E-Rank or SSS-Rank: I Awakened a Skill That Shouldn’t Exist

Chapter 210: Destroy The Cursed (27)

Clara crashed hard into the cavern wall, her shot veering wide. Disoriented, she pushed herself up, eyes snapping to Aiden in disbelief. Why would he—?

He didn't need to explain.

Because when Clara looked at where she had been standing a moment earlier, her stomach dropped.

The ground there was warped — twisted, distorted in a way that made the air itself ripple. One step closer and she would've been caught in whatever trap the scorpion had laid.

Aiden hadn't attacked her. He had saved her.

The beast had played its part so well that Clara had, just moments ago, thought she might have gained an advantage.

But now, as she glanced at the place where she had been standing earlier, a chill ran down her spine. The space there was… wrong — warped and twisted, as if reality itself had been shredded.

A dreadful thought gripped her. What would happen if the five elemental powers were combined and focused on a single point? She hadn't known the answer before.

Now, after what she had just witnessed, she did — whoever was struck by such an attack would simply cease to exist. The space itself wouldn't just burn or crack; it would be obliterated, erased as though it had never been.

"Thanks," Clara muttered, her voice a strange mix of gratitude and gravity. She should have been happy — relieved even — to have escaped death's door. Instead, a gnawing unease filled her chest.

She didn't just feel that her life, and Aiden's, were in danger — she knew it. Whatever peril they had been in before, what had just happened made the truth painfully clear:

The Dark Emissary wasn't simply powerful… he was something far worse.

Still, their immediate and most dangerous problem wasn't him, but the massive scorpion-like monstrosity under his control. The creature was far too deadly to "go easy" on — not that they had been holding back before.

But if they wanted any chance at survival, and to lessen the pressure on the allied forces still fighting elsewhere, they needed to eliminate both threats: the Dark Emissary and his monstrous pet.

Aiden had clearly reached the same conclusion. Planting his feet firmly into the ground, he let his transformation complete. His body twisted and reshaped, incorporating traits from various beasts — each chosen to give him the best chance in this fight.

Once his transformation was finished, his voice dropped to a low, commanding tone.

"Activate Dark Essence Mode."

The system obeyed instantly. Darkness rippled over his body, swallowing his beast-like features in a shadowy hue, except for his head and hair, which remained untouched.

The transformation gave him an even more menacing aura, his very presence radiating a predatory, lethal intent.

Behind him, Clara was already working furiously, her mind running through countless calculations. The faster she processed the battle variables, the sooner she could pinpoint the scorpion's true weakness.

She was certain she could find the precise strike point — but it would take time. Time she and Aiden would have to buy together by keeping both the Dark Emissary and the beast occupied.

Aiden, however, had other priorities. His instincts screamed at him to take down the beast first and then tear apart the Dark Emissary. That man — that monster — was the one responsible for the deaths of countless heroes who had already fallen in this battle.

All cursed monsters were dangerous, but the Dark Emissaries were worse — pure nightmares given form. And this one in particular was a monster among monsters.

He has to die, Aiden thought coldly. And fast.

Quint — the Dark Emissary — seemed to be having his own unpleasant thoughts. His lips twisted in irritation as he cursed under his breath.

These two annoying pests have lasted far longer than I anticipated… damn them. Ending them now would mean he'd have to get serious — far more serious — and that would be exhausting.

Clara and Aiden launched themselves at the scorpion without hesitation. Quint's eyes narrowed, his expression hardening as he raised a hand.

"Red thrust. Yellow crush."

The scorpion obeyed instantly. From its yellow tail, a crushing force of pure earth energy swelled outward, while its red tail erupted in an inferno of fire. The twin elemental powers surged together, fusing into two overwhelming waves of destruction that crashed down toward Clara and Aiden like twin tidal waves of death.

To be continued…....
