Chapter 27: Bedroom
While deep in thought, heard Cheelai and Lemo's voices from outside.
"Broly! Broly! Broly!"
"Are you there? Open the door!"
They're here.
Broly knew perfectly well that Cheelai and Lemo had been following him. He walked toward the living room, manipulated the controls, and opened the door.
"Come in."
Cheelai entered first, flopping carelessly onto the couch without a second thought, while Lemo, more reserved, stood near the entrance.
"Broly, you're incredibly strong," said Cheelai, her eyes sparkling. "I can't believe you left Freeza in the dust! That's insane."
"But with this, I feel like I can't stay in Freeza's army anymore."
She sighed deeply. "But... with this, I feel like I can't stay in Freeza's army anymore."
"That's true," Lemo crossed his arms with a worried expression. "When we decided to follow you, we knew Freeza would notice. And now, after what you did to him, he won't leave you alone. Broly, why don't we leave now? Before it's too late."
Lemo had spent enough years in Freeza's army to know what to expect from someone like him.
All he'd heard about Freeza were stories of cruelty and vengeance, but even so, he didn't regret witnessing the fight.
For someone like him, a simple mechanic in the army, seeing a battle of that level was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But, of course, he couldn't stop worrying about what came next.
Broly stared at him for a moment, his face serious but calm, then shook his head.
"Do you think I joined Freeza's army for fun?" he said, amused. "If you're worried about Freeza targeting you, come with me. I'm going to Earth."
If they decided not to join him, it was almost certain that Freeza would come after them sooner or later.
Although the exact timing was uncertain, with Freeza heading to Earth for revenge, Cheelai and Lemo's fate was practically sealed. They wouldn't survive.
Broly had already made a decision: he would take them to Earth with him. There, they could be safe and start a new life.
After all, if Freeza attacked them, it would be because of him. Not taking responsibility would be simply unacceptable.
Both of them looked at him in surprise.
"Is this... an invitation?"
"I'll think about it."
Lemo let out a sigh of relief. At least Broly was considering their situation. However, that answer left them pondering more than they expected.
"Understood."
Broly nodded calmly.
Either way, he had already decided to take them with him, whether they agreed or not. The difference would be whether he did it subtly or more directly.
Even if it seemed a bit abrupt, he was confident they would understand eventually.
"Uh… Broly, can Lemo and I stay here for a few days?" Cheelai asked, scratching her head with a slightly nervous smile. "That way, we have time to decide whether to go with you or not, hehe~."
"Sure, no problem," Broly replied without hesitation.
"Yay!" Cheelai cheered, jumping several times on the couch. "This place is a thousand times better than those horrible barracks. I knew my great Broly wouldn't let me down!"
Broly rolled his eyes, saying nothing.
"Cough… cough…"
At that moment, Lemo cleared his throat lightly, drawing their attention. He looked at Cheelai and then at Broly, his expression serious.
"I won't be staying here."
"Huh?!" Cheelai blinked, confused. "Lemo, this place is way more comfortable than the barracks. Plus, weren't you going to think about whether to go with Broly or not?"
Lemo grinned mischievously. "I'm too old for this, Cheelai. I need to leave some space for the young ones." Then he shot Broly a knowing look, as if to say, You know what I mean.
"Besides," he added, this time with a more serious tone, "why not consider things calmly? There's still time to decide before Freeza makes his move on Earth."
Cheelai shrugged. "I guess you're right... Although, honestly, you could already be a grandpa. Living with us would be a little awkward, don't you think?"
Broly gave Cheelai a sidelong glance.
And how do you think it would be more convenient for you and me, a man and a woman, to live together?
Lemo burst into laughter, raising his hand in a dismissive gesture. "Alright, alright, whatever you say. I'm off first."
Without saying more, Lemo bid farewell to Broly and started toward the exit.
"Wait, I'm coming too!" Cheelai quickly got up to follow him.
"Why are you following me?" Lemo asked, turning with a puzzled expression. "Didn't we agree you'd stay here? Broly already said it's fine."
"Yeah, but I'm not staying without my clothes. Who knows how long we'll be here. I need to grab my stuff from the barracks," Cheelai rolled her eyes. "Besides, I haven't showered in days. I need a shower urgently."
Lemo chuckled softly. "Ah, I get it, I get it. Well then, Broly, see you later."
"Yeah, see you." Broly nodded, watching as they both left the house.
Once they disappeared from sight, he headed to the bathroom. He still carried the grime of the earlier fight, and while he wasn't injured, the discomfort of not being clean bothered him.
After taking a long and relaxing shower, he left the bathroom, dropped onto the couch, and opened the Chat Group.
Bloodstained Habanera: "This 'Ki' is way more practical than Chakra, you know? You don't even need to train it like crazy. You just have to learn to handle what's already in your body."
Not the School Flower: "Makes sense. With the energy level of 'Ki,' it's logical that it's more efficient than Chakra. But… can it be used to perform Ninjutsu?"
Bloodstained Habanera: "Of course it can! Haha, now I don't have to waste points learning martial arts. I can improve my 'Ki' and practice Ninjutsu at the same time."
The Strongest Man on Earth: "Ugh! Lucky you… I also need to find a training method that works for me. Otherwise, I'll never get past this level…"
