Dragon Ball: The Strongest Training

Chapter 56: Trading for Stones

When she ran off earlier, Krillin seemed to be shouting something... Was he asking if they'd go for another walk tomorrow?

At the thought of this, Ciel suddenly panicked. There's no way I can go again tomorrow!

"Really not going?" she asked herself, feeling uncertain.

The thought of whether to go or not kept tugging at her heart.

"Ugh, forget it! This is so annoying!" Ciel, who had been emotionally composed for a long time, found herself losing control for the first time in ages.

"Krillin, what's got you so happy?" Skar asked, noticing Krillin grinning from ear to ear.

"Am I? Haha, maybe!" Krillin responded, clearly in high spirits. He felt like he could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thinking about what had just happened, Krillin couldn't help but feel a bit smug. Maybe laughter really was contagious, as Skar also broke into a chuckle.

Seeing Skar laugh so freely only added to Krillin's amusement. Go ahead and laugh! Just wait until I win over Ciel—then we'll see if you can still smile like that, hehe.

The day seemed to be dragging on. Krillin looked up at the sky, estimating it would still be a long time until sunset. A day on Zisan Star was longer than one on Earth.

After arriving on Zisan Star, he had earned about 100,000 units of energy. Restoring Ciel's mental strength had used up half of that. Clearly, he needed to find more energy.

"Skar, do the others here have more of those Insian Stones?" Krillin asked hopefully.

"Of course," Skar replied. "Insian Stones are native to the Perseus System, so most of us have at least a few. They can accelerate our training, though the speed boost is minimal."

"That's perfect!" Krillin's eyes lit up as an idea struck him.

"Skar, do you think I could trade senzu beans for Insian Stones?" Krillin asked, testing the waters.

"Absolutely!" Skar exclaimed, visibly excited. "Senzu beans are miraculous! With them, it feels like you've gained a second life!"

"Great. Can you help me trade these beans for Insian Stones?" Krillin said as he pulled out a small pouch containing about 100 senzu beans.

Krillin had good reasons for this trade. The 100 senzu beans in the pouch represented about 50,000 units of energy, while a single Insian Stone could contain anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000 units. Even with some variability, the exchange would yield a significant net gain.

After taking out the 100 beans, Krillin only had around 50 left. Thankfully, his "senzu plantation" would be ready for harvest in about a month. The remaining beans would suffice for emergencies.

Skar's eyes burned with excitement as he stared at the pouch full of senzu beans. "No problem! The Guard Team could really use these beans."

"Great. I'll leave it to you, Skar. Help me exchange them for Insian Stones," Krillin said with a smile.

"Of course. Thanks again, Krillin. But how should I go about the trade?" Skar asked.

"Just make sure your people get a fair deal. If the stones are similar in quality to the ones your team gave me, that's fine," Krillin replied.

"Understood. I'll go talk to Rael about this now," Skar said. He carefully tucked the pouch into his clothing and flew toward Rael's post.

"Hey, Skar! What brings you here?" Rael greeted him warmly.

Skar, looking unusually serious, said, "Rael, remember when I told you about the senzu beans?"

"Senzu beans? Of course! You said they're miraculous—they instantly healed your injuries and fully restored your energy!" Rael replied without hesitation.

Skar slowly pulled out the small pouch, opened it slightly, and said, "Well, here they are!"

"These are senzu beans?" Rael asked, staring at the pouch. Unable to resist, he grabbed one and moved to eat it.

Skar reacted quickly, snatching it back. "Don't waste it! These beans are precious—they're like a second life!"

Rael chuckled apologetically. "Sorry! I couldn't help myself. It's not every day you see something new!"

"Krillin wants to trade these beans for Insian Stones. Ask the Guard Team if they're interested," Skar explained.

"Got it!" Rael replied.

"What? Captain Skar wants to trade senzu beans for Insian Stones?" one Guard Team member exclaimed in surprise. They had already heard rumors about the miraculous beans from Skar's team. Now that the beans were here, they rushed over to see for themselves.

"Wait for me! We're coming too!" Other guards joined in, creating a commotion.

About 80 combatants gathered, their excitement palpable. Skar began recounting how the senzu bean had instantly healed his injuries.

"Captain Skar, no need to explain! We trust you! Just tell us how to trade!" one impatient soldier shouted.

The others echoed their agreement. For combatants like them, the Insian Stones weren't as crucial as the senzu beans' life-saving properties.

Skar distributed the beans based on the quantity and quality of the Insian Stones offered. For high-quality stones, he gave three beans; for most others, just one.

"Here you go," Rael said casually, dropping a small pouch of stones on the table. "Take these and give me two beans."

Skar smiled and handed him two beans without hesitation.

A short while later, the exchange was complete. Skar had gathered a small pile of Insian Stones and had three senzu beans left.

"Time to head back," Skar said to Rael before leaving.

"Are they really as miraculous as you say?" Rael wondered aloud.

Curious, Rael took one of the senzu beans he'd just received and ate it.

Instantly, he felt his depleted energy fully restored. His eyes widened in amazement.

Realizing he had only one bean left, Rael regretted wasting the first so carelessly.

Back at the tree where Krillin was waiting, he spotted Skar returning with a full load of stones.

"Mission accomplished!" Skar declared with a grin as he placed the stones on the ground and handed Krillin the remaining three beans.

Krillin stopped him and said with a smile, "Keep them. You'll need them."

Skar's face lit up with gratitude. As a front-line fighter, he understood the value of the beans and didn't refuse the gesture.

"Ding! High-energy sources detected. Total: 500,000 units."

"500,000?!" Krillin exclaimed, thrilled. He had expected 200,000 at most, so this result exceeded his expectations.

Haha, as long as the main planet hasn't been reclaimed, there's plenty of room to continue trading like this! Krillin thought. Unfortunately, his supply of senzu beans was running low, and he'd have to wait for the next harvest.

After bidding farewell to Skar, Krillin returned to his perch atop the tree.

Though 500,000 units was a significant gain, it would only last Krillin about a month and a half of training. As his power grew, his energy demands would only increase.

"Why is today moving so slowly?" Krillin muttered, feeling frustrated.

Deciding to train instead, Krillin sat cross-legged on the tree canopy, closed his eyes, and began meditating.

One minute later…

"Ugh, it's impossible! Every time I close my eyes, Ciel's stunning face pops into my head! How am I supposed to train like this?" Krillin groaned in frustration.
