Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Storm Brewing
When it came to enemies, Blake believed in the principle of making no mistakes—better to kill than to let go. Especially when it came to people who insulted his girlfriend or threatened him.
To him, such individuals weren't even human.
After a moment, Blake turned his cold gaze to Kouzou, who had been frozen in fear. The look snapped Kouzou back to reality, his face twitching uncontrollably, his legs shaking violently as if they were about to give out. While he wanted Blake dead, he had never seen such a gruesome scene before.
Finally, under Blake's piercing gaze, Kouzou collapsed to the ground, nearly soiling himself in fear. The only thing saving him from total humiliation was the fact that he was already a eunuch and hadn't eaten much in the hospital.
"Take his corpse, pick up the severed hands and the weapons, and follow me, or I'll kill you."
Ignoring the three men, Blake cleaned the blood off the Ice Whisper Sword, sheathed it, and walked away.
Hearing this, Kouzou and the two remaining Black Blade members shuddered. Hastily, they picked up the corpse, the severed hands, and the weapons before following him.
The sound of tires screeching soon filled the air as Blake drove away in the Black Blade gang's van, leaving behind only a pool of blood and the terrified cries of bystanders calling the police.
"Hah, the Black Blade gang... looks like this trouble needs dealing with."
Sitting in the van, Blake's crystalline blue eyes glimmered with a strange light as he listened to the gang's information. It wasn't dread or fear—it was bloodlust.
In Blake's mind, since he had already crossed paths with the Black Blade gang, he had to destroy them completely. Otherwise, their numbers could put Airi and Marinette in danger.
Fortunately, he had dealt with these men in time. If he had been out handling other matters, Airi and Marinette might have already been taken.
"Give me your phone. Dial your boss."
Blake glanced coldly at the two Black Blade members, his tone indifferent. This was why he hadn't killed them yet—he still had use for them.
Trembling, the man on his left pulled out his phone and dialed a number. Blake grabbed it as soon as the call connected.
"Hello? Takahashi, how's the job going?"
A voice filled with authority and menace came through the phone.
"You must be Hideki Nozaki, leader of the Black Blade gang. I'm Blake, your target."
Blake's voice was calm, leaving no room for interruption.
"Do you think those three failures could handle me? It seems your intelligence as a leader is severely lacking. I'll be waiting for you at the abandoned factory district on East Street. Come and claim your men."
With that, Blake hung up, leaving the three in the van dumbfounded.
"Kouzou, drive faster."
He turned to Kouzou, his tone icy.
Hearing this, Kouzou could only begrudgingly floor the gas pedal. They had come to settle accounts with Blake—how had they ended up being his driver?
Kouzou secretly hoped the Black Blade gang would kill Blake and save him, so he had no choice but to suppress his fear and follow orders.
What Kouzou was thinking didn't concern Blake. He made another call to Airi and Marina, instructing them to hide just in case.
---
Meanwhile, in a luxurious suite at the Black Blade gang's headquarters, a middle-aged man with several knife scars on his face slammed his phone to the ground in fury.
He didn't care about the lives of Takahashi and his men. What enraged him was the insult, a volcanic fury boiling inside him. As the underground kingpin, everyone treated him with respect. Yet a mere student had mocked him and demanded he come to collect his men?
If this got out, he would become a laughingstock among the other gang leaders.
Hideki Nozaki decided that this time, he would tear Blake to pieces as a warning to anyone else who dared to cross him.
Minutes later, Hideki led over a hundred men in a convoy of vans, heading straight for the abandoned factory district on East Street.
As for Takahashi and his group? Hah! If they couldn't handle a high schooler, they weren't worth keeping around—they had brought shame to the Black Blade gang!
In an instant, Blake, the Black Blade gang, and the police, alerted by reports, all began moving. A storm was brewing!
