Dragon Ball: I, Yamcha, am the strongest in the universe

Chapter 135: Chapter 135: My World! Has Collapsed!

Chapter 135: My World! Has Collapsed!

Towering trees pierced the sky — this was a primeval forest, teeming with various creatures.

A plump caterpillar lazily munched on leaves, only to be instantly decapitated by a mantis that had been camouflaged and stalking it for some time. As the mantis prepared to feast on its prey, a large bird swooped in and snatched them both up, carrying them back to its nest to feed its hungry chicks — unaware that its entire family was now being watched by a venomous snake from not far away.

Just as the snake launched its attack, a shadow struck even faster — pinning the snake tightly to a tree trunk. The weapon was a strange, sword-like object with a handle and a sharp diamond shape — a kunai.

A figure landed on the thick branch where the snake had just been, then vanished instantly, darting through the trees with speed and agility like a monkey.

It was a boy wearing a bizarre outfit, resembling a pitcher plant — let's call it clothing for now.

Of note was that the boy's left eye was tightly shut, and the right side of his face was covered in scars, as if it had been smashed.

Yet his face wore a sincere, heartfelt smile.

"Rin and Kakashi… if those two see that I'm still alive, they'll be so surprised."

"I can't wait."

With that joyful thought, he imagined the happy scene of their reunion, his heart pounding with excitement.

Unconsciously, he picked up his pace, wishing he could sprout wings and fly to his comrades, to personally tell them the good news — that he was still alive.

This boy's name was — Uchiha Obito.

"How much farther?"

Obito muttered to himself, but another voice replied:

"Should be close. Let me sense it... Ninety degrees to the left up ahead."

The speaker was the pitcher-plant-like creature draped over Obito.

It wasn't clothing — it was a living being.

Drip. Drip.

Raindrops began to fall, landing on Obito's head.

The sky above the ninja world had suddenly turned cloudy — as fickle as a young bride's moods.

But Obito didn't care. He only wanted to return to the friends who had shared life and death with him. He only wanted to return to the girl who filled his heart.

"Found them. About a hundred meters straight ahead."

With the confirmation from the plant-creature, Obito didn't hesitate — he dashed in the indicated direction.

"I'm coming! I'm finally coming!"

Closer and closer. He was almost back with everyone.

Most importantly — he would see Rin again. He would be able to stay by her side.

Full of excitement, Obito burst out of the forest, only to witness the most unforgettable and heart-wrenching scene of his life.

In that moment, the smile froze on his face. Time itself seemed to stand still.

A flash of lightning. A thousand birds crying out — but not in joy — in anguish.

The drizzle turned into a heavy downpour, mirroring Obito's heartbreak.

His friend — Kakashi — had pierced Rin's heart with his lightning-infused hand.

Countless memories flooded Obito's mind.

Though born into the famed Uchiha clan, not every Uchiha was a genius. His parents had died on the battlefield when he was very young. He had barely any memories of them. His only family was his elderly grandmother.

He had no friends. Even kids from his own clan avoided him. Except for one girl...

"Silly Obito, you even forgot to bring your admission letter!"

That was the girl from next door, on the first day of ninja school, handing him a file larger than half her size with her tiny hands.

"Obito, don't give up! You're the best!"

That was her, standing by his side, gently comforting him when he failed.

"Obito! Stop trying to show off all the time! Take care of yourself!"

That was her again, finding out when he got hurt and tried to hide it — worried and scolding him.

That's when he realized she had always been watching him.

"Obito, become Hokage and save the world! You promised!"

She was the only one who didn't laugh at his dream — who believed in him.

"Obito, don't be sad. Your grandmother just went to a different place."

She stayed with him quietly when his last family member passed away.

"Uwah…"

Unable to hold back his sorrow any longer, Obito broke down in tears. There's nothing more painful than losing family.

"Go ahead and cry. You'll feel better."

She gently rubbed his back, soothing him. From that moment, she became his everything.

"Obito… Obito… Obito…"

Her voice in different tones echoed in his ears, etched into the core of his soul.

The memories faded, returning to the present.

Obito saw the only person he loved — die before his eyes.

"Rin..."

He opened his mouth wide, but no sound came out.

Thud. Rin collapsed to the ground, her heart destroyed. Kakashi fell too, exhausted.

"Why was it you?! Kakashi! Why did it have to be you?!"

"You promised to protect Rin!"

"Why?! Why did you break your promise?!"

A storm of emotions surged in Obito's chest — then vanished.

Only pain remained.

In that moment, Obito felt even his breathing hurt.

His remaining eye turned blood-red.

He was a member of the Uchiha clan — and the Uchiha had a special power: the Sharingan.

The Sharingan, also called the Eye That Reflects the Heart, evolves under intense emotional stimulation!

Or rather — it awakens.

The two tomoe (comma-shaped symbols) in Obito's eye became three, then began spinning rapidly until they merged into a shuriken-like pattern:

The Mangekyō Sharingan!

The ultimate eye of the Uchiha clan!

Normally, Obito would be overjoyed. But now, his eye saw only the girl with the pierced heart.

"My world…"

"Has collapsed!!!!"
