Draconic Pets Evolution System

Chapter 821: Plans for the Nexus Legion

"Unrealistic Evolution Path?"

Ryuk asked, watching as the Zaffre gave him a narrowed stare.

All of a sudden,

VROOOOOOM

The breeze before Ryuk's face flapped, and his eyes widened a bit when he found the tip of a silver blade just a few inches away from the tip of his nose.

Slowly, it recoiled back, coming to stand by a head.

"This…" Zaffre said as Ryuk looked at one of her tentacles.

He didn't even know whether calling it a tentacle was right anymore, as half of it had been turned into the sharp tip of a sword.

"...is an unrealistic Evolution Path."

"You can not force your genes to undergo a change that leads to the construction of a non-living entity such as a blade," She explained, with the tentacle returning to normal.

"So, that's one of your unique attributes. What should I call it, Tentacular Manipulation?" Ryuk asks, causing a glint to flash in Zaffre's eyes.

"You're quite spot on when it comes to names," She seemed to praise, but it sounded more like suspicion.

"I'm not trying to evolve myself or force any of this onto my gene in any way…" Ryuk replied, focusing back onto his computer, as she asked.

"Then, what do you plan to do with them?"

"I plan to create them," Ryuk said, pausing for three seconds, before ordering,

"Awaken Nexus Legion."

As soon as the words were spoken, Zaffree observed a milky white light appear beneath Ryuk's feet and begin to spread.

She backed away, making sure her tentacles never touched, when in the next moment.

Heads began poking out from the ground.

They were armoured beings, blue in colour, possessing various shapes.

From humanoid, to animals, from non-living shapes like a cubic one, to simply ridiculous shapes like a slime puddle.

They all came to stand around Ryuk, filling up half the lab.

"I plan to improve all of them," Ryuk called out from the front, ushering Zafree, who wiggled forward, to stand behind him, eyeing the creatures whose eyes, though flashing with blue, also bore a deathly silence.

It was clear that they were robots, but somehow, they seemed to be sentient, something she couldn't exactly wrap her head around in just a couple of seconds.

"As you can see," Ryuk said, turning to look at the Nexus Warriors.

"Their forms are pretty basic. Two arms, two legs. And even the animals only have a paw and claws around them."

"Some of them are strong enough to use some extra power, like a weapon and even activate an ability, but those are the best of them,"

Ryuk said, his eyes faintly crossing those who held grimoires.

They were his Ascendant Generals, and Zafre also picked up on the floating grimoires.

"So you plan to give them more combative definitions…" Zaffree said, and Ryuk nodded.

"Yes, but that's just for those amongst them who lean towards Combat. The Warforgers."

"Some of them lean towards defense, the Technoguards, and I plan to design them to be heavy and may reshape their body to be something like a shield or even fort-like."

"And there are also spies, which I plan to design to be more discreet," Ryuk explained, pointing to an image on the computer for Zafree.

She saw the image of a…

"A dove?"

Exactly. If the spies are designed to resemble small birds, they will be hard to notice.

"Some of them might even be able to slip through tight-nit defenses by acting as cute, cuddly, and weak doves, or stand by windows as clueless little things,"

With that body shape, all that will need to be maintained are the eyes to record and pick up more information, and the wings, in case of a needed escape.

"I'm planning on restructuring the entire units of the Neuroshades into this dove form," He said, as Zaffree hmmmed underneath her breath.

But then, a glint crossed her eyes.

"And why are you telling me your plans?" She asked suspiciously, and Ryuk replied.

"I need a listening ear."

"Any plan, foolish or good, is perfect, until it's said out loud to the hearing of others."

"So…what do you say. You think it's a good idea?"

He asked Zafree, who looked at the array of techno constructs and at Ryuk's design on the board, before forcing a nod.

'I think turning the spy ones into doves is reasonable."

"It's a form that can let them better gather information, like you said."

"But, your combat drawings are not the best."

"If you can alter physiology with transient robots and not be limited by gene alteration, and breakdown."

"Then, there are better designs," She said.

"You sound pretty… experienced in aspects like this," Ryuk couldn't help but notice, to which she rolled her four eyes.

"It's literally what my Anomalous nature is," She explained, and Ryuk thought about it for a while before deciding

A light flashed from the ring on his fingers, and a second chair appeared, with the computer screen lengthening up to 200 inches.

"How about we both do some designing…together," He offered, but all he got in turn was a scoff.

"I'm not going to be helping you," She said, watching a disappointed light faintly cross his eyes before he shrugged.

"That's fine, I guess." He said, turning back to the computer and continuing his work.

She expected him to try and force her, or at least plead for it, but all she got was Ryuk simply doing his thing with the same amount of focus as before.

Clearly, he was unbothered by being denied.

The realization gave way to a new thought in Zafre's head, and she turned to look at the army of techno warriors...

"Hey," She suddenly called out to Ryuk, who turned to her.

He noted her walk up to one of the Warforgers.

An eye-catching one because she was the only feminine-looking Warforger he had, and she was even an Ascendant General.

Ascendant General Veltrix, to be exact.

"Can you ask it not to move? I need to do something," She asked Ryuk, who urged her to go on with whatever she wanted to do.

And just 30 seconds later, he was completely blown away, as he witnessed the most abnormal changes he had ever seen possible from a being.
