Dumped By My Husband, I Became A Billionaire Heiress

Chapter 14: Chapter 14

The address she sent was a far cry from their house; she could only stare at her phone and back at Lucas.

"Are you okay?" he asked, wondering what she saw on her phone and hoping it wouldn't interrupt their conversation. But she was done and all she wanted to do was to see her mother, although a lot had been said about her that was highly irritating and was good enough to avoid talking to her. She still cares about her regardless of her flaws.

"Yes, I am," she replied, acting all strong when it was still obvious to her that she wasn't okay.

"Are you sure? You can talk to me about anything." he sat very close to her and awkwardly put his hands on her shoulder, and surprisingly, her body reacted to that touch, wanting more of it and reminding her of how his touch made her body shake violently, goosebumps all over her body. She closed her eyes and thought to enjoy the moment for a while.

"Okay, you may have to take your leave." she didn't want to forget about her mother, so she would not allow little minutes of pleasure and fantasy to hinder her from doing things at the right time. Also, she didn't trust Lucas, even though he looked like a piece of chocolate that she wanted to eat slowly and gently.

"Are you sure about that?" One thing about Lucas is the fact that he is so good at noticing when someone wants what he wants too. He looked into her eyes and somehow saw it in her eyes that she wanted him just as bad as he did.

Knowing what she needed at that time, he slowly held her right hand, and she took a look at him, seeing what she needed to see: desire in his eyes.

Before they could process what they were thinking, they were already having their lips on each other's, their hands going on an adventure on their bodies. He gently laid her on the chair as they kept kissing passionately, exploring her lips and body, just the way he remembered how she liked it.

Lizzy was enjoying every bit of it, and she let her pleasure take away her fears. She watched as his hands went into parts of her body that made her go out of the world and back. All she wanted was to be with him and him alone at that point. But how about Mia's message? She told her to come over to the address immediately,

"Stop it!" she said to him, getting over herself and becoming more concerned about her mother and being caught there by her father who was still somewhere inside.

"Why do you want to stop it? You know like I know that you want it." Without hesitating, he took his lips close to hers and ravished it like he had been dreaming about it, making her let out a soft groan.

"Stop!" but he didn't respond to her call in the midst of their lips meeting.

"Lizzy, I think there is a problem." A familiar voice said, which made Lucas and Lizzy jump out of their reverie and fantasy, but it was already too late, as he had seen them in the act.

He looked disappointed, surprised and confused at the same time. He didn't know she still had something for him, and Lizzy stared at him, apologizing through her eyes

"Caleb, it's not what you think." she didn't know how else to tell him that he was trying to force himself on her but she wanted it. It wouldn't make sense to him as it didn't to her ears either.

"No, it's fine." his face said the opposite as he decided to have a sit to make some sense out of what he just saw.

"Is this your new boyfriend?" Lucas asked in a mocking tone.

"Get out!"

"All right, I will." he raised his two hands as if he surrendered to her orders, taking his phone and buttoning up the shirt that Lizzy unknowingly loosened when they were exploring their bodies.

"We still have an unfinished matter to discuss," he said to Lizzy, but stared at Caleb as he made his way out of the house.

"Caleb, I'm so sorry you met me this way." she was confused about how she really got there, being so vulnerable to her enemy and enjoying the moment.

"No, don't apologise, I understand." he tried to maintain a smile, but she could see pain in the smile.

Just then, she remembered the way she had something to do with Mia. checking her phone again in panic, she discovered an hour had already passed since she sent the message and it followed tons of messages, asking her where she was thirty minutes earlier, and the last message was "Lizzy!!!!!"

Caleb, please, I need you to drive me somewhere. I'll send you an address, do you know the place?

Almost immediately, his phone chimed and looking at the text, he shook his head. "I don't know the place, but that's why we have Google Map, right?"

I don't think it's the right thing to do right now. Mia sent me this address, saying she knows where mum is?"

Looking confused like he was solving an enigma, he softly asked, "What? Who is Mia?" Then, she remembered she had not talked to him about her and other things she had learnt about her parents. He was still in the dark, and she needed to talk to him about everything, but just not now.

"She is my friend who knows a lot that I don't." it doesn't make sense that Mia knows a lot about her family, but she said it and this only increased his confusion.

Immediately, she got a message and hurriedly checked. It was a blurry picture sent to her and it looked like her mother. A following message reads: "They are moving her. You have an hour."

"Wait. What?" She screamed as she quickly ran upstairs to take her car key. Coming downstairs, she still saw Caleb. "Let me drive you there, please." He offered, taking the keys from her.

"Please, I can drive myself. Let me go there alone." she said, feeling guilt about the scene he had seen earlier.

"Lizzy, I cannot let you go alone. You don't look like you can drive on a normal level. You are still shaking." he insisted, visibly concerned about her.

"Okay, thank you so much." She was honestly touched by his kindness and hugged him slightly.

"Wow. All I see is love." Markus came out after several minutes, with a huge smile on his face, as if nothing had happened that day and the previous day.

"Dad, I have to get somewhere," she got a hold of herself immediately and decided to go before something else interrupts her.

"Where are you going?"

"To find mum." she said to his face, automatically changing her tone and dashing out of the house without waiting for Caleb who had the car key.

"I'm sorry, I think she is tensed by the things that have been happening." he understood that she had been going through a lot and it was only normal to misbehave.

"It's no problem," Markus said, also with the understanding that she was mad at him for so many things.

As Caleb ran out, he went into his room to get his phone, and checked his messages. Just as he was checking to see any relevant message, a text dropped like the person was waiting for him to get his phone.

You shouldn't have…..

He didn't take it seriously, thinking it was a wrong message for him. But another one dropped again immediately.

But since you did, I am coming for you too…

His heart started racing like he was in a relay race, maybe he was. He kept asking himself who this person was. He contemplated texting or calling the person to ask if the messages were for him or not. But what if they were for him?

Who are you? He summoned courage to ask the sender and waited for an immediate response. After five minutes, there was no response and he decided to forget about it until another message came in, showing a blurry picture, something he couldn't see, and his eyes were too bad to be strained.

As if the sender read his thoughts, he sent another text after two minutes:

You'll soon be tied like this.

You'll soon be lost, like your dear wife.

You'll soon be dead!

Very soon!

This did a lot to him at once. It made his chest pain him, the kind of sharp pain that he had been nursing for a while.

He wanted to call Lizzy immediately, but he thought to leave her for now. He shouldn't disturb her with his issues. He'll soon sort them out as soon as they're done finding his wife.

The ride to the place Google Map would figure out for them was so silent. A lot was going through their minds as they drove, and no one wanted to start a conversation.

"Okay, enough of this loud silence." She finally said, turning to Caleb and slightly holding the other hand that was not on the steering wheel.

"I am so sorry for everything." Somehow she felt the need to apologize for everything, from being a pain in the ass to doing something as bad as a foreplay with Lucas when he was around.

"Sorry for what? Oh please. There's nothing to be sorry for."

"No, don't say that." She had had enough of the pretense. If he wasn't offended, the car wouldn't be that silent.

"Okay. Why do you think I'm angry or offended?" He said, taking a quick look at her and back to the road filled with a lot of cars.

"I have known you enough to know whenever you are offended." He blushed a little and kept his face straight, feeling better that she noticed little things like that.

"Lizzy, I am not offended. Well, maybe a little, but I won't let that affect us." She knew he had a question, and luckily, he asked.

"Why was Lucas there? What was he doing there?"

"He wanted to tell me something he discovered about his mother and mine." She replied fast enough, elated that he could open up to ask the question that had been bothering him.

"Alright then." He flashed a smile at her, the same charming smile he flashed when they first met. She smiled back and they faced their journey to an unknown destination. When she checked the Google Map, she got distracted by a message from an unknown person. Clicking on it to check the content, she was initially short of words. Finding the right words, she said gently,

"Caleb, turn over, we need to go back home."

"Huh? Why? What happened?" He said, his eyes alternating being on her and the road.

A picture was sent to her, of her father with a phone in his hands. It looked like someone else was in the house and he took this picture. Sending the picture may have been harmless, but a caption followed: "I am with him. You will hear from me soon."

She showed him and the expression on his face turned into a very obvious fear. Immediately, he turned the wheel and headed home as she tried calling her father.

"His phone number is not connecting. What if something is wrong with him?" She said, very frantic and still calling him to expect his voice to pop up.

"Calm down, Liz. We'll be home in no time." Caleb held her left hand as she used her right hand to keep calling him.

True to his word, in less than five minutes, they were home, and she rushed inside, shouting his name as they got inside. She ran straight into his room, looking for him, and she indeed saw him, unconscious, or dead.
