Chapter 110: Feeling lonely at home without me, Roy?
Chapter 110 - Feeling lonely at home without me, Roy?
On the paper, besides the boost in basic abilities, Gluttony gained a new effect.
[Includes a small storage space, unable to hold living things.]
"Why does this skill feel more like magic?" Roy said, surprised by Gluttony's new effect. Sensing it, he found a space of about eight cubic meters.
By conventional logic, this ability fit the magic column—space magic.
Hestia thought for a moment.
"Skills affect the adventurer; magic affects the outside world. But both stem from the adventurer's potential."
"Gluttony's new effect isn't attack or support magic. It's logistical, just storing items. That leans more toward skills," she added.
"No need to overthink it. Seven Deadly Sins is already absurd. A magic-like effect isn't shocking," Hestia said generously, clapping her hands.
After seeing its effects, even explosive magic wouldn't faze her.
Roy nodded. "A warehouse for emergencies is perfect."
Hestia smiled. "For dungeon explorers, these two effects could be a lifesaver."
More than other skills, she hoped Gluttony would gain further effects.
The dungeon was perilous, and life-saving abilities kept Roy safe.
"Skill effects tie to desires. Did Gluttony gain this because you're secretly a foodie?" Hestia teased.
"You're sly with that," Roy chuckled, eyeing her playfully.
"Aren't you a foodie?"
"The food in the lower world is amazing!" Hestia admitted.
Since descending, food rivaled books as her favorite thing.
Roy knew why Gluttony gained this effect.
Today's hassle with magic stones and backpacks reminded him of his fascination with space rings, triggering Falna to unlock this new skill effect.
"Hestia, with my basic abilities, I should be able to rank up normally, right?" Roy asked, noting his S and SSS stats.
"Normally, all basic abilities reaching D qualifies for a rank up," Hestia said.
"But that's for typical adventurers. Your potential, amplified by Greed, makes it unclear how high your basic abilities need to go."
"Just keep improving until they max out, then it should work," Roy said.
"That's the plan," Hestia agreed. "Usually, beyond D-rank basic abilities, excelia is needed."
"With your strength, earning excelia for ranking up is tough."
Loki Familia's Level 5s and 6s had tackled the dungeon's deep floors for years without rank up.
Roy, at least Level 5 in strength, faced slim odds of earning sufficient excelia now.
"So, max out basic abilities," Roy said.
"I'd guess at least 1,500 for each," Hestia estimated.
"That's conservative. Your pre-Falna strength matched first-class adventurers."
"I can't gauge your potential's depth."
In two days, three of Roy's basic abilities hit SSS.
Hestia saw vast room for growth.
"For 1,500, that's fine. At this rate, I'll hit it by tomorrow," Roy said.
Hestia laughed.
"Where's Hephaestus?" Roy asked, glancing around the shop.
"Upstairs. Don't worry about her," Hestia said, shaking her head, her eyes flicking guiltily toward the stairs before darting away.
The shop had three floors: a basement forging room, a first-floor shop, and a second floor for living.
Hephaestus was likely resting upstairs.
"How long are you helping here?" Roy asked.
"Not sure yet," Hestia said, then teased,
"What, feeling lonely at home without me, Roy?"
Roy nodded honestly, hitting her deflection with a straight answer.
"W-Well…" Hestia's face flushed slightly.
