DxD: I Steal Luck

Chapter 96: Chapter 96: The Adorable Ais

The sudden turn of events caught even the composed Blake off guard. He could only stare in surprise at Ais, who blinked her golden eyes, looking uncertain about what to do next.

However, adhering to the principle of not passing up a good opportunity, Blake immediately wrapped his arms around Ais's slender waist, ready to deepen the kiss. At that moment, a high-pitched scream, so loud it hurt the ears, echoed through the forest.

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Ais-sama!"

"You pervert! Let go of Ais-sama!"

In the next instant, Lefiya, who had been hiding nearby, rushed over with a face full of disbelief, pulling Blake—who was speechless—and the equally bewildered Ais apart.

"Really, girl... Although you admire Ais, interrupting our intimate moment is wrong. This is a rare development..."

Seeing Lefiya glaring at him with a defensive look, Blake couldn't help but feel a little annoyed.

"Lefiya, why are you here?"

Ais looked at the elf girl in front of her, who was acting like a protective mother, and asked with some confusion, her face tinged with a faint blush.

"I've been secretly watching over Ais-sama, and sure enough, Ais-sama has been taken advantage of by this guy! If I had known it would turn out like this, I would've come out sooner!"

Lefiya glared at the helpless Blake with a look of frustration.

Hearing this, Blake could only shake his head helplessly. He had already noticed Lefiya spying on them, but since he hadn't done anything wrong, he hadn't said anything. He never expected Ais to suddenly kiss him. It caught him off guard, and it turned out like this.

"It was me who took the initiative."

Before Blake could say anything, Ais directly placed a hand on Lefiya's shoulder and said seriously.

"No, no, there's no way Ais-sama would kiss a man. He... he must have coaxed and tempted Ais-sama into it!"

Upon hearing this, Lefiya's eyes immediately wavered, and she defended herself.

"Lefiya, this was the method Tiona gave me to thank Blake. What's wrong with that?"

Then, Ais revealed the shocking truth.

Lefiya's body and expression froze.

Blake also twitched the corner of his mouth, and in his mind, the lively and passionate figure of Tiona appeared.

So it was her who was the real culprit...

In the original story, Ais wanted to apologize to Bell but was tricked by Riveria, who used the "lap pillow" technique. It seems this time it was Tiona... she really was a good wingwoman...

Indeed, Ais's personality was very innocent. However, why did this adorable apprentice of his seem so appealing?

With that thought, Blake's crystal-clear eyes flickered and glimmered with an inexplicable light.

"What on earth is Tiona thinking?! Really!"

Lefiya, on the other hand, was screaming in frustration, clearly agitated. But given the situation, it was completely understandable. After all, her admiration for Ais meant that Ais's first kiss was taken by a man for such a reason.

"Lefiya, is there something wrong with this?"

Ais gently pressed Lefiya down, tilting her head slightly, and asked with some confusion.

"Ais-sama, of course, it's wrong! Kisses should only be shared with the person you love."

Hearing this, Lefiya looked distressed. However, at the end of her sentence, it seemed like she had thought of something, and her delicate face turned red.

"Someone you love..."

Ais muttered those words to herself, then quietly turned her golden eyes toward Blake. She didn't understand what love was, but being by Blake's side gave her a different feeling from being with anyone else. She felt happy and didn't want to leave his side.

If it weren't for Finn's direct orders, Ais wouldn't want to go on the expedition.

"By the way, Ais-sama, accepting a man's ring means accepting his proposal! He must have bad intentions toward you! So Ais-sama, quickly give the ring back to him!"

Then, Lefiya shot a scrutinizing look at Blake, speaking with hatred.

"Proposal..."

Hearing this, Ais's face turned even redder as she looked at Blake with a look of uncertainty in her eyes.

"I swear, what are you thinking, girl? Your imagination is just too wild."

Unable to take it anymore, Blake placed his hand on Lefiya's head and said with exasperation.

"What proposal? It's a magic item I gave Ais to protect herself."

"Uh... Ah!"

Lefiya's body stiffened at Blake's sudden action, and then she jumped away in shock, looking at him in disbelief.

He actually touched her? Does that mean he doesn't have impure thoughts...?

The Elven race has an instinctive aversion to those with evil intentions. The fact that Blake could touch Lefiya meant his heart was pure. And that realization caused Lefiya to waver.

"Lefiya, this really is a magic item Blake gave me. You've misunderstood."

At this moment, Ais spoke up, and for some reason, there was a hint of loneliness in her golden eyes.

Upon hearing that Ais also said the same thing, Lefiya couldn't help but lower her head in embarrassment, her pointed ears slightly flushed. She had rushed out thinking she was in the right, but it was all a misunderstanding.

"Elf girl Lefiya, right? Since you like Ais, then during this expedition, please take care of her. Perhaps something good will come out of it," said Blake, seeing Lefiya's reaction. He directly leaned in and whispered meaningfully in her ear while Ais looked on, confused.

"Ais, I'm going to find Lili. You should return to the Familia's camp and rest," Blake said, waving his hand casually as he walked away without waiting for Lefiya's reaction.

"Lefiya, did Blake say anything to you?" Ais asked, noticing Lefiya's flushed face and her odd expression as she walked behind her.

"N-no, it's nothing. A-Ais-sama, let's head back to the camp," Lefiya stammered, her face redder than an apple. One reason was because of the way Blake had spoken into her sensitive ear, and the other was the content of his words.

"Okay," Ais replied, tilting her head in confusion. She tucked away the black-and-white ring and began walking towards the camp with the still-flustered Lefiya.

Blake... Who exactly is he?

As Lefiya followed Ais, her mind wandered. Though she had only just met him, this man had left a strong impression on her. He had entered her heart so quickly, from the moment she first heard about him. His overwhelming actions, like defeating Bete, his powerful words that pierced her heart, his effortless slaying of Goliath, his gentle instruction to Ais—especially the moment he revealed her hidden feelings—it had all shaken her deeply.

Though their acquaintance was short, the events that transpired were impactful.
