Chapter 12: CHAPTER 12
c12: The Rebirth Technique Appears! Duo Returns
BOOOOM!!
When Luya unleashed the Super Turtle Style Qigong, everything in its path was completely obliterated. The sea was torn apart, a vast canyon of steam splitting the ocean in two. Even the atmosphere above had been pierced, with shockwaves echoing into the upper sky.
Entire columns of seawater evaporated, leaving behind a churning void of steam and shattered waves. As far as the eye could see, there was no end to the destruction.
This wasn't just any Kamehameha—it was a technique powered by Luya's full ki reserve, launched while his combat power had surpassed 11 trillion.
Even the Z Fighters were stunned.
Who could have imagined the level of destruction such a move could unleash?
Had he launched it directly downward, it's very likely the entire planet would've been vaporized.
"Ha… ha… ha…"
Luya remained in a firing stance, his arms trembling and chest heaving. His entire body ached with exhaustion, his ultimate move had taken a toll.
Whoooosh…
The turbulent aura around him began to fade. The once-dominant crimson glow of the Kaio-Ken had vanished, and only the golden light of his Super Saiyan form remained.
Luya's body could no longer sustain Kaio-Ken x7. His stamina had drained past the limit. Even his Super Saiyan 2 transformation collapsed, reverting him to base Super Saiyan.
He had spent everything.
"That guy... he's got to be finished, right?"
The Z-Warriors stood in silence, staring at the massive beam crater across the sea. It was like watching the aftermath of Goku's legendary Kamehameha against Cell.
Even Cell was nearly disintegrated, and Luya's attack now was several magnitudes more powerful. If Frieza had taken it point-blank
There's no way… right?
Hope lit their expressions. For once, it seemed they might have won without needing Goku or Vegeta to intervene.
But not everyone was convinced.
"Something's wrong," Gohan said, frowning deeply.
Piccolo nodded, his expression grim.
Unlike Krillin and the others, Gohan and Piccolo had fought life-or-death battles.
They knew what unease felt like.
Luya wasn't celebrating. His body was tight, aura flickering. He was still on guard.
"No... He's still alive."
And sure enough
[Ding! Alert: Frieza's energy signature detected. Task incomplete. Keep fighting…]
Luya's face darkened. "Figures."
Suddenly, everyone turned in the same direction, their heads snapping toward the ocean.
Luya's eyes widened.
His whole body broke into a cold sweat.
Something was rising from the sea.
First, a pale head, then a shredded torso. Finally, the entire figure emerged, floating ominously above the shattered water.
Frieza.
He was still alive.
Barely but breathing.
The Z Warriors froze in shock.
Frieza's Golden Form had completely dissipated, and his body was in ruins one arm missing, half his torso blown away, his tail nearly severed. Sparks of energy flickered around him like dying embers.
But his eyes still burned with hatred.
Luya, still panting, gave a dry laugh. "You're really persistent, aren't you?"
Frieza sneered, his face twitching with fury.
"Damn it... Damn you... DAMN SAIYANS!!"
His body surged with energy again but something was different.
Suddenly, his mangled torso began to squirm, pulsing unnaturally.
"Piccolo!" Gohan shouted. "Is that?"
Piccolo's eyes widened.
"He's regenerating! Now, while he's vulnerable—HIT HIM!!"
Luya was stunned.
"What?! He can regenerate like Piccolo? When was that ever a thing?!"
He didn't hesitate. Luya fired a rapid volley of ki blasts, hammering Frieza's regenerating body with explosions.
But
FWOOOM!!!
A violent surge of purple energy burst outward, clearing the smoke in an instant.
Frieza floated within, completely restored.
His arm had regrown. His waist was whole again. His tail had returned. The injuries were gone—as if they never existed.
Luya's eyes widened in disbelief.
"No way…!"
Frieza rolled his shoulders and clenched his fists, his face calm now.
"You're the first to ever force me to use this ability," he said flatly.
"Rebirth?" Luya repeated, his voice low and cautious.
Frieza nodded, not smiling.
"You monkeys aren't the only ones with hidden evolution."
Frieza laughed coldly, his golden aura flickering around his restored body.
"Yes… Regeneration. A secret technique I've never revealed until now. I only use it when I have absolutely no other choice."
His tone grew proud. "I am not just any lifeform I am a supreme being, born of the strongest biology in the universe. After my reconstruction with cosmic biotechnology and bio-enhancers by my father's empire, my body was restructured using adaptive matter. As long as my core remains intact and there's matter around me, I can reconstitute myself. I can be… reborn."
Luya frowned sharply, then narrowed his eyes.
"If that's true, why didn't you use it back when Goku and Trunks defeated you?"
The question struck a nerve.
Frieza's expression twitched his smile vanished.
"Tch…"
His voice lowered, icy and bitter.
"Against Son Goku, I had no time. No chance to regenerate. He pushed me to my absolute limit on Namek, my body was already destroyed from the strain of 100% Full Power. And if I had tried regeneration, I would've lost control. I wouldn't have been able to fight Goku at all, let alone in his Super Saiyan form. He would have annihilated me permanently."
He paused, his voice trembling with fury.
"As for that Super Saiyan brat—Trunks"
Frieza's eyes glinted with hate.
"He didn't even let me speak. That blasted sword... I never even saw the slash coming. I was vaporized before I could think, let alone activate regeneration."
And then, Frieza suddenly snapped
"It's all because of you DAMN SAIYANS!!" he roared, his golden aura flaring violently.
"A race of dirty-tailed monkeys! You were supposed to serve under ME, Frieza—the Emperor of the Universe!! But instead, one after another, you've humiliated me! Over and over and over again!!"
He snarled, glaring at Luya.
"Enough talk. I assume you've stalled long enough to catch your breath. So… shall we begin again?"
Luya clenched his fists. He had been stalling.
Though he'd recovered a little ki, he hadn't regained enough to transform back into Super Saiyan 2, and the Kaio-Ken was completely off the table.
Frieza may have taken damage from the last attack, but even post-regeneration, his power was still overwhelming.
This was going to be a brutal fight.
Frieza raised his hand casually, grinning.
"So? Want to surrender now?"
His tail flicked lazily behind him.
"If you kneel and beg for your life, I might consider sparing you."
Luya smiled grimly, blood still staining the corner of his mouth.
"Surrender?" he echoed, his voice unwavering.
"I'm Saiyan. I'd rather die standing than live as your dog. I'll never bow to you."
Frieza's face immediately darkened.
"Then DIE!"
He shot into the sky, golden aura blazing, and extended his arm outward. At the tip of his finger, a dense orb of red energy began to condense.
It grew rapidly five meters, ten, then twenty meters wide—radiating intense heat and destructive energy.
"Hoh hoh hoh… I've had enough fun."
His voice twisted with sadism.
"Now, I'll destroy you and this miserable mudball once and for all!"
Frieza hurled the massive energy sphere down toward the Earth below!
Luya's eyes narrowed. He could feel it—this wasn't a bluff. That blast had enough power to annihilate the entire planet.
If he couldn't stop it… Earth would be gone.
What now?!
His hand moved instinctively toward his side was it time to try the Great Ape transformation, even if it risked losing control?
But before he could act
Whoosh!! Whoosh!!
Two blinding lights streaked through the sky and appeared before him, shielding him from the descending sphere.
Luya's eyes widened.
"What?!"
As the dust cleared, two familiar figures stood tall, bathed in golden light.
"You're late!" Luya smirked, exhaling in relief.
"GOKU!!"
"VEGETA!!"
Krillin, Gohan, Piccolo, and the others shouted in surprise and joy.
The two warriors—Son Goku, in his orange gi, and Vegeta, clad in his white and blue armor.stood between Luya and the attack, expressions calm and deadly.
They had arrived.
Just in time.
