Dragon Ball: Reborn as King Cold

Chapter 6: Chap6: Prepare

After finishing my meal and speaking with my servant, Blizza, it was time to train. Unlike other species, I didn't require much rest, and frankly, I wasn't in the mood for idleness.

The problem was… I wasn't exactly sure where to begin.

My Ki control was already exceptional, that much was clear.

But beyond that?

I had no reference for how to properly train a Frost Demon. And as for Frieza… well, I only knew that at some point, he had trained and achieved a power level beyond imagination. But how he had done it? That was a mystery.

'No matter. I'll figure it out myself.'

To begin, I focused on sensing the Ki of the individuals around me.

It was a simple concept in theory but required deep concentration. Frost Demons had an inherent sensitivity to energy, but we had always relied on Scouters to measure power levels instead of training our own perception. This was a flaw I intended to correct immediately.

I closed my eyes, pushing aside external distractions.

I filtered through the countless energy signatures on Planet Cold, searching for one that I knew well.

And then, there.

Blizza.

Her Ki was refined, controlled, and steady, much like her composed personality. I could now pinpoint exactly where she was, even without looking.

Now came the next step.

Sensing Ki was one thing, but Instant Transmission, that was a must-have for me. It allowed near-instantaneous travel to any location, as long as I could lock onto a Ki signature. If mastered, it would make me an even greater threat than I already was.

I envisioned Blizza's Ki in my mind, making it my focal point.

From what I understood, the technique worked by synchronizing one's Ki with the target and then pulling oneself through space toward it.

Lock onto the Ki. Make it your destination. Will yourself to be there.

For a split second, I felt something shift, as if my body was being pulled through a tunnel of energy, but then it collapsed, and I was still in the same spot.

I scowled. Not good enough.

Again.

This time, I focused harder, letting the sensation of Blizza's Ki consume my mind. I reached out, mentally pulling myself toward it.

And then—

The world around me blurred.

I was standing directly behind Blizza in the palace halls.

She turned sharply, visibly startled. "M-My king?!"

I smirked.

'Not bad for a first try.'

I waved a hand dismissively.

"Continue what you were doing, Blizza."

She gave a slight bow. "As you wish, my king."

With that, I turned away, making my way back toward my chambers.

As I entered my private quarters, the thought that had been lingering in my mind resurfaced.

I had spent my entire existence in this restricted form, the one that suppressed my overwhelming power. Unlike Freezer or Cooler, I only had one reduced form.

If I was going to train, if I was going to push beyond the limits that my past self had never cared to test, then I needed to see what I was truly working with.

I stepped into the center of the chamber and exhaled.

Slowly, I spread my stance, clenching my fists as I began to channel my power inward.

"HUUUUUUUUUUUH!!"

A surge of energy erupted from within me, shaking the very air around me. My body began to shift.

I remained tall, imposing, and muscular.

However, my form became more refined, my once bulky frame sculpting itself into something more powerful, more efficient. My armor-like bio-exoskeleton smoothed out, becoming sleeker while maintaining its intimidating presence. My muscles compacted, making me leaner yet undeniably stronger.

Most noticeably, my large, crown-like horns began to retract, pulling inward into my skull until they vanished completely, leaving my head sleek and streamlined.

My tail lashed through the air, slicing through the atmosphere effortlessly as my transformation stabilized.

And then, silence.

I opened my piercing crimson eyes, rolling my shoulders as I adjusted to the sensation.

This was it.

The true King Cold.

My power felt different.

A slow, satisfied smirk crept onto my face.

As I glanced down, I noticed the massive crater I had unintentionally created in the floor of my chamber. The sheer force of my transformation had shattered the reinforced material beneath me, leaving behind deep cracks that spread outward like a web.

Tch. I had gotten a little carried away.

Just as I was admiring my new form, I sensed multiple presences rapidly approaching. Within moments, Blizza, along with a few other members of my kind, appeared at the entrance, their expressions filled with shock and uncertainty. Their eyes darted between me and the damaged floor, clearly trying to process what had just happened.

For them, this was unprecedented.

King Cold, in his true form? Why ?

I could feel their unease, their silent questions hanging in the air.

I let out a small sigh, crossing my arms before speaking in a calm yet commanding tone.

"Someone needs to fix this."

They remained frozen for a second, still processing the sight before them.

I gestured toward the ruined floor dismissively. "I'll be in another chamber until it's repaired."

Their stunned expressions remained as I walked past them, but no one dared to question me.

As I left, I could hear their hushed whispers behind me.

After spending several days in my true form, I had grown completely accustomed to it.

It had become natural, as it should have always been.

I had spent this time testing my control, refining my precision. Unlike , I could tell that this body was already perfected from the start. The only thing I lacked was the experience of using it in battle, something I would correct soon enough.

And yet... as much as I enjoyed my natural state, I knew that remaining in it at all times wasn't the best course of action.

There was power in appearing restrained, in keeping people wondering just how strong I truly was.

So, with a deep breath, I let my body shift once again.

My mass expanded, my bio-armor thickened, and my horns regrew, emerging from my skull in their previous regal shape. My bulk returned, restoring the towering, dominant frame that all had come to recognize as King Cold.

This form was slower, heavier, less refined than my true state.

But it served its purpose, for the moment.
