Douluo: The Traveler's Adventures In Douluo Dalu

Chapter 211: Chapter 211: I Alone Am Enough

"Paimon, that voice just now—was it one of those adepti you mentioned earlier?"

Qian Renxue felt a twinge of displeasure seeing her grandfather mocked by Bibi Dong. Though irritated, she held back—after all, it was her mother on one side and her grandfather on the other. Instead, she chose to steer the conversation away.

"You mean Xiao?"

Paimon shook her head. "Nope, he wasn't one of the ones I just mentioned!"

"Huh?"

Everyone once again showed puzzled expressions.

"The ones I mentioned earlier are from the group called the Adepti. Technically, Xiao is one too~ but I usually group him under the Five Guardian akshas who served under the Geo Archon."

Paimon replied with a self-assured nod.

"Yaksha … compared to the adepti, how do they measure up?"

Qian Daoliu perked up at the mention, curiosity flashing in his eyes once again.

"That… I don't really know…"

Paimon shook her head once more, but added based on what she'd heard in old tales:

"But I do know that Yakshas fight to protect life by slaying evil. If an ordinary person were to encounter an Adeptus, they might not even notice anything. But if it's a Yaksha…"

"What? What happens?"

Qian Renxue leaned in, eyes wide with curiosity. Paimon's stories were just too captivating.

Not only her—even top-level powerhouses like Qian Daoliu and Bibi Dong, with all their knowledge of the Douluo world, had never heard of such legends from foreign lands.

"Well… Yakshas battle demonic beasts and corrupted entities all year round, so they inevitably accumulate heavy karmic burdens. If a normal person encounters one, they might fall ill—or in the worst case, even die~"

"..."

Everyone around involuntarily shivered.

"To protect life by killing… Constantly embroiled in battle…"

Qian Daoliu repeated her words under his breath.

"Just the name 'Guardian Yaksha' alone is enough to make us tremble…"

"Paimon, can you tell us more about the owner of that voice we just heard?"

Despite his unease, Qian Daoliu couldn't hide his eagerness to understand more about these Adepti and Yakshas that Paimon spoke of.

"Of course!"

Paimon tapped her chin thoughtfully.

"That voice belonged to the last surviving Yaksha —Xiao."

Then, as if struck by inspiration, she floated down to the stone table and mimicked Xiao's voice and posture:

"If you face dangers in the wilderness, encounter bandits on the road, fire, flood, or war, ghosts or poisons, wild beasts or venomous insects, vengeful foes or wicked souls—call my name.

Three-Eyes, Five-Manifestation Illuminated Immortal, Xiao, answers the call to protect!"

Just her imitation alone sent a mysterious energy rippling through the air, bringing a strange sense of calm to those present. It was as if, in the moment of danger, simply invoking his name would summon protection.

"Three-Eyes, Five-Manifestation Illuminated Immortal… is that Xiao's title?"

Bibi Dong murmured.

"Nope, that's the general title for all Adepti. Xiao's titles are The Vigilant Yaksha, The Golden-Winged King Conqueror of Demons, General Alatus.

"Of course, the Traveler and I just call him by his name~"

Paimon shared all she knew like a storyteller revealing hidden lore.

"Paimon, this Conqueror of Demons… he's from your world too?"

Qian Daoliu asked.

Given how familiar Paimon was with all this, while none of them had heard a whisper of it before, there could only be one explanation—this Adeptus, as powerful as a god, hailed from the same foreign land as Paimon and the Traveler.

"Mhm." Paimon nodded her little head. Then she suddenly looked puzzled.

"Oh right! Why is Xiao here, anyway?"

She turned toward Aether in confusion. "Traveler, do you know?"

"..."

"Eh? Traveler?"

Paimon noticed his silence and called out again.

"…Your Excellency?"

"Your Excellency?"

Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong also sensed something wrong and called out in unison.

"What the heck? Traveler actually fell asleep…"

Paimon floated below the table and peeked through the gap, only to find Aether with eyes shut, breathing steady, clearly deep in slumber.

"..."

Qian Daoliu and Bibi Dong exchanged complex glances.

They looked again toward the direction the mysterious voice had come from.

That voice… was absolutely connected to whatever strange state the Traveler was in!

But what the connection was, neither of them could fathom.

Meanwhile, Aether had already shed his physical form and was racing through the void in spiritual form toward the source of that voice—leaving only a peacefully sleeping body behind in Spirit Hall.

The moment he heard Xiao's voice, he knew something had happened to Keke and Zhuqing.

The artifact he'd gifted Keke—aside from the sealed blessing to help her grow stronger—also contained a sliver of Xiao's spiritual consciousness, bestowed back in Teyvat.

Originally, the intention was for it to be a failsafe—should Aether not be there when danger struck, the artifact could summon Xiao in his stead.

Until now, there had never been a need. With most of his power restored, Aether had never run into a situation requiring it.

But when gifting the artifact to Keke, he'd included that trace of Xiao's consciousness as a final safeguard—for the girl who had endured so much hardship since childhood.

He never thought It would be triggered so soon…

The fact that Xiao's spirit had been awakened from within the artifact meant they had encountered an enemy so powerful—even Fire Meow Meow couldn't handle it.

Worse yet—Aether could sense that the group wasn't even in Skywater City anymore.

But there was no time to worry about the details. His real body wouldn't make it in time.

So he didn't even pause to explain to Paimon, but instead launched his spirit out of his body and raced toward their location.

Somewhere in the snowy mountains, near a cliff edge.

From Xiao's appearance to the black-robed enemy being impaled and pinned down, all of it happened in an instant.

As the dust cleared, Yu Keke felt a warm presence shielding her.

She slowly opened her watery eyes and looked timidly at Xiao.

"B-Big Brother…"

Hearing her voice, Dugu Yan behind her also noticed the boy who had blocked the black-robed man's terrifying attack.

"…Thank you, my lord, for saving us!"

Though it was their first meeting, she could feel it immediately—this boy was undoubtedly connected to that mysterious lord.

Perhaps he had been sent by him to rescue them…

To Keke, however, Xiao felt even more significant.

She could clearly sense that the sacred relic her brother had given her resonated deeply with this young man before her.

"It's nothing. His matters… are my matters."

Xiao replied coldly. Realizing he sounded a bit too distant, he helped Keke to her feet and added gently:

"His sister… is my sister."

"Big Brother, are you my brother's friend?"

Keke finally regained her composure and asked quietly.

"Mm."

Xiao nodded. Then he turned, summoned his spear—Primordial Jade Winged-Spear—which withdrew from the corpse and turned into a green flash, returning to his hand.

On the other side, Tang San's group had clearly seen Xiao's arrival.

Every one of the Title Douluo immediately activated their martial spirits—soul rings lit up like a rainbow in the snowy wilderness.

"Big Brother, t-they're too many! Don't worry about us—run!"

Keke's face turned pale seeing the vast number of powerful enemies. She tugged at Xiao, pleading.

This was her brother's friend—she couldn't let him die here because of her!

Xiao looked lazily at the dozens of enemies radiating immense killing intent, then shook his head gently.

"I'm here. So you'll be safe."

"I alone am enough to protect you all."
