Chapter 199: The Second Demon Hunter Knight

In the ranking of individual strength among dragons of the same age, red dragons undoubtedly claim the first spot, while green dragons occupy a middling third position. When a red dragon encounters a green dragon, it's almost guaranteed that the green dragon will end up being pinned to the ground.

However, when a red dragon faces a group of green dragons, fleeing is the wisest choice. It's not about being cowardly; while they fear no one-on-one challenge, being outnumbered is a different story and too damaging to their pride.

Thus, as the Crimson Wing, Othrales, prepared to fly over the city of Varianthi, he noticed a group of green dragons summoned by the bloodline, occupying prime positions in the sky above the city. He wisely chose to fly around Varianthi instead.

Unknowingly, he maximized his Burning Domain, venting his anger at the audacity of these inferior green dragons who dared to look down upon him, the great Crimson Wing, Othrales.

Circling the city in frustration, just as he was about to launch an attack and break through Varianthi's defenses to assert his presence, a beam of light, formed by teleportation magic, shot up from the most magnificent Dawn Temple within Varianthi. Though much smaller compared to the arrival of the dragons, it signified that reinforcements for the temple side had arrived, somewhat balancing the forces.

From the light beam of the Dawn Temple, four figures in red robes flew out, glancing at the sky filled with bats and numerous green dragon shadows, they swiftly flew into the city's defensive magic formation to strengthen its defenses.

Meanwhile, from the teleportation formation, one priest after another, clad in robes or armored as knights, flew out. They were all human golden-tier powerhouses coming to aid.

...

"The commotion is a bit too much," a neatly bearded middle-aged man looked up at the sky with a playful smile on his lips.

"Dad! With so many evil dragons and dark races attracted here, can you handle them?" Behind the middle-aged man, a space rift opened, and a knight in golden demon-hunting armor rode out on a magical warhorse.

"I can handle them," the man stroked his beard, "but wiping them all out would be a bit challenging."

"Dad, it's just me here. Stop boasting. Just repelling these werewolves and vampires, along with all these evil dragons to protect the city, is impressive enough. Killing them all is impossible."

"You little brat, dare to underestimate your old man."

"There are two dragons close to legendary power among them, one of which is a red dragon. Are you sure you can slay them?"

"Ah, it's all because of your too conspicuous performance the night before last. Attracting so many, if it were just a few werewolves and bloodlines, I might have tried to kill them all. But now, there are so many."

"Are you using me as bait? Now that the fish are biting, you complain they're too big."

"If only the Dawn Church hadn't meddled by inviting that gold dragon. Then, the bloodlines and werewolves wouldn't have brought so many dragons."

"What's the use of saying this now? They've already started attacking." The golden knight looked up at the sky.

Four marquis of the bloodline transformed into huge bats, screeching as they attacked the defensive magic formation, while from all directions, the sounds of werewolves howling signaled their attack as well.

Amidst the dragon roars that filled the night sky, a soul-level green dragon from the summoned green dragon tribe, led by the largest among them, began to encircle Kaslana, the gold dragon elder sister...

And the golden-level green dragons, along with the bat group, sprayed their cone-shaped corrosive (acidic) breath towards Varianthi's shield.

The shield, illuminated by spiritual light, hissed as it was corroded by the green dragons' breath. Meanwhile, the circling red dragon sprayed dragon fire at the shield, rapidly heating it to redness, seemingly about to melt a passage through it.

The red dragon, eyes alight with excitement and cruelty, enjoyed the common hobby among many red dragons: destroying humanoid cities, burning their houses, and watching them wail and die in their flames.

In Muiria's view, this behavior of the red dragons was utterly childish, akin to human children urinating on ant hills, merely satisfying their desire for destruction.

"Are you not going to take action?" The golden knight turned to the middle-aged man, "Once this defense is broken, half of the city's humans will die or be injured, and half of this sin will fall on you."

"No rush. Varianthi's city defenses alone can withstand a few soul-level attacks. Now, with the addition of five red-robed archbishops and over thirty golden-tier clergy bolstering the defense, this barrier won't break anytime soon."

"These dark races are here to kill me, and these archbishops are here to protect me. This city will suffer because of me, I cannot stand by idly. If you won't take action, I'll go out and fight."

"Hey, you're threatening your old man now. Let me tell you, with your little body, you'll be turned to dust in three breaths if you leave the city."

"Step!" "Step!" The golden knight didn't reply, but his steed, clad in golden armor, moved its hooves, one hoof disappearing into the space.

He wasn't joking; if his father wouldn't act, he would leave the city to fight, fulfilling his duty as a demon hunter knight.

"Leon, stop right there. Your dad didn't say I wouldn't take action. What's the hurry?" The khaki-haired middle-aged man called out to his son, pointing at the city now in turmoil due to the besieging monsters: "Go clean up those dark creatures causing trouble in the city. They're too jumpy."

"..." The golden knight stopped, silently watching his father, whose demeanor turned from lazy to sharp as he drew his knives, ready for battle.

"Roar!" The man, once seen streaking through the streets of Varianthi, raised a short knife above his head, drawing a circle. As the circle formed, a mysterious magic formation instantly appeared, engulfing him in silver-white spiritual light.

Within the formation, pieces of sleek silver-white armor flew out, quickly equipping him.

"Swoosh!" Below him, a summoning formation emerged, and a silver-white armored warhorse, identical to the golden knight's mount, appeared, carrying the knight in silver-white armor.

"Son, watch your father's valor!" The knight, now wielding two chain-linked curved knives in the illuminating light of the summoning formation, turned his horse to face the red dragon attacking the city's protective magic formation.

As silver-white flames burned around him, the demon hunter knight prepared to cross space to confront the soul-peak red dragon, when a golden dragon claw emerged beside the red dragon...
