Chapter 32: Kuoh Academy Part 2
LAHARL VS. KIBA Location the Humanworld, Japan-Kuoh: Bael Residence, Krichevskoy Mansion; Training Room, Inside the Cage
Laharl was just challenged to a sparing match by Kiba. The girls, along Rias, Akeno, and Koneko were shocked by Kiba's crazy challenge. Laharl, he laughed and walk over to Kiba. Once close to the Knight of Rias, he patted Kiba's shoulder, and said, "Hope you don't regret this dude." stretching out his scarf and wrapped around the handle of a training sword on the rack. Bringing over to him, and taking it from his scarf, and turning to the cage ring, pointing at it with his head. Kiba smile as the two boys made their way to the open door, on the side of the cage-ring, Laharl requested this ring to emulate a MMA octagon, and reinforced with multiple enchantments that makes the cage practically indestructible.
A perfect sparing ring between the two of them. Laharl he went to one end, while Kiba stood in the entrance of the cage, and the opposite side of the ring. As the door was closed by Ruby that went over to not only do this, but also to say, "Hey babe!? (resting her right arm over the cage) Knock his ass out, okay!!?" as she discreetly blew a kiss to him, and went back to the audience made of the rest of Laharl's girls, but also Rias group as well. They sat on some benches, as the blue long spiky, antennae, Ruby sat neck to Vii, and crossed her arms under her impressive bust. Rias was conflicted on who to cheer on, so we're Akeno, while Koneko just waved her right arm, and said a silent, "Fight on!!" not specifically stating who she's cheering. All the while Laharl and Kiba stood staring at the other, slowly getting to their respected stance of fighting.
As Laharl, he asked Kiba, "So how are we gonna do this? First blood? Knock out? Or first to be disarmed?" Kiba smiled, as he got into his position. With both hands onto handle, and taking the stance that Okita, taught him, and he answered, "Let's go with either knock out or submission." This made Laharl let out a laugh, lifting his left arm over to his hoodie and removing it allowing his reddish and bluish antennae free, with his hair exposed. Thus making Rias, Akeno, and surprisingly Koneko blush of seeing Laharl, showing his hair and face, as he has been wearing his hood all the times that they seen him still now. Laharl, lowered his left arm in a forward position, with his hand motion of "come on", signaling the start of this match.
Kiba was more then happy to start this match. Using his Knight speed, to rush forward straight at Laharl in a low sword stance. Kiba, his sword already in low left swing at Laharl, which Laharl easily blocked. Utterly smashing his sword against Laharl's training sword. Kiba's attack had no effect, as he began attacking in a rush of swings in various angles at Laharl.
Meanwhile Laharl, he was actually holding back, as he was focusing on blocking all of Kiba's attacks. Since his physical abilities drastically surpass the Knight of Rias, and his fighting style would kill him in one landed swing. As Kiba aim for another horizontal swing to his mid section, he blocked and parried using enough force to slightly turn Kiba and in bad fortune, leave his back exposed. Before Kiba could readjust and guard, he felt something heavy and powerful hit him in his mid-back area, and he was blasted towards the cage wall, hitting it hard on his face. What Laharl did was hit him "lightly", with the flat-side of the sword, like hitting someone with a paddle.
Even with him holding back, a Kiba at this level wasn't even capable of blocking let alone, willstand such a blow. He heard his girls cheer loudly, as Kiba was forced to his knees, blood pouring down his face. From what Laharl could guess, Kiba, he must have broken his nose, after impacting with the fence. Placing the practice sword onto his shoulder, and not taking his eyes off Kiba, he'd asked, "Are still able to fight?" Kiba stood back up, as Rias, Akeno, and Koneko watched in worry. Turning to face his opponent, Kiba, he still wants to fight and was about to switch his strategy against Laharl-san. He originally thought Laharl while stronger, he wasn't as fast as him, even with his broken nose and blood on his face, he smile, and responded, "More than able to fight, senpai!!"
Laharl, he was actually impressed. Kiba if he has to compare, was currently at the level he was in the Riser arc. And that was still three years from now, he doesn't know what has happened to make the future Prince of Kuoh, stronger than canon. But at least this sparing match, didn't end in one hit. Lowering his blade, he got back into his usual stance, and waited for Kiba to strike. Bending his knees and lowering into a running stance, seems that once again Kiba was going to rely onto his speed, against him.
Kiba tensed his leg muscles, channeling his demonic energy through his legs, a skill he hasn't mastered yet fully. As this skill is fully meant to increase his speed and attacking power behind his swing. Kiba, he blasted forward, almost in a flash with a high sword attacking position. Slashing at Laharl with great strength and speed...only for Laharl to shatter his training sword, against his block. Kiba...he lost. But instead of shame or ridicule, Laharl offered him a hand, and some advice, "Dude. You have the right idea with that move. But you lack force, and weight behind that attack. Ohh and get a better sword that handle the stress you put it under." looking up, at Laharl, Kiba smiled and took the offered hand, as his senpai helped him up. Kiba, he bowed respectfully and said, "Thanks for the match and advice senpai!!" Laharl, he chuckled from "San" to "Senpai", he'd gained Kiba respect, and he hopes that he'd follows his hint of developing some strength and force, along with his speed. That's what made Kiba such a trusted support...but still not a real main cast material, but who knows. As the two of them left the cage ring, and were greeted by their respected peerage. The girls congratulated their man, as they hugged and kissed him, which did made Rias and Akeno a bit jealous, as they checked on Kiba. But aside from some bruising, and a broken nose, he was fine.
With that Rias decided to cut this visit short. Showing gratitude for the hospitality, as Kyoko offered to show them out, making Rias smile. Of all the girls over Laharl-kun, she was the one that Rias most likes, and might welcome to share Laharl-kun...she was already considering Akeno. As all the match, she's blushing and rubbing her thighs, Rias, she didn't know what to do with her Queen's tendencies. Sighing with a smile, Kyoko-chan guided them to the door and bid them farewell...
SEARCHING FOR WORTHY DUNGEONS Location the Cementary on the Abandoned Church
It been a couple of days, since Rias surprise visit...or should he say constant visits. Ever since that first, she'd show-up, claiming in bonding between neighbors and future classmates. It be a couple more weeks, before Sona is fifteen and move into Kuoh as well and then once August roles in. The new co-ed semester of Kuoh Academy starts, as he remembers from DXD lore, Issei officially shows up in the second year, with Matsuda and Motohama, forming the Pervert Trio. But it takes a whole year, before his sacred gear, the Booster Gear starts showing signs of awakening. The Booster Gear among all the original 13 Longinus, which holds the Welsh Dragon, Ddraig's soul, and quite possibly the most broken power in Anime fiction...along with the most perverted.
Laharl laughs as he remembers all of Issei's moves. Dress Break, Pai-Phone, Nyuutron Beam Cannon which are base on "Boob" power. Then there are his actual serious techniques, Dragon Shot, Flame Blaze, Boost, Transfer, and Penetrate. It funny if Issei was more serious he'd be weaker, and if he was more perverted he'd be even more overpowered. Hard to believe he is one of the top perverts in the anime world, along with Issei the other big perverts that are in that list are Ikkou Satonaka from Ah my Buddha!, Jiraiya from Naruto, Master Roshi from Dragon Ball, and a couple more.
But he was getting off topic. He has one year free from Issei, and his friends, before...as Laharl's eyes gleam with anger and possible bloodlust...he'd has to teach the Oppai Dragon, who he can pervert on, as the moment one of his girls in visually assaulted. He'll drop his ass, so hard that they might not need Raynare to be the trigger that leads to the Booster Gear's awakening. As Laharl continues to follow the arrow marker from his Hunter's Exp system to find a dungeon on Kuoh, this morning he woke up, early and told the girls he was going to do this. And up still now there are three dungeons in total in Kuoh, one hard level that is surprisingly in the Old School building and future club headquarters of the Occult Research Club, which was funny. A mid level dungeon at abandoned building, left to wither in the eastern woods of Kuoh, and the one he is following now. For what the arrow marker color indicator red is hard or dangerous for their current level. Yellow is slightly hard but with hard grinding and dedication can be handled, Blue is normal which is slightly above their level, but still doable. Green is slightly above easy and a equally match to their level, which is the color of the marker currently, and lastly White which is easy and the same rank as the Field Dungeon back home which his mom is in-charge of.
The arrow marker was leading him to another iconic site in DXD. As he looked at the famous Abandoned Church, were the lesser villain and protag-killer, Raynare of the Fallen used as her base. Along with other lesser characters such as Dohnaseek, Kalawarna, and Mittelt, along with future serious villain in the later arc, Freed Sellzen. He was almost tempted to destroy this run down, and sacrilege place, cause here the best good-girl Asia dies...but her arrival was one canon event he'd refuse to break, after that...he'll think on what to do. As he approached the abandoned cementary, behind the church. The Hunter's Exp system marker was leading him to the oldest grave in the whole cementary, a catacomb with the names already faded...
Location the Catacomb Dungeon Area 1 Laharl enter the previous catacomb in the Humanworld, and was immediately transport into a massive run down mansion. It honestly resembles the first dungeon in La Pucelle: Tactics game. As chunks of rocks scattered allover the wither carpet room of this dungeon. A fallen and damaged chandelier, resting on some chunks of debrie, three pathways one on the right side, another on the left side, and one straight in front of him. Seems this dungeons has rooms and sections unlike the Field Dungeon which is basically a open area on all three levels. He made his scarf wrap around his right arm, and as it unwrapped to reveal his Zangetsu Sealed State base massive sword, Zanbato.
As his scarf sway in the air, since he knows that he wasn't alone in the room. Soon a couple of purple skinned bats without feet, they look exactly like Bits or Tiny Bats from La Pucelle. Seems that the enemies and area is likely based off that game, whatever, while fast bits are weak and takes a lot of levels for them to be able to use Suck Blood, Hypnotize, and Charge more than once. As a bit screeched and soared towards him, Laharl easily kill it with one swing, cleaving the bit in two. Two more tiny bats came and he slashed one dead, while the other he smashed hard into the floor, with his scarf. Unwrapping his scarf from the third dead bit, he focused on the remaining four. Using his Blade Rush consequently he finished the tiny bats, faster than they could react against him.
That's the things about bits or tiny bats, fast but weak at everything else. As the seven bits gave out a considerable amount of Blue-Exp. He expected the bits to give out that kind of exp-drop, as he absorbed them, his speed, stamina, and reaction soured. It didn't level-up, but it has grown better than what he'd would have gotten in the Field Dungeon back home. As he collected and stored the bits, to give them to his mom to sell the next Sunday, he and the girls would visit another monster appeared, and attacked him. A small fireball flew towards him, and he used his scarf to protect himself, thanks to his enhanced speed, that he was able to defend himself. A small fire engulfed him upon contact, swiping his scarf to extinguish the fire, and preventing serious damage.
In front of him, a bit away from him is a large fireball with a face. A Will-of-a-Wisp, another monster from La Pucelle: Tactics. Which was clearly not letting him leave the Catacomb Dungeon, as he decided to call this dungeon. Being a magic and fire based monster, resting his Zanbato on his shoulder, and got ready for another fight. The Will-of-a-Wisp, started to blow fireballs to him, but Laharl's speed was more enough to dodge, and stay away from the fire. He knows that this isn't like the game, all physical are off the table, along with Blazing Knuckles and Overlord's Wrath. Meaning he only has...channeling his demonic power into his left gloved hand, causing a surge of magic to produce purple electricity of dark energies. He started to counterattack, throwing Dark Bolts at the will-of-a-wisp.
Each Dark Bolt causing a lot damage, and angering the will-of-a-wisp. As it's face showed it sucking in air, before breathing out a bigger fireball, turning his scarf into devil wings, he soar upwards and stored his Zanbato, and he decided to finish the annoying fire monster once and for all. Channeling demonic energy and magic through both his hands, clapping his hands and as he separates them he formed a huge ball of dark energy in a darker shade of purple, this is his Dark Reaver spell. And he throws the Dark Reaver, at the will-of-a-wisp, that tried to counter with another huge fireball. But his magical technique was stronger, consuming the fireball and heading straight at the Will-of-a-Wisp, and taking it out the monster. Leaving behind yellow...and orange exp. He found a new exp-drop, landing he walked over and absorb the yellow exp that increased his magic, but the orange ones. He felt his spirit grow stronger, and with it his magical resistance. He's happy this dungeon has proven quite fruitful in just the first room, he'd couldn't wait for the other. Having everything he'd needed for now, Laharl headed to the exit and returning to his home, and girls, calling it a day, as he'd found their new hunting ground.
