Then die."
The ground beneath his feet cracked, splitting open as earthen energy surged upward.
Stone and soil twisted into a colossal spear, jagged and razor-sharp—an executioner's blade sculpted from the earth itself. Its presence alone promised nothing but absolute destruction.
"Too bad," Madi muttered coldly, face still devoid of expression.
"Die."
The earth spear fired, cutting through the air with a whistling shriek.
But at the very last second—Madi's eyes shifted. His hand jerked to the side. The spear veered away, hurtling not at Elexa, but into the distance—
CLANG!
The deafening metallic crash rang out as Balor was knocked out after he just stepped out of the void . The impact sent him flying, tumbling across the ground in a ragged roll.
He dug his dagger into the dirt to slow his momentum, sparks spraying as the weapon screeched against stone. He managed to halt—but the blow had rattled his insides, leaving his body trembling.
Madi didn't even look at him. His attention turned sharply to the left.
"Another pest," he said flatly.
He raised his hand again. The earth obeyed his gesture, condensing into a massive stone palm overhead. With a deafening roar, it descended—not like a strike, but like a judgment.
Little one who running forward froze as the shadow consumed him. His face drained of color as he looked up.
"Oh, fuck—" he muttered.
BOOOOOOOM!
The colossal hand slammed down, splitting the ground. Shockwaves rippled outward, rattling the earth itself.
Dust choked the air. The battlefield shook.
Madi's expression never changed. He glanced once at the rubble, voice as calm as ever.
"The two pests are dealt with."
Turning back to Elexa, his gaze sharpened like a blade.
"No one can save you," he said coldly.
"Invading this island was the last mistake you'll ever make."
Madi lifted his hand once more, shaping the earth with a flick of his fingers. A jagged spear of stone formed, its tip glistening with sharpened malice. With a grunt, he launched it straight toward Elexa's chest—aiming for her heart.
The spear tore through the air with a shrill whistle, its sheer velocity splitting the wind. Elexa, battered and broken, could do nothing but stare as it drew closer. Her legs trembled, her arms refused to obey, and her blood-soaked body simply wouldn't move.
Madi smirked, already imagining the moment her life faded. But then—
Thud!
The spear never struck her. Instead, it slammed into the ground, sinking deep into the earth. Dust and shards scattered, but Elexa's figure was gone.
His eyes narrowed. Where she once stood, only faintly glimmering silver needle floated in the air, humming with a strange, ethereal light.
"What… is this?" Madi muttered, his tone low, uncertain for the first time. He scanned the battlefield, searching for any sign of her presence.
That was his mistake.
A suffocating wave of killing intent suddenly pressed down from behind him. His instincts screamed danger. Madi snapped his head back toward the needle—only to find it gone.
In its place stood a young man.
His black hair swayed with the rising energy, his eyes glowing with a furious, otherworldly purple light.
He held twin blades, each wreathed in crackling violet energy that seemed to warp the very air around them.
"You know…" the young man said, his voice calm yet thunderous with wrath, "…you're the one who should die."
Ronan's blades crossed, the energy coiling tighter until it was unbearable. Then, with a roar, he slashed downward in an X-shaped arc.
"Vibrant Slash," Ronan muttered.
