Chapter 112: The Betrayal of Dr. Gero!
The sudden silence froze the previously cheerful atmosphere.
Mu Chuan frowned slightly, feeling a foreboding sense of unease.
Greta, unable to hold back, spoke up directly, "Did something happen?"
"Why do you all look like that?"
Did something happen to Axianna?
Everyone's minds immediately went to this thought.
One of the Saiyans, Adam, a burly and intimidating figure with a distinctive bald head, spoke nervously, "Actually, while you were away, a lot happened on Earth."
"Although we have several doctors, each excelling in different areas such as training, combat, and logistics, Dr. Gero has always been an ambitious man. Even after developing many powerful androids, he never showed his true intentions."
"He kept a low profile, making us believe he was genuinely focused on developing advanced technology."
"But recently, he secretly teamed up with another strange individual and conducted covert research, creating a very powerful android."
"This android is called Number 10."
At this point, Mu Chuan could almost predict what happened next.
With such a powerful android, Dr. Gero must have developed ulterior motives. He never truly submitted to them; he was simply suppressed by their overwhelming power.
Now that he had developed significant power, new ambitions naturally arose.
But who could he have allied with?
It couldn't be Dr. Bellabe, otherwise, there wouldn't be other androids around.
These must be controllable androids.
Mu Chuan remained silent, and so did Karl and Greta. However, their expressions turned more severe, and their auras began to surge.
The surrounding Saiyans were all on edge. It had been a short time since they last met, yet they had become so powerful. If it was just the boss, it was understandable, but why were Karl and Greta also this terrifying?
The gathered Saiyans couldn't understand.
Adam glanced cautiously at Mu Chuan, seeing his emotionless face, he felt extremely uneasy.
"That Android 10 is incredibly strong, with infinite energy, the ability to absorb energy, and rapid regeneration."
"Its combat power is terrifying. Even Axianna, who had surpassed 100 million in combat power as a Super Saiyan, lost in the battle."
"And those two opened another portal and disappeared right in front of everyone."
"Since then, Axianna swore to avenge her defeat, and Dr. Bellabe is currently helping her track down Dr. Gero."
Adam and the other Saiyans continued to fill in the details, finally making it clear what had happened.
It wasn't that something had happened to Axianna; rather, they had been betrayed. This was still a relatively favorable outcome.
After hearing all the information, Mu Chuan silently breathed a sigh of relief. As long as no one was harmed, it was fine.
As for Dr. Gero...
He had always known Gero was a schemer, never one to let things lie quietly.
However, Mu Chuan had not anticipated that Gero would act so quickly, betraying them before his return.
Initially, he had planned to take the opportunity to warn Gero, but it now seemed unnecessary. Gero's betrayal was likely driven by his desire to escape Mu Chuan's control.
"Even though I expected this, it's still infuriating when it actually happens," Mu Chuan said. "At least no one was hurt."
Adam and the other Saiyans were taken aback by Mu Chuan's calm demeanor. They had expected him to be extremely angry and perhaps even take it out on them.
Seeing their reactions, Mu Chuan said, "I understand Gero better than you do. He's a man of great ambition. Controlling him is no easy task without absolute power. Since I haven't been on Earth, and you lack that absolute power, he saw an opportunity and took it. But as long as no one was hurt, we can deal with it."
The Saiyans were moved by Mu Chuan's concern for their safety.
Karl and Greta were indeed very angry, but they weren't overly worried about Gero. Even though Gero's current power surpassed that of a Super Saiyan, it didn't matter. Having witnessed Mu Chuan's battles in the Demon Realm, they considered Gero's power insignificant.
If Gero confronted Mu Chuan, regardless of what advancements he had made, his fate would be dire.
Now, they just wanted to see Axianna. They knew she must be feeling guilty for letting Gero escape, given her strong sense of responsibility.
With this resolve, they headed to Dr. Bellabe's lab, where they found Axianna and Dr. Bellabe analyzing data.
They were trying to determine where the portal led. Although Gero had escaped, they had collected ample data and video evidence.
When Mu Chuan and the others entered, Axianna and Dr. Bellabe paused their work. Axianna looked visibly ashamed when she saw Mu Chuan.
She felt she had failed in her duty to guard their base, letting a traitor slip away. She couldn't bear to face Mu Chuan, thinking herself incompetent.
As Axianna struggled with her emotions, Mu Chuan spoke first, "It's okay. He's just a small-time troublemaker."
