Douluo: The Traveler's Adventures In Douluo Dalu

Chapter 208: Chapter 208: One Strike To Kill A Title Douluo

The sweeter her past memories of Tang San and Xiao Wu's love, the more terrifying Zhu Zhuqing now found him.

And that terror wasn't born of Tang San's strength—but from the sheer darkness within his heart, a heart that would absorb the one he loved most and turn her into a soul ring.

Even knowing Xiao Wu was a soul beast, they had loved so deeply. Zhu Zhuqing had once confided in Ning Rongrong that their romance was the kind she longed for herself.

But now, in the blink of an eye, Tang San was still Tang San… yet Xiao Wu had become his soul ring?

He said Xiao Wu offered herself willingly, but Zhu Zhuqing didn't believe that for a second.

Especially when she saw Tang San's deranged demeanor—it was easy to suspect he wasn't telling the whole truth.

There was no way Xiao Wu had willingly sacrificed herself!

Knowing how dependent she was on him, if Tang San had asked for her sacrifice, she might've agreed without hesitation—even if he sold her off, she'd probably help him count the money.

"Didn't you swear to protect Xiao Wu for life, Tang San? This is your idea of protection?" Zhu Zhuqing asked coldly, eyeing the crimson soul ring pulsing around the Haotian Hammer in his left hand.

She noticed that Tang San's mental state always faltered whenever Xiao Wu was mentioned.

"Xiao Wu…"

He murmured the name and looked down at the red ring in his hand.

"She… she volunteered. I didn't force her…"

"You couldn't stop her?" Zhu Zhuqing pressed.

"Stop her…" Tang San muttered, then suddenly burst into manic laughter. "I tried! But her soul beast brothers didn't come for her!"

He rambled on, his words increasingly incoherent. "I promised her, if she could call the hundred-thousand-year soul beasts from Star Dou Forest, she'd be safe. But not a single one came…"

Zhu Zhuqing couldn't fully grasp everything he was saying, but she could piece together enough.

It seemed that after learning Xiao Wu was a soul beast, Tang San got wind that she could contact the powerful hundred-thousand-year soul beasts of the forest. He'd hoped to use her to lure them out.

And as for why he wanted them to come…

One glance at the soul rings adorning his Clear Sky Hammer was enough to answer that.

Those beasts… Could they have been the ones she and her companions encountered when they tried to absorb their own soul rings?

As the pieces clicked together in Zhu Zhuqing's mind, a chilling realization hit her. Perhaps their accidental intrusion into the Lake of Life had ruined Tang San's plans.

"Zhu Zhuqing, just surrender already. You can't defeat me," Tang San said, having recovered from his bout of madness. He now looked at her the way a predator eyes a lamb—calm and unbothered.

"Spare me the words. You disgust me," Zhu Zhuqing said icily—and vanished again.

Seeing her repeat the same evasive tactic as before, Tang San shouted furiously toward the black-robed man nearby:

"Third Worship! If Zhu Zhuqing won't come out, kill those people instead!"

The black-robed figure, who had been watching over Dugu Bo and the others, raised his hand to summon his soul power. But before he could act, a sudden sense of danger struck him.

Too late.

A sword gleamed into existence beside him, its blade glowing softly—before slicing cleanly through his neck like tofu.

Shhk!

A spray of blood, a thud—his head, eyes wide in disbelief, fell to the ground and rolled a few times before lying still.

His hands had only just begun to rise, as though trying to ward off the blow. But with his head gone, the movement halted midway. His body collapsed.

Tang San froze, stunned by the sudden turn. Then his gaze snapped to where Zhu Zhuqing was finally revealing herself, barely upright.

"ZHU ZHUQING! YOU DARE!"

"Heh…"

Zhu Zhuqing's sword dug into the ground to support her. That one strike had exhausted everything she had—strength, energy, soul power. She was forcing herself to remain standing.

To kill a Titled Douluo as a Soul King—no one had ever done it before. Not even in legend.

But Zhu Zhuqing had done the impossible.

Its sharpness corresponds to the strength of your resolve. If your conviction is firm enough, then no matter your soul power, this blade… can cut anything…

Aether's voice echoed in her mind as she gently caressed the simple-looking sword.

"Your Excellency… I did it. This divine weapon… I did not disgrace it."

And with those final words, she slowly closed her eyes and collapsed backward.

The most dangerous threat—the black-robed Titled Douluo—had been slain. Now only Tang San remained as a true danger.

Fire Meow Meow and Dugu Bo were gravely injured, but if Tang San was the only obstacle left, perhaps they still had a chance to escape…

"Sister Zhuqing!"

Yu Keke and the others were stunned by the impossible feat. But seeing Zhu Zhuqing suddenly fall, Yu Keke snapped out of it and rushed over, catching her before she hit the ground.

"Well, well, WELL!" Tang San roared. "You invade my sect, harm my father, and kill one of my Title Douluo—and think you'll leave?"

"Fourth Soul Skill: Blue Silver Prison!"

Vines of Blue Silver Grass erupted from the cliffside, rapidly spreading to entangle everyone in their grasp.

"Yanyan! Take Keke and the others and GO!" Dugu Bo shouted, abandoning his granddaughter and charging at Tang San with the last of his soul power.

BOOM!

He might be Injured, but a Titled Douluo was still a Titled Douluo. Tang San had to respond seriously. His soul skill was forcibly interrupted.

Seeing this, Dugu Yan knew there was no time to hesitate. She hoisted up the unconscious Fire Meow Meow and dashed to Yu Keke's side to help support Zhu Zhuqing.

"Keke! Grandpa's buying us time. We have to go!"

"I SAID—none of you are leaving!!" Tang San howled, eyes locked on their retreat. Seeing Dugu Bo gamble everything just to stall him, Tang San turned toward the mountain gate.

"If not now, then when?! COME OUT!!"

WOMMMM—

A wave of soul power surged from the gate behind him.

Dugu Bo, scrambling back to the others, looked up—and saw more than a dozen figures descending from the sky.

"T-Titled Douluo… they're all Titled Douluo…" he muttered bitterly.

The worst-case scenario had arrived. Fighting right at the gates of the Clear Sky Sect—how could the sect possibly not notice?

What he didn't expect was this: since when did the Clear Sky Sect have so many Titled Douluo?

If they had such strength, why had they ever feared Spirit Hall's retaliation enough to seal off their mountain?
