Chapter 900: The perverted hunter

Next day Uriel showed up in time for his fight but when he was presented to his enemies there was no excitement, no thrill, nothing but the plain face of someone who was tired of it all. He didn't even pay attention to who his enemies were or what kind of traits they could possess as he was inwardly hoping they would knock him out and take him off of the tournament, but Charlie's words lingered.

"Just one more fight..." He mumbled to himself when the referee gave the go. Neither him nor his opponents made the first move and Uriel wondered if they had some sort of defensive strategy, though nothing could be further away from the truth.

They were a couple of married hunters who owned a small bakery. As business owners they were only in the tournament to get some free advertisement out of it and had little interest in winning and they wondered if making the first move against someone who was already injured could be seen as unfair advantage.

It wasn't until the crowd cheered up for them to start the fight and kick the 'abuser' who hits women in the face out of the tournament that they made a move, an incredibly coordinated move that seemed taken out of a circus rather than a fighting tournament.

The man grabbed his wife's hands and spun around his heels using her as a weapon, which likely would have served for nothing if not for her trait that allowed her to harden her body at will. In this state she could not move at all, but she became the perfect bludgeoning weapon.

The weight of a human being turned into a blunt weapon hit a distracted Uriel directly on the face, though rather than being thrown away Uriel just turned his head like he received a slap and readjusted his broken jaw like it was nothing only to proceed to the offensive.

The husband took a jump backward as the woman deactivated her trait long enough to change her position into an open palm which the husband wielded now like a sharp weapon which Uriel failed to dodge as he was too deep into the offensive.

All of the woman's body had become harder than alloy, her muscles, her bone, her fat tissue, even her hair and nails and it was the latter who caused the greatest damage to Uriel as he was stabbed by the open palm like an oddly shaped spear.

"Just one more fight..." With a jagged breathing and eyes devoid of hope, Uriel repeated to himself the words that had become his new mantra.

The situation was dire if not worse, but Uriel was still confident in having the upper hand as his Dash skill could end the fight in but a few seconds and this time he could not afford to keep it as an ace up the sleeve anymore. His reasoning was that if it was his last fight, keeping it a secret had no meaning and that even if his friends didn't come, not using his skill would turn this into his last fight whether he wanted it to be or not.

By taking in a deep breath that sounded quite the same as a deflating balloon, Uriel calmed himself and activated Dash with a slight overcharge. Enough so he could dodge and attack at the same time, though the moment he moved for the attack the husband revealed his trait.

It was some sort of kinetic field of debris so small it caused Uriel a great deal of pain. To most people it would have felt like a wind breeze carrying dust, but due to his movement speed it was akin to a concrete wall ridden with needles. The pain it caused and the shock of not expecting it, turned Uriel into the likes of a maddened beast.

Without his friends the city felt foreign and empty, the wounds throughout his body were hot coals threatening to become a wild fire, and the pressure of the tournament was the boiling water slowly turning into steam. In short, it was a recipe for disaster as Uriel's carefully planned movements turned into a rabid onslaught of whatever he could do.

"It doesn't matter how fast you are, you can't penetrate my field." The husband scoffed with confidence and his wife would have likely wanted to add something, though she could not deactivate her trait for a second as Uriel poked at them from all directions trying to find a weak spot.

When that failed, Uriel waited for the next attack and instead of blocking he grabbed onto the woman's leg that was about to be used like a spear. His first instinct was to break it with his elbow, but just the touch of her steely leg made Uriel realize that nothing short of orichalcum could break it.

With Dash active, though, his kinetic force was applied in a shorter span of time which likely gave him a chance at breaking it or at least bending it. He used all of his might and even channeled some extra flux into his attempt to the point where a semblance of wings came off from his shoulders acting like a vent for the flux he could not use.

"You can't break her either, my wife is the perfect weapon made of the strongest material known to men." The husband said.

"Are you implying that she's met them all?"

"How dare you, you little shit!" The husband expanded his field, though without Dash active it was truly nothing to be afraid of for Uriel. A little sand inside his clothes, debris in his eyes and a hundred wounds all over his skin like papercuts were nothing new to him.

Seeing how defensive the husband was about his wife, Uriel had an idea. It was not a good idea in any regard, but at that point Uriel would have gone with anything. He could not activate Dash without extending the suffering caused by the many wounds and he also could not yank the wife from the husband, since he had a solid hold due to her wife adopting a shape perfect for her husband to grasp.

And so, Uriel did the unthinkable.

"What is that man doing!?" Shouted one of the commentators that up until that point had been focused on the fight between the Mapple corporation and the Monsalvo corporation which ended in a tie.

"Is this allowed? Someone please check the guidelines before this goes too far." His partner added.

"I don't care if it's allowed, someone stop him!"

Silence ensued in the stadium and all the eyes were nailed to Uriel and his misdeed as he proceeded to rip off the clothes on the wife, but he did not stop there.

"Stop spanking my wife you fucking pervert!" Shouted the husband in a vain attempt to stop Uriel from doing precisely what he was doing.

"What? Can't you see that she likes it?" He said with a grin as he gave her yet another spank in the rear.

"I'm not! He's lying!" The wife cancelled her trait in an attempt to release herself from Uriel's grasp, but that only allowed him to dig his fingers into her flesh like she was made of marshmallows. The pain she suffered was sufficient for her to immediately activate her trait out of instinct, but this time her position was awkward and her expression froze in that of pain.

Any sane person who cared for his wife would have surrendered, but the husband was now the angriest he had been. He and his wife were not defeated, but humiliated in a horrible way in front of the entire city and he could not leave things as they were.

"You asked for this." The man channeled all of the flux he could muster as the small field of debris turned into a proper sandstorm that expanded outward from his position to cover the entirety of the stadium. The crowd became unable to see what went on and the rest of the fights had to be suspended due to the outside intervention, but the man did not stop as the winds now raged against Uriel.

The sandstorm held such power that anything that came in contact was either polished or sanded down, but that did not stop Uriel and he went even further.

"Stop fondling my wife you..." Words died in his mouth when he realized that Uriel wasn't grabbing on to the woman's body to get off or even to annoy him, but rather to get a firm hold of her to use her as a weapon the same as the husband did.

Uriel was stronger and faster than the husband and it showed by the ease with which he waved her around the moment the husband lost the grasp and soon enough the sandstorm died as Uriel hit the man with his wife, the so called perfect weapon.

Noticing this, the woman cancelled her trait just in time just to avoid becoming the weapon that ended her husband's life, but in doing so she had to sacrifice her skin as the sandstorm was the strongest near her husband.

When the sandstorm cleared the victor was evident, but not a single soul celebrated Uriel's win.
