Chapter 9: CHAPTER 9
c9: The Final Trump Card — Golden Frieza
When Luya suddenly used Instant Transmission, everyone was shocked!
"Wait, how did Luya just teleport? Isn't that Goku's move?! Did he… did he train with the Yardrats too?!" Krillin exclaimed, stunned.
Gohan was equally confused. "That technique… only Dad learned that after he escaped Namek's explosion. Even I can't use it yet. I taught Luya the Kamehameha, sure… but Instant Transmission?"
Gohan couldn't understand it. He'd spent time sparring with Luya, guiding him through the fundamentals of ki control but teleportation? That wasn't something he ever taught.
(Unknown to them, Luya had acquired the technique through his system, which allowed him to learn high-level moves instantly, without traditional training.)
In the battlefield, Luya's sudden attack had caught Frieza off guard. After landing a clean blow, he followed with a powerful mid-air kick, sending Frieza flying backward. Then, with another blink of golden light, he reappeared in front of him again and punched him hard in the gut!
Frieza was like a ragdoll battered back and forth, completely overwhelmed by Luya's superior speed and power.
BOOM!
"GUH!!" Frieza groaned, doubled over.
Luya raised both fists high and slammed them down onto Frieza's back, sending him plummeting like a comet! The ground cracked beneath the impact, forming a wide crater across the battlefield.
Hovering above, Luya looked down coldly, then slowly drew his hands to his waist.
The movement was unmistakable.
"The Kamehameha stance?!" Piccolo narrowed his eyes.
Krillin broke into a cold sweat. "Gohan… did you teach him that?!"
Gohan nodded slowly. "Yeah, I did... sorta."
In truth, Gohan hadn't taught him the full technique Luya had simply watched it once and used his system to instantly master it. But Gohan remained unaware of that fact.
"Turtle... HAA... ME... HAA... MEEEEE—!!!"
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!
A brilliant blue light flared in Luya's palms as he charged the blast. The golden aura around him surged, mixing with the spiraling blue energy of the Turtle School's ultimate technique.
"DRINK!!!"
He thrust his palms forward.
A massive Kamehameha wave erupted from his hands, glowing bright enough to light up the entire sky. It roared downward like a divine beam and smashed into the ground, causing the earth to quake violently.
BOOM!
The impact triggered a titanic explosion—columns of light and debris shot into the air. The energy shockwave swept outward in all directions.
"EVERYONE MOVE!!" Gohan shouted as he sprang into action, grabbing Bulma and flying her out of the blast radius.
The other Z Fighters didn't hesitate. Seeing the explosion tear apart the land, they immediately took flight and evacuated the area.
BOOM!!!
The entire island disintegrated. Rocks split apart. Trees were vaporized. Giant waves burst from the shoreline and surged outward as if the sea itself were retreating from the destruction.
Whooooooshhh...
Smoke and dust rose into the sky. The once-stable island was now a flattened ruin, the surface scorched and cratered.
Luya hovered above, golden aura radiating calmly around him. His face was unreadable.
But he didn't believe for a second that Frieza was dead.
"That wasn't his full power…" Luya muttered to himself, narrowing his eyes at the dust cloud below.
He remained on high alert.
Frieza hadn't shown his final trump card yet and Luya knew better than anyone how dangerous that made him.
On the other side, the rest of the Z Fighters had taken refuge on a neighboring island, their expressions tense as they gazed across the sea at the battleground.
"Do you think Luya can really defeat Frieza?" Krillin asked, voice tinged with unease.
Gohan shook his head. "I'm not sure. Frieza didn't come to Earth unprepared this time. He's already in his final form, but I still have a bad feeling about this…"
"I feel the same," Tien Shinhan added gravely.
"But the fact that Luya has pushed Frieza this far is already incredible," Piccolo said solemnly. "At the very least, he's buying us time... time for Goku and Vegeta to return."
Everyone went quiet at that. There was still no contact from Whis, and Bulma hadn't received any signal. Without a message from Whis, there was no way to reach Goku and the others training on Beerus's planet.
All they could do now… was wait.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
Suddenly, the ground rumbled slightly beneath their feet, and all eyes snapped back to the battle zone.
In the sky, Luya floated silently, eyes fixed on the ocean surface with growing tension. The water was churning—something was about to emerge.
BOOM!
In an instant, massive pillars of seawater erupted skyward, and a blurry figure shot out of the cascading geysers.
Luya's expression didn't change. He knew immediately—it was Frieza.
As expected, Frieza had survived.
But Luya wasn't disappointed—he was excited. The stronger the opponent, the more thrilling the battle.
Frieza rose into the sky slowly. Though his body bore scratches and signs of battle, he wasn't seriously injured. His white-and-purple final form gleamed in the sunlight, but there was a new seriousness in his expression.
Frieza hovered in silence, his crimson eyes locked onto Luya, his thoughts unreadable.
Luya smiled coolly. "Not bad. You're still standing..."
Although Luya's combat power was about 10 billion higher than Frieza's current state, the advantage had only translated into a slight upper hand in battle—proof of Frieza's superior battle experience and cunning.
Frieza finally spoke. "Your strength… it's abnormal. You don't match any Saiyan I've encountered. Who are you really? Are you truly a Saiyan from another universe?"
Luya raised an eyebrow. "And what if I'm not?"
Frieza's face darkened. "I never imagined Saiyans from another universe could reach this level. Does your universe have a version of my race as well?"
Luya was surprised. How does he know about Universe 6? He wasn't from there, but he knew that Universe 6 also had Saiyans and a being similar to Frieza, named Frost.
Frieza noticed the shift in Luya's expression and smirked. "So I was right."
Luya shook his head. "Enough talk. I didn't come here to chat, I came to defeat you."
"'Bragging'? What does that mean?" Frieza frowned.
"Uh…" Luya blinked. Right—some of his speech patterns didn't exist in this universe. "It's slang. It means boasting. Showing off."
Frieza narrowed his eyes. "Are you some kind of foreigner?"
Luya glared. "You know the term 'foreigner'? You're more cultured than I thought."
Frieza's eyes turned cold. "You dare mock me? You really believe you can defeat me?"
Memories of his previous defeat at the hands of Goku and Vegeta burned in his mind. He couldn't let it happen again.
Luya smirked. "You're still holding back. I know you haven't shown your true form yet. So go ahead… transform."
"...What?!" Frieza stiffened. His face froze in disbelief. "How do you know about… that form?!"
His Golden Form was his most powerful trump card, developed after months of intense training. Not even his own soldiers knew of it.
Luya smiled knowingly. "Let's just say… I'm very familiar with your story."
Frieza: "..."
"Come on, show me Golden Frieza! Otherwise, this fight's going to be boring!" Luya taunted, eyes sharp with anticipation.
Frieza's grin faltered. The fact that Luya not only knew he could transform but also knew what he would become terrified him more than he let on.
What was this Saiyan's true origin?
But now, there was no choice. If he didn't transform, he'd lose. And if he lost… everything he'd planned would collapse.
"Hmph. I intended this form as a gift for Son Goku… but you leave me no choice."
Frieza clenched his fists, and suddenly
RUMBLE!!
A tidal wave of violent energy exploded around him, golden sparks dancing in the air. The sky darkened, and the ocean below surged.
The final trump card… was about to be revealed.
