Chapter 89: CHAPTER 89

c89: Re-entering the Hyperbolic Time Chamber

"Although you've traveled through time and space and violated the natural laws governing them, the impact has been minimal and you didn't do it knowingly. So, as long as you return to your original timeline as soon as possible, it can be overlooked," Li Xu said firmly.

"But in my world, Earth's population is still suffering terribly," Trunks argued, his fists clenched. His mother had spent more than a decade perfecting the time machine to give him a chance to go back and change the grim fate of their world.

"What's done is done. You shouldn't rely on changing the past to solve your problems. Instead of fighting for your own future, you're putting your hopes on someone else. People like that… don't deserve pity," Li Xu replied, his tone sharp.

Even if the past could be revisited, it wouldn't overwrite the original timeline only branch into a new, parallel one. The events of Trunks' world would remain unchanged.

"The androids in my world are far too strong. Even as a Super Saiyan, I couldn't defeat them," Trunks protested, voice tinged with frustration.

"It's just two androids. A Saiyan's power is far greater than that. If Super Saiyan isn't enough, then surpass it. That's the Saiyan way," Li Xu said bluntly.

The androids in Trunks' timeline Androids 17 and 18 were formidable, yes, but not invincible. Even in the main timeline, they were eventually outclassed by Gohan and later Goku and Vegeta. If Trunks trained seriously, he could close that gap.

"Surpass Super Saiyan? Is that even possible?" Trunks asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

"You don't even have the resolve to fight for your own world, and yet you expect others to fix it for you?" Li Xu said coldly. "Training yourself to become stronger is more reliable than jumping through time in hopes that someone else will clean up your future."

Zzzz!

Electric arcs flickered around Li Xu as he powered up, his golden hair spiking even further as he transformed this was Super Saiyan 2.

"So powerful!" Trunks gasped, stepping back in awe at the intensity of Li Xu's energy.

"Tch… Damn it!" Vegeta gritted his teeth, his pride wounded. He had only recently achieved the first level of Super Saiyan, but Li Xu had already ascended to a level beyond.

"I really want to get stronger... I want to fight Li Xu!" Goku exclaimed, eyes burning with excitement at the prospect of such a powerful rival.

"This is Super Saiyan 2," Li Xu said calmly. "Beyond that are Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan 4, and even 5. With such potential, how can mere androids hope to match a Saiyan's evolution?"

"Can you teach me how to train?" Trunks asked, determination returning to his eyes. With power like that, defeating the androids seemed possible.

"I'll answer that after you answer this who is your mother?" Li Xu asked, a strange curiosity flickering in his expression.

"My mother's name is Palanti," Trunks replied.

"Palanti?" Li Xu repeated, surprised. That was unexpected.

"And Bulma? What about Bulma in your world?" he followed up.

"I've never met anyone named Bulma. Maybe she doesn't exist in my world," Trunks answered, scratching his head.

"That's odd..." Li Xu muttered. The absence of Bulma one of the smartest and most influential people in this world was strange. He couldn't make sense of it now, so he let it go for the moment.

"Li Xu, what were you talking about earlier... about androids?" Goku asked, scratching his head. The conversation had moved too quickly for him to follow.

Trunks looked at Li Xu, who gave a slight nod.

"At ten o'clock in the morning, on May 12th, three years from now," Trunks began, his tone grave, "two incredibly powerful androids will appear on an island about nine kilometers southwest of South City."

"They were created by a former Red Ribbon Army scientist named Dr. Gero. His intent is to get revenge by destroying you, Mr. Son Goku."

"And then what? Did they kill me?" Goku asked, sounding more curious than afraid.

"No. You died of a heart virus before the androids even appeared. After that, everyone else was killed... except for me and my mentor, Master Gohan," Trunks said, his voice quiet.

"What a waste... not being able to fight strong enemies like that," Goku said with a tinge of regret, more upset about missing the challenge than his own death.

"Mr. Son Goku, that's what happened in my timeline. Yours is different things don't have to unfold the same way," Trunks said.

"My original plan was to go back in time, give you this special medicine to cure the heart disease, and then hope you could defeat the androids... but now, it seems that plan may not be enough."

Trunks spoke solemnly as he pulled a small bottle from his pocket the heart medicine his mother had developed after countless trials in their devastated world.

"It might not be useless. Even if your timeline and ours differ in events, there are still many parallels," Li Xu replied calmly. "Three years from now, the androids may still appear, and Goku could suffer from the same heart virus."

"Mr. Son Goku, please take this just in case," Trunks said, handing the small capsule-bottle to him with care. "It could save your life."

"Thanks, Trunks," Goku smiled and tucked the medicine into his sash. He didn't fully understand the severity of the situation but appreciated the gesture.

"In three years, I'll crush those damn androids myself," Vegeta growled. The thought that his future counterpart had been killed by artificial beings infuriated him deeply. He refused to believe such an outcome was possible.

"I can't wait to fight them," Goku said with eager excitement. "I wonder just how strong they'll be!"

"Trunks, come with me. There's a place at The Lookout called the Hyperbolic Time Chamber," Li Xu said, gesturing upward. "One day outside equals a full year inside. It's the best place for rapid training, and since you can't stay in this timeline too long, it's ideal."

This version of Trunks had no connection to Bulma, so training him wouldn't interfere with existing continuity. Li Xu himself had originally planned to enter the chamber to train.

"A place like that exists at The Lookout? That's incredible. Too bad the Lookout in my world was destroyed..." Trunks said, eyes lighting up, though the mention of his ruined world brought a shadow over his face.

"Li Xu, you never mentioned this place before are you afraid I'd surpass you?" Vegeta sneered, folding his arms, his pride clearly provoked.

"I went in when I was training at The Lookout," Goku said. "The gravity inside is ten times Earth's, the atmosphere is harsh, and the food is just basic provisions like flour. I lasted three months before coming out."

"Hmph, Kakarot, if you couldn't handle it, I'll definitely thrive in there. I'll surpass you for sure!" Vegeta said with a confident grin, already imagining himself breaking past his limits.

"The Hyperbolic Time Chamber can only be used for two days in a lifetime, and only two people can enter at once," Li Xu explained. "Trunks and I will go in first. Afterward, you can form your own groups and take your turns."

Without further delay, Li Xu took Bulma and Trunks to Kami's Lookout.

"Li Xu? What brings you back here?" Kami asked, stepping forward.

"Kami-sama, I intend to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber again," Li Xu responded with a respectful nod.

"That's no issue at all," Kami replied. "The chamber is empty now. And unlike the version that Whis or the Grand Priest redesigned for you, this one doesn't consume any divine energy to operate."

"Thanks a lot!" Li Xu smiled appreciatively.

"Trunks, take out your time machine," Li Xu said, turning to the young Saiyan.

"What do you need it for?" Trunks asked, but complied. He retrieved a capsule from his belt pouch and clicked it to reveal the time machine compact, dome-shaped, and marked "HOPE!!" on the side.

"Bulma, study it carefully. It might give you some inspiration," Li Xu told her. He had promised earlier to show her something fascinating this was it.

Bulma had long been researching temporal theories, and this fully functional time machine was a goldmine of knowledge for her.

"Got it," Bulma said, her eyes gleaming as she approached it. Her scientific curiosity was fully activated.

"Trunks, let's go," Li Xu said.

"Right," Trunks replied, following him.

Led by Mr. Popo, the two of them reached the massive door to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber its threshold looming like a gateway between worlds.

"Popo won't be going in," Mr. Popo said calmly, bowing slightly before turning and walking away.

Li Xu pushed open the towering door, and he and Trunks stepped inside the stark, endless void of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, vanishing into their year of grueling training.
