Chapter 388: Ch-388: Different Dimension
As the girls walked ahead, Wang Ming discreetly created a few copies of the Abyssal Dagger and sent them traveling through shadows. He even had them strike the ground. Wherever the daggers landed, the area became corroded with darkness.
"Hmm? What are you doing here? I thought you were in seclusion," Wang Ming was brought out of his thoughts by Bai Lingxi's voice. He turned to see her looking in a particular direction. Following her gaze, he saw Feng Mei walking toward them.
"My mother told me you were heading to Jade Peak. I also missed you, darling," Feng Mei said with a playful eye-roll. Her expression brightened as she saw Wang Ming. She quickly embraced him, and Wang Ming returned the gesture.
"What's up with your robes? I thought you didn't join any peak, let alone Jade Peak," Luo Li said to Feng Mei, who was currently wearing the robes of a Jade Peak Core Disciple.
"I was always unofficially part of Jade Peak since my mother was the previous Peak Master. And besides, I'm very close with Senior Zhou Huixin, so I decided to officially join—especially since Wang Ming and you girls are joining too," Feng Mei replied, and the others nodded in understanding.
"I see. Shall we go now?" Wang Ming asked.
"Sure, but aren't you forgetting something?" Feng Mei said, raising a brow. Everyone looked at her curiously.
"What?" Bai Lingxi asked.
"Your robes," she said, pointing at their current attire.
"Oh, right," Wang Ming said as he waved his finger, instantly changing everyone's robes to the Core Disciple robes of Jade Peak.
After walking for some time, Feng Mei—who was more familiar with the route—led Wang Ming, Shi Yu, Luo Li, and Bai Lingxi to the entrance of the peaks.
"I didn't know the peaks were in a separate dimension. No wonder I never saw any peaks within the sect grounds. I always thought they were located outside the sect," Wang Ming muttered as they approached an arched stone gate, gleaming with inscribed arrays. A few elders were standing guard at the entrance.
"The spiritual energy is much denser in those places. It's said the founder discovered a dimension far richer in spiritual energy compared to the outside world. The surrounding area also became more concentrated due to the energy leakage, so the founder decided to build the sect around it. In fact, most major sects and even the royal palace are built similarly," Feng Mei explained as they stopped in front of the stone arch and saw the elders walking toward them.
"Huh, Disciple Feng Mei?" one of the elders said, slightly surprised upon seeing her wearing the Core Disciple robes of Jade Peak. Then their eyes narrowed as they looked at Wang Ming and the others, even more surprised to see Wang Ming in Jade Peak robes—especially since the peak was known for only accepting female disciples.
'Did Zhou Huixin break the rules? What's so special about him? Sure, he's better looking than most male disciples, but that can't be the only reason,' the elders thought, but quickly shook their heads. It wasn't their place to pry.
"Elders, this is Wang Ming, my Dao partner, and these are my other partners. They have been promoted to Core Disciples by the Sect Master," Feng Mei said, surprising the elders once again.
"Did you say… Dao companion?" one of the elders asked with his mouth agape, causing Feng Mei's eyebrow to twitch while the others looked confused by his exaggerated reaction.
"Yes," Feng Mei replied in a neutral tone.
"Can you show your badges? I need to verify your identities and register you all," the elder said. Wang Ming and the girls handed over their badges. The elder took them and used an array to scan and register their identities.
"Alright, you're all registered now. To enter, just point your token toward the stone arch, and you can pass through the gate. If someone tries to use another person's token, they'll be ripped apart by the arrays inscribed on the arch," the elder warned. They all nodded in understanding.
They walked toward the arch, and each of them raised their token toward it. A portal appeared, and their tokens emitted a blue glow that enveloped them, which caused Wang Ming to raise an eyebrow. One by one, they stepped into the portal and vanished.
---
As soon as they passed through the portal, they felt like they had crossed some kind of barrier, and the girls instantly felt nauseous.
"Ugh, what the hell… I think I'm going to puke," Shi Yu said, her face turning green.
"Haha, everyone who passes through the portal for the first time has the same reaction," Feng Mei chuckled upon seeing their grim expressions.
"Heavens, this place…" Luo Li said in awe, her mouth hanging open at the sight before her. First of all, the spiritual energy was at least ten times denser than outside. Then her gaze moved toward the distant peaks, which were absolutely massive. Even the smallest of them was comparable to Mount Everest back on Earth, but instead of snow, they were covered in lush greenery and rare medicinal herbs.
"Hey, is the spiritual energy here stronger than in the Cultivation Tower?" Wang Ming asked curiously.
"Eh? Of course! I've cultivated at the tower before, and even the lowest floor here has higher spiritual energy. The Cultivation Tower only has such high spiritual density because of the spirit dimension leaking energy into it," Feng Mei explained.
Gulp.
'Then just how high is the spiritual concentration inside the Spirit Dimension itself?' the girls wondered, swallowing a mouthful of saliva.
"Which one is the Jade Peak?" Bai Lingxi asked.
"That one—the smallest one," Feng Mei said with a sigh as she pointed toward it.
'That's small?' Everyone's eyebrows twitched at the disappointment in Feng Mei's tone.
As they walked toward the Jade Peak, they saw countless disciples wearing robes of different colors, each representing the Peak they belonged to.
"That's the battlefield. That's where the Peak Ranking Matches take place," Feng Mei pointed out as they passed by a massive stadium comparable to the Olympic stadium on Earth.
As they continued walking, the disciples who saw them suddenly froze and stopped what they were doing, staring at Feng Mei as if they had seen a ghost.
