"Mika, are you alright?" Mellie's voice broke through Mika's thoughts.
He had been standing motionless, lost in contemplation, ever since Zald and Alfia's departure.
He turned to see Mellie, Airmid, and Alise approaching.
They had finished dealing with the remaining dark faction members, securing their victory.
"I'm fine. He was the one who got injured, not me," Mika chuckled, recalling the wound he had inflicted on Zald.
Although it was a minor injury, and Zald hadn't been defending seriously, a wound was a wound.
"Really?" Airmid, Alise, and the others exclaimed in surprise.
"That man…he must have been Zald of the Zeus Familia. I caught a glimpse of him during the battle. He's terrifying!"
This, combined with his immense size, left little doubt about his identity.
Besides their future adversary, Zald the Glutton, she couldn't think of any other possibility.
Alise and the others shared her assessment.
But Mika had just claimed he injured Zald?
Zald was a Level 7 Veteran, while Mika was only Level 5!
The difference between them was immense.
"It's true. I witnessed their entire exchange," Mellie confirmed.
Unlike Airmid and the others, who had been engaged in close combat, she had been manipulating the dark faction members from a distance.
Once Mika and Zald's battle destroyed the surrounding walls, she had shifted her focus to observe their duel.
Releasing just one of her controlled puppets freed up enough of her mental energy to witness their exchange.
Seeing their disbelief, Mika chuckled. "Neither of us used our full power. It was just a test of skill, a spar of martial arts."
"And thanks to my superior swordsmanship, I managed to gain a slight advantage."
Their disbelief turned to awe.
Mika was now a legend in their eyes.
Mika, enjoying their admiration, couldn't help but smile.
But his moment of glory was short-lived. The sound of approaching footsteps drew his attention, and Finn, Riveria, Gareth appeared.
"Are you alright, Mika?" Finn asked, concerned.
"I'm fine. You're here for him, aren't you?" Since Zald and Alfia's presence was still a secret, Mika used a pronoun to avoid revealing their identities.
"Indeed," Finn confirmed with a nod. As Mika had suspected, he had left scouts in the area, anticipating trouble.
If Zald and Alfia were to act, the industrial district, with its concentration of resources, would be their most likely target.
He had been prepared to intervene at any moment.
"He did appear. We even had a fight." Mika recounted the events of his duel with Zald.
"It seems they're well aware of our movements," Finn muttered, shaking his head.
"Hahaha! To be able to hold your own against that monster in close combat…there's no one else in Orario who could achieve such a feat!" Gareth clapped Mika on the shoulder, his laughter booming through the area.
Riveria and the others nodded in agreement.
During their recent dungeon expedition, they had witnessed Mika's extraordinary swordsmanship firsthand.
Even Ottar admitted he was no match for Mika in that regard.
While surprised by the outcome of his duel with Zald, they weren't as astonished as the others.
"A decisive battle, you say…" Finn mused, recalling Zald's words.
He bit his thumb, a familiar nervous habit. "Mika, how did that other matter go?"
Mika glanced at Mellie. After all, he had been occupied with his duel; she had handled the situation at the warehouse.
"Everything went according to plan. I had the situation under control," Mellie reported with a smile. "I only allowed five of them inside the warehouse. They couldn't have taken much."
"Excellent." Finn headed towards the warehouse, followed by Mika and the others.
"Those idiots set the warehouse on fire when they left," Mellie remarked, noticing the scorch marks.
"Fortunately, I discovered it quickly and extinguished the flames."
"It seems they're quite cautious," Finn commented, nodding slightly. "But even so, they've left a trail."
They reached the area where the magic stone products were stored and began examining the remaining items.
Finn had set a trap for the dark faction, a way to discern their true objective. He wanted to know if they were after the monetary value of the products or something else.
After their inspection, they compiled their findings.
"I see," Finn said with a smile, looking at the list of missing items.
"The dark faction is after the Activation Devices for the Magic Stone products."

"Activation devices?" Confusion rippled through the group.
"What would they want with those?"
"Surely not to create Bombs?" Mika wondered silently, then dismissed the thought with a chuckle. It seemed improbable.
He had never heard of explosives existing in this world, let alone ones sophisticated enough to require activation devices.
Even if there were alternative explosives, such a tactic seemed foolish.
Wouldn't they risk harming themselves? Perhaps they intended to use them as grenades or landmines? But those wouldn't require such complex devices.
"Even knowing what they're after, their true motive remains unclear."
"There's definitely a mastermind behind the dark faction's actions," Finn said, a hint of intrigue in his voice. He was curious about this unknown strategist.
"Let's wrap things up here." He turned to the others.
"After this, I doubt the dark faction will target the magic stone products again anytime soon. However, we'll maintain our vigilance. Be prepared for further confrontations."
"Understood," Mika and Alise responded in unison.
As Familia captains, it was their duty to acknowledge Finn's instructions.
They suspected the task of guarding the industrial district would fall upon their shoulders.
Finn smiled, pleased with their prompt response. "Let's head back. We achieved a great victory tonight. If circumstances allowed, we'd celebrate together, but for now, you'll have to celebrate within your own Familias."
"Don't worry, Finn. We'll celebrate on our own," Alise said with a laugh.
"Indeed," Mika added with a smile.
"Then hurry back. I wouldn't want to interrupt your celebrations."
With that, they parted ways.

"Ah, finally home." Mika headed towards his room, exhaustion evident on his face. "I'm so tired. I'm going to sleep."
"What about the Celebration?" Airmid asked.
"What's there to Celebrate? We stopped their attack, but we didn't achieve much. Besides, ever since Ayu joined us, every day feels like a celebration."
"So let's skip it tonight." He waved dismissively and continued toward his room.
Airmid nodded, recalling their recent days filled with delicious meals prepared by Ayu. "He's right. Every day has been a feast."
She and Mellie exchanged glances, then returned to their own rooms, also feeling the exhaustion from the night's battle.
Yahweh stood there, speechless. "Well, if they're tired, let them rest." She shook her head and headed to her own room.

After the battle, the Guild issued a notice to Orario's Familias, instructing their elite members to remain within the city and prepare for a confrontation with the dark faction, instead of venturing into the dungeon.
Clearly, the Guild anticipated a decisive battle.
Mika chuckled upon hearing the news. "We've barely been to the dungeon lately anyway."
As they grew stronger, the monsters on the upper and middle floors no longer provided a sufficient challenge.
To continue improving, they would have to delve deeper, which would be time-consuming, requiring them to spend nights in the dungeon. It was inefficient.
They preferred focusing on Nen training and the Enhancement Techniques Yahweh had developed.
While not as rapid as gaining experience through combat, the progress was steady.
Therefore, since the dark faction's resurgence, they had rarely entered the dungeon.
Airmid and Mellie chuckled; the Guild's announcement wouldn't affect them.
"Tomorrow, we're patrolling the Industrial District, right?" Airmid asked.
"That's right," Mellie confirmed.
Since their last battle, the industrial district had become a permanent patrol zone for the Yahweh and Astraea Familias, with the two Familias alternating shifts.
"I hope we defeat the dark faction soon. I'm tired of these endless patrols," Mellie complained, slumping in her chair. Patrolling the city wasn't her idea of an adventurer's life.
"Don't worry, it won't last much longer," Mika reassured her with a smile.
"Although Finn hasn't said anything, I believe he's noticed something as well."
"The decisive battle is likely imminent."
"I hope you're right," Mellie sighed.
…
…
A few days passed.
Returning from their patrol, Mika, Airmid, and Mellie encountered Alise and the Astraea Familia.
"Yo, Alise! Long time no see!" Mika called out.
"Mika! Long time no see!" Alise greeted them with a grin.
