Chapter 137: Chapter 137 – Do You Know Dragon Ball?
Chapter 137 – Do You Know Dragon Ball?
"I don't need your soul."
Yamcha shook his head. He wasn't some demon from hell—what would he want with someone else's soul?
"Nor do I need your eyes."
The Mangekyō Sharingan certainly sounded like a powerful ability, but it wasn't of much use to Yamcha. Especially since his innate ability to "break the fourth wall" was far more effective than that Kamui dimension.
"But I can tell you how to bring that girl back to life."
Yamcha then spoke to Obito in a mysterious tone: "Do you know about the Dragon Balls?"
With a brain nearly devoid of general knowledge, Obito thought for a moment—then decisively shook his head.
"N-No... I don't."
"It's a legend passed down for hundreds of years. It's said that if you gather all seven Dragon Balls, you can summon the Eternal Dragon, who can grant you any wish."
Yamcha shared the tale of the Dragon Balls with Obito.
"Grant a wish?! Any wish at all?!"
Obito's eyes began to shine. A seed called hope slowly started to sprout in his heart.
Rin's death was inseparable from Madara Uchiha—it was, in fact, orchestrated by him. The Three-Tailed Beast was implanted in Rin by Madara's scheme, all to destroy Obito's hope and manipulate him into believing in the Eye of the Moon Plan, to cooperate with Nagato, and ultimately resurrect Madara himself.
What Yamcha aimed to do was give Obito a new hope—you could even say he was intercepting Madara's plot.
Obito may not have been the brightest, but if Madara had chosen him, his talent was definitely exceptional.
He awakened the Sharingan with two tomoe right off the bat, and then quickly evolved to Mangekyō. That kind of talent far outshined someone who had to witness their entire clan being slaughtered and their parents killed in front of them just to awaken a single tomoe.
"Of course it's real. Even if your wish is something as absurd as immortality—it can be granted."
As he spoke, Yamcha glanced at the special 'coat' Obito was wearing—White Zetsu's special individual, "Tobi." A powerful creature that significantly boosted its wearer's physical abilities and ninjutsu.
The only downside was that it talked too much—a total chatterbox with the bizarre habit of asking people about their urge to defecate.
At this moment, however, it was very quiet. It was only because Obito wasn't that familiar with it yet that he didn't notice. From the very beginning, Yamcha had already taken control of "Tobi." Never underestimate the power of a spiritual-type mage—especially one with many magical artifacts.
"I don't need anything else! As long as Rin can be brought back, that's enough!"
Obito declared he wasn't greedy.
Obito, before his descent into darkness, was technically a good person. He would help old ladies cross the street, assist lost villagers, carry things for others, avoid black cats due to superstition, and even treat injured ones with care.
Maybe that was why Rin liked him.
The reason he became a late-stage boss? Well, blame it on the ninja world—where six-year-olds are sent to war.
"Where can I find these magical orbs you mentioned? The Land of Fire? The Land of Wind? The Land of Water? If I'd known, I would've paid more attention back in the ninja academy."
Obito racked his brain trying to think, but with his near-zero common sense, he had no clue. No textbook ever mentioned Dragon Balls.
"They're not in this world."
With that one sentence, Yamcha stunned Obito again.
From heaven, back to hell.
"I can take you to that world."
Hell burst open, and once again, he soared into heaven.
"But are you sure you want to go? It's an unfamiliar world—you might die at any moment."
"Yes!"
Obito's gaze was more determined than ever, and he nodded firmly. As long as he could revive that girl, he no longer cared about life or death.
"I can take you there, and I'll even give you a machine to locate the Dragon Balls. But I won't help you for free. I want you and that girl to work for me after your wish is fulfilled."
"And remember this: you only have one year. If someone has been dead for over a year, not even the Eternal Dragon can bring them back."
Indeed, the early version of Shenron had that limitation—also, a person could only be revived once, and natural deaths couldn't be reversed. These limitations were removed later, which is why the Dragon Balls were criticized by the Supreme Kai of 15 generations ago for disrupting the natural order.
"But you're not the only one who wants the Dragon Balls. And your current strength... is a bit lacking."
Yamcha looked Obito up and down. After opening the YGGDRASIL data panel, a big LV63 hovered above Obito's head.
This indicated Obito's current level was 63.
"Time is tight, but you'd be better off becoming stronger first."
The Black Ribbon Army was already collecting the Dragon Balls—conflict between them was inevitable. While Obito could easily deal with small fry, things would change if he encountered someone like General Blue. Ordinary bullets and cannons were one thing, but elite opponents would turn the tables fast.
In truth, aside from personal power-ups, Yamcha had another project: the Earth Upgrade Plan.
The Dragon Balls were part of that plan.
Yamcha casually tossed out a capsule. A spaceship-like device appeared. He turned to Obito and said:
"Put your beloved girl in here. At least for the next year, you won't have to worry about her body decaying."
Obito nodded quickly. He carefully picked Rin up from the ground, gently wiping the bloodstains from her body. But when he saw the massive wound in her chest, his once-calm emotions flared up again, and his dark pupils turned blood-red.
This time, however, he didn't go berserk. He took a few deep breaths and resumed preparing Rin's body.
She lay peacefully in the pod, her expression calm—as if she were just asleep.
Obito gently stroked her cheek. His gaze mirrored the way she once calmed him as a boy.
"Rin, I swear on the name Uchiha Obito—I will bring you back!"
Throughout the entire process, he didn't spare Kakashi a single glance.
Failing to protect Rin—Obito would never forgive Kakashi for that. At least not until Rin was revived.
"Take your eye back, too."
Double Kamui is certainly better than single Kamui. And with Hashirama cells in his body, Obito's power—though not true Eternal Mangekyō—was certainly on par with it.
He silently walked to the unconscious Kakashi, crouched down, and brushed a finger across the eye socket, placing the eye into his own vacant left socket.
The Uchiha-brand USB eyeball: plug and play, hot-swappable.
After everything was done, Yamcha, Obito, and Tobi disappeared from this world.
