Chapter 22: Chapter 22

Chapter 22: Clearing Out Frieza's Remnants

BOOM!

A massive Ki blast engulfed the self-proclaimed emperor of the universe before he had a chance to transform. Frieza, once a tyrant whose very name struck fear across the galaxy, only had time to scream a single "No!" before vanishing completely from existence.

Saigo's full-powered Super Ki Wave didn't dissipate after obliterating Frieza. It continued to tear through space, heading straight toward other large spacecraft with unstoppable momentum.

RUMBLE!

The energy wave struck three massive ships in quick succession. They all exploded into fragments, leaving only scattered debris—now space junk.

"King Frieza!" xN

Onboard the other ships, Frieza's remaining forces wailed in grief.

Meanwhile, Frieza's soldiers, locked in fierce combat against the Great Ape army, froze as they heard the devastating news.

"Impossible!"

"This can't be true!"

"How could King Frieza fall to the Saiyans!?"

"The King is dead! Everyone, flee for your lives!"

"Aaaaaahhh! Run!"

In an instant, Frieza's army collapsed in fear, their only thought being survival.

While the terrified soldiers fled, the Saiyan warriors, in their Great Ape forms, roared in triumph.

"ROAR!" xN

"ROAR!" xN

"ROAR!" xN

"King Saigo is invincible!"

"King Saigo is invincible!"

"Long live King Saigo!"

"Long live King Saigo!"

"Warriors, charge! Destroy their ships! Don't let a single one escape!"

"Yes!" xN

"Attack!" xN

The Saiyans, now united and full of fighting spirit, unleashed their fury on the crumbling remnants of Frieza's forces.

Saigo, after obliterating the larger spacecraft, turned his attention to the swarms of smaller, spherical escape pods. However, the sheer number made it inevitable that a few lucky cowards managed to escape the chaos.

Of course—

Those who were part of Frieza's elite forces weren't so fortunate. Saigo personally hunted them down, sparing no one.

Captain Ginyu, for instance, wouldn't even get the chance to live as a frog in this timeline.

As for the lesser remnants, they were insignificant. Cleaning them up could wait. Surrender? Not a chance. This wasn't the time to take prisoners.

Thus, out of the hundreds of thousands within Frieza's army, nearly all were annihilated.

Since Saiyans couldn't survive in the vacuum of space, a few enemies tried to exploit this by fleeing into the void. But Saigo pursued them relentlessly, eliminating them one by one.

When the battle finally ended, the Saiyan squad responsible for the "Artificial Moon" destroyed it, causing the Great Apes to revert to their humanoid forms.

Saigo, remaining in his Super Saiyan form, allowed every Saiyan to witness what a true Super Saiyan looked like.

"King Saigo! King Saigo! King Saigo!"

Vegeta III, back in his human form, was the first to kneel and cheer. Soon, more Saiyans joined in, their chants growing louder and louder.

"King Saigo! King Saigo!" xN

Their cheers echoed across the skies of Planet Vegeta.

Some even shed tears—an extremely rare sight among Saiyans.

The small, golden figure floating in the sky loomed impossibly large in their hearts at this moment.

For the first time in Saiyan history, their hearts were united as one.

Perhaps, when they first received the order to rebel against Frieza, many were terrified. Some doubted the plan, and even when transformed into Great Apes, hesitated to join the fight immediately.

But witnessing Frieza's forces being crushed by the elite warriors gave them hope for victory. With that, they roared into battle, hastening the pace of triumph.

Their initial fear was understandable. Frieza's tyranny had long left them traumatized.

Once, Frieza held a tournament on Planet Vegeta. Officially, it was called a "contest," but in reality, it was a massacre. Frieza's elite forces slaughtered every Saiyan participant, even those in Great Ape form, proving they were no match.

This forced the previous King Vegeta to kneel before Frieza, though he harbored a deep desire for vengeance.

That event left a scar in the hearts of Saiyans and was one of the reasons why their mid- and high-level warriors had become so few.

Back then, there were over a hundred high-level warriors and more than two hundred mid-level warriors. Now, the combined total of mid- and high-level fighters barely reached 150, with high-level warriors reduced to just over thirty.

How could the Saiyans not hate Frieza?

"Warriors, we've done it! Celebrate to your heart's content!" Saigo hovered in the air, arms spread wide, amplifying his voice with Ki to address everyone.

BOOM!

"We won! We've won!"

"Long live King Saigo!"

The Saiyans erupted once more, their cheers as deafening as thunder. Their cries of victory echoed endlessly, clearing the skies of clouds. The gray and white masses seemed to drift away as if alive, making way for a brighter future.

Later, this day would be recorded in Saiyan history as the Day of Saiyan Ascension—the day the Saiyan Dynasty officially announced its rise to the universe.

King Saigo was revered as the prophesied Super Saiyan God, destined to lead the Saiyans to glory.

Meanwhile...

On one of Frieza's monitoring planets, the scene was drastically different.

Monitoring Center Planet

The place was in utter chaos. Alarms blared, and shouts filled the air.

"This has to be a joke! King Frieza was killed?"

"Unbelievable! The Saiyans managed to kill King Frieza and nearly wiped out his entire army? When did the Saiyans become so strong?"

"Why does that even matter right now? Hurry up and report this to King Cold! If you delay, your life is forfeit!"

"Y-Yes, sir!"

The officer, drenched in cold sweat, muttered to himself, "So it's true… The earlier report of a power level exceeding two hundred million on Planet Vegeta was real! This can't be allowed to spread… Sorry, Razo, and you too, operator. No! I'll have to silence everyone in the monitoring room…"

Soon after, several lives were mysteriously snuffed out.

Not long after, King Cold received the news of Frieza's death at the hands of the Saiyans.

"What did you say? Frieza was killed by Saiyans?" King Cold's expression twisted in disbelief. He shook his head, as if trying to wake from a nightmare.

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible! I've seen the Saiyans myself—they could never be a match for Frieza!"

"Could it be… someone else intervened?"

The thought made him shake his head again.

"No, the chances of that are slim. There's no one in the North Galaxy with power greater than Frieza's!"

"And others wouldn't dare interfere so easily!"

"Could it be the Super Saiyan of legend, as spoken of by our ancestors? That must be it! Is the Super Saiyan truly that powerful?"

"Hey, Intelligence Officer! Do we have any data on the enemy's power level?"

"Yes, my lord. Reports from Frieza's men indicate the enemy had a power level of over two hundred million. However, I haven't had time to verify its accuracy!"

Hearing this, King Cold's eyes widened, his voice involuntarily rising.

"Two hundred million?!"

"No wonder Frieza lost! Even in my current form, I wouldn't stand a chance. I'd need to transform into my final form to deal with such a foe!"

"This cannot stand! To think a mere power level of two hundred million dared to kill my son. I will have my revenge—and quickly, before any unforeseen complications arise!"

"Zoffield! Order all troops to assemble immediately. We're attacking Planet Vegeta!"

"Yes, my lord! At once!"

"Wait! How long would it take us to reach Planet Vegeta at full speed?"

"At best, my lord, about half a year."

"Half a year? That long? Fine, no delays. Prepare to depart at once and move at maximum speed!"

"Understood, my lord!"
