DxD: King of Salt

Chapter 15: Chapter 14

The battlefield was in a standstill from the display that Zadkiel had just shown. Many of the Titans were looking at him in fear as they had seen what had befallen their Titan brothers. Even the members of the Twelve Titans and the Younger Titans were afraid from the display.

Kronos was also stunned from it but then his face turned into one of rage. He looked at the angel in anger before he looked at his army.

"Attack him!" Kronos shouted to them.

Those of his army turned to look at him in fear at that as they all looked at him.

'Will they retreat? That will stop any unnecessary bloodshed.' Zadkiel thought to himself hoping that the Titan King will see reason.

"Either you kill him or you meet my blade! Now Attack!" Kronos shouted brandishing his scythe.

That had an effect on the Titans as while what Zadkiel just did did terrify them they were still more scared of Kronos so they decided to follow his orders. The Younger Titans however were keeping their distance from the front lines as they didn't want to be caught off-guard with an opponent like that.

Zadkiel seeing the approaching army just sighed at this. He has hoped to end this without killing much but it seems that the Titan King's hubris was much more than he had hoped.

'Having some Pride is fine but this is ridiculous.' Zadkiel thought to himself as he looked at the approaching army.

He then calmly raised his left arm which caused the army to stop as they prepared to run if an attack like the previous one happens again. Zadkiel seeing this just smiled at them, which scared the Titans more.

'Wh-What is he about to do now?' Hecate thought to herself as she tried to locate magical energies so that she would know what he would do.

"You want to run back? I'll help you." Zadkiel said with a smile as he made his hands into a flicking position.

He then flicked his finger at the Titans as the Titans were alert.

*Boom*

But contrary to what they expected, instead of a giant wave of Salt like before the Titans at the front were sent back with a mighty force. They collided with the Titans in the back as five rows of Titans were now on the ground from the attack.

The one's who weren't affected by it were surprised at the attack. Nike seeing this flew close to Hecate as the Titaness glanced at her before looking back at the angel.

"What did he do? How did he do that?" Nike asked her.

"I-I'm not really sure. But I think he formed his magic right in front of the Titans and then pushed them back." Hecate said to her.

"He just pushed them. Then what was that sound we heard! That's not normal!" Nike shouted at her in fear.

"You think I know! This is the first time even I'm seeing this. He managed to put his power right in front of them and I couldn't even sense it before it actually happened!" Hecate shouted back.

This caused Nike and the Titans near them to become more panicked. If even Hecate, the Titaness of Magic is unable to sense his attack then this didn't bode well for them.

"Hyperion, attack him!" Kronos shouted to his brother.

"Yes brother." Hyperion said to him before he charged a lot of light in his right palm.

Zadkiel took note of the bright light as he saw the Titan of Heavenly Light charging an attack at him.

"Oh?" Zadkiel gained an interested look on his face when he saw that.

"Take this!" Hyperion shouted as he shot the concentrated light straight at him.

The attack is charged with his own energy and since he is a Titan, the light he is using is of the Primordial element. This is a trait that only those directly born to two Primordial's have.

In essence, Primordial elements are a much more powerful form of the element. Their power is far above that of the normal elements but is also quite hard to control. For example, if huge amounts of normal fire is able to destroy an entire building then Primordial Fire is strong enough to destroy an entire large City or more. (A/N: This is my rough idea about Primordial elements, if you have any ideas or suggestions about it then please write in the comments so I can get help in it.)

So the attack the Titan Hyperion sent Zadkiel's way is very powerful and can decimate most of the things that come to his path... if he had full control of it that is.

See, despite the fact that he is the Titan of Heavenly Light, that only gives him natural affinity to create and use it. His control on it however is completely dependent on his own training in its use.

Barring that, Zadkiel looked at the beam of Primordial Light coming at him. If it were to hit him it would envelope him whole. The Titans expected him to move out of its way but Zadkiel just looked at the attack that was coming his way and then opened his hand and has his palm opened at the attack.

Then when the attack was about to hit him a portal as big as the attack appeared in front of his palm and the attack went inside it. Zadkiel closed the portal along with his palm after that.

The battlefield was quiet as it took a few seconds for the opposing army to compute what had happened just now, and when it did...

"Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!" All the Titans screamed in horror and fear when they saw it.

Even the Twelve and Younger Titans were shocked when they saw it.

"I-Impossible! My attack, he took care of it so easily!" Hyperion said with disbelief.

Zadkiel just smirked and raised his arm a bit higher as the Titans were now extremely nervous. Then he opened his palm and the portal that appeared a minute ago appeared right over the army of Titans. Or rather...

...On to of Hyperion.

"Aaaaaahhhhhh!" Hyperion screaned in pain when the attack he sent at Zadkiel came out of the portal and enveloped him in it.

The Titans near him jumped away as the attack hit. When it was over the Titan has smoke coming out of his as he swayed a bit before falling on the ground with white eyes. The Titans were terrified now at seeing the state of the Titan of Heavenly Light.

"No way, Lord Hyperion was defeated so easily." A Titan said terrified.

"It's not just that. That beam of light, it didn't just contain Lord Hyperion's power, it also has Holy power mixed into it. And then there were more light in it than what Lord Hyperion had sent at the angel!" Hecate shouted in fear.

"Wait, what are you saying!" Helios asked her.

"I'm saying that the angel combined his own power with Lord Hyperion's in that attack!" Hecate said to him.

"No way, Lord Hyperion needed sometime to make the attack that large. The portal opened in only a few seconds after it absorbed the attack and you're saying that Angel put enough power into it to envelope and incapacitate him!" One Titan near them shouted in fright when he understood what she is saying.

This caused the other Titans to look at the lone angel with fear while said Angel was waiting. He wanted to go back to Heaven but he couldn't just leave the battlefield, but he also didn't want to kill unnecessarily so he wanted this battle to end quickly.

Nike looked at the lone Angel floating in the air with fear before she flew to Kronos and kneeled in front of him and bowed trembling. Kronos himself is surprised to see his brother defeated so easily but then looked at the Titaness.

"M-My Lord, I implore y-you, p-please stop this war. O-Our army is outmatched against th-that An-An-Angel. We have to re-re-retreat." Nike said to her Lord stuttering and trembling.

She knew that she didn't want to fight in a war against an Angel who is treating their army like he is playing with children and can incapacitate one of the Twelve Titans with ease. But she also knew that Kronos might not like retreating so she chose her words carefully as she trembled in fear.

The moment those words left her mouth an oppressive suffocating aura appeared around her. Nike opened her eyes wide when she felt the aura as the ground beneath her started to crack at the weight that has been put on her body. She grit her teeth but didn't dare to look up at her king as she didn't want to die.

"Retreat. How dare you utter that word in front of me!? I am the Titan Kronos, King of the Titans, Titan of Time and the one who killed my father the Primordial Ouranos! If I were to retreat then what good was it with me killing him! I will be a laughing stock for the other pantheons if they were to hear that my army was repelled by one Angel who isn't even a God!" Kronos shouted in anger as he stood up and hit the handle of his scythe on the ground as it cracked.

Nike trembled at the force exerted and the anger in his tone while the other Titans stepped back in fear. Hecate feared for her fellow Titaness as she was also afraid of her king's anger.

Zadkiel just looked at the happenings with narrowed eyes. He saw the reaction of the Titans and he is able to perfectly see what was happening as if he is right in front of the Titan King himself.

"His Pride is utterly ridiculous and he is just a tyrant ruling with fear." Zadkiel said with a sigh when he saw the reaction of the Titan King.

While he was saying that Kronos shifted his attention from the winged Titaness and to the Angel with angered and hateful eyes.

"I don't want any more excuses! Attack that Angel and kill him! Bring me his head or die trying!" Kronos commanded to his army in an angered tone.

"YES MY LORD!" All the Titans including Nike shouted in unison in fear at the command.

Then they turned and charged at the Angel, fear fueling their actions while the Angel looked at the approaching army and sighed in defeat.

"Well, I tried to give you one last chance Kronos, but it seems you still haven't learned. Very well then." Zadkiel said as he looked at the army as another spear of Salt appeared in his left hand.

He got into a battle stance as the Titan's army neared him.

"You shall have no mercy from me." Zadkiel said seriously as he looked at the Titans.
