Chapter 38: INTERRUPTION
The next morning, Xuanyu stood in the Wish Granting Shop alongside Renxue, Bibi Dong, and Shisui. After finishing a hearty breakfast brought in by Bibi Dong, the group waited patiently for Almight.
The door creaked open, breaking the silence. Almight stepped inside, his presence commanding as usual, though his expression softened when he greeted the group.
"Good morning," Almight said, nodding at each of them.
Xuanyu cut straight to the point. "Our mission is clear: we are to save the Uchiha clan from their extermination. The reasons for their downfall are well-known—the accusations surrounding the Nine-Tails incident and the suppression and mistrust from Konoha's leadership. These tensions led to the Uchiha clan considering a coup, and we know the key figures involved: Uchiha Itachi, Danzo, Uchiha Madara, Root, and the Anbu Black Ops."
His sharp gaze landed on Shisui. "This mission concerns you most directly. Do you have a plan, or should we eliminate those responsible without delay?"
Shisui shook his head vehemently. "No, we can't simply kill them. Doing so would destabilize Konoha, leading to civil unrest. A weakened Konoha would be vulnerable to attacks from the other ninja nations. That's not something I'm willing to risk."
Bibi Dong leaned forward, her arms crossed. "Then who do you suggest we deal with first?"
"Danzo," Shisui replied immediately.
"Why not Sarutobi Hiruzen?" Bibi Dong pressed, her tone sharp.
Shisui frowned. "Because he's the Hokage."
Bibi Dong scoffed. "The same Hokage who allowed an entire clan to be wiped out overnight, from elderly to infants?"
Shisui fell silent, his jaw tightening.
Renxue broke the tension. "If Sarutobi remains Hokage, the Uchiha will always be oppressed. Shisui, have you considered becoming Hokage yourself?"
Shisui shook his head. "That's not an option. The other clans wouldn't accept an Uchiha as Hokage, not after everything that's happened."
Almight spoke up. "So, the solution is clear. Sarutobi must step down, and a new Hokage must be chosen. Shisui, who do you think could take the role?"
Before Shisui could answer, the Shop Tablet began vibrating, drawing everyone's attention.
Xuanyu glanced at the screen and read the message aloud:
[DING! IT IS DETECTED THAT THREE 'FATE CARDS' HAVE BEEN COLLECTED BY SOMEONE AND ARE TRYING TO ENTER THE WISH GRANTING SHOP]
[ALLOW ENTRY?
–> YES
–> NO]
"Well," Xuanyu said, leaning back in his chair. "It seems our mission will have to wait. We have new customers arriving. Altough he didnt expect that three Fate Cards would be used simultaneously and at this time. "
Renxue and Bibi Dong exchanged intrigued glances and sat down, while Almight nodded. Shisui, though clearly displeased by the interruption, also took his seat.
Xuanyu tapped "Yes" on the screen. The air shimmered, and the FATE Door materialized in the shop. The first figure to step through was a blonde-haired woman with striking features and an air of confidence. Her golden hair cascaded down her back, and her figure was as commanding as her aura.
Behind her, a crimson-haired teenager entered, wearing a school uniform that contrasted sharply with her vibrant hair and equally powerful presence. Her eyes scanned the room cautiously, taking in every detail.
Just as the door seemed to close, the Shop Tablet vibrated again, displaying a new notification:
[DING! CUSTOMER SIZE EXCEEDS ALLOWABLE LIMITS]
[DING! EMERGENCY PROTOCOL INITIATED: SIZE MANIPULATION]
The door opened wider than before, and a massive red dragon entered the shop. Its sheer size dwarfed everything else in the room. Scales glinted like rubies under the light, and its golden eyes gleamed with intelligence and wariness. The shop seemed to tremble under its weight, and the temperature of the room rose slightly, as if the dragon's presence alone radiated heat.
For a moment, the room was frozen. Renxue and Bibi Dong immediately stood, their hands glowing with power as they prepared for combat. Rias and the blonde woman stepped back, their stances shifting into battle-ready positions. Even Almight's usually calm demeanor gave way to a cautious stance.
The dragon let out a low growl, its massive wings unfurling slightly as if in warning. The tension was palpable.
But before anyone could act, the dragon's form began to shimmer, its size shrinking rapidly until it fit comfortably within the shop. The intimidating aura remained, but now the dragon appeared less overwhelming, though no less magnificent.
The dragon blinked, its gaze thoughtful. It seemed to relax as a wave of information flooded its mind, likely from the shop's systems.
Xuanyu finally broke the silence. "Greetings, new customers! I am Lan Xuanyu, owner of this Wish Granting Shop. To my left and right are Qian Renxue, Goddess of Angels, and Bibi Dong, Goddess of Rakshasa."
All eyes turned to Xuanyu, who sat comfortably in the center chair. His calm and composed demeanor seemed almost out of place in the tense atmosphere.
The dragon was the first to speak, its deep voice resonating in the room. "According to the information that appeared in my mind, you can fulfill any one wish of mine. Is that correct?"
Xuanyu nodded. "That's correct. I can grant one wish, provided it isn't too outrageous. Alternatively, you may choose to—"
"I wish to return to my human form," the dragon interrupted, its voice tinged with urgency.
Without hesitation, Xuanyu activated his skill: WISH. A radiant light enveloped the dragon, lifting it slightly off the ground. The intense glow filled the room, forcing everyone to shield their eyes.
When the light faded, a scarlet-haired woman with a regal bearing stood where the dragon had been. Her striking features and powerful aura left everyone momentarily speechless.
The woman ran her hands over her body as if confirming her transformation. She conjured a mirror, gazing at her reflection with eyes that glistened with unshed tears. After a moment, she straightened and turned to Xuanyu, bowing slightly.
"Thank you. My name is Irene Belserion. I apologize for my earlier behavior."
Xuanyu smiled warmly. "It's understandable. Being trapped in a draconic form for centuries is no small ordeal. Please, take a seat."
Irene looked surprised hearing this, she hesitated briefly before sitting down beside the blonde and crimson-haired newcomers.
Xuanyu turned his attention to the others. "Welcome, Miss Rias Gremory and Senju Tsunade. I trust the information provided to you has explained the nature of this shop."
Both women nodded cautiously.
Xuanyu continued, "You each have a choice: make a single wish, or take attempts at the Lottery. The Lottery guarantees a rare-ranked item at minimum, with a chance of obtaining items up to Emperor rank—or even Mythical rank, though the odds are slim. The choice is yours."
Rias Gremory spoke first. "I'll take the wish."
Senju Tsunade nodded. "I'll also choose a wish. But first…" Her sharp gaze landed on Shisui. "You're Uchiha Shisui, aren't you?"
Shisui nodded. "Greetings, Lady Tsunade. I didn't expect to meet someone from Konoha here. It seems the Sage of Six Paths has truly blessed our village."
Tsunade's eyes narrowed slightly as she sensed the faint hostility in his tone. "If you don't mind me asking, what did you wish for?"
Shisui turned to Xuanyu. "Can you replay the video of my wish?"
Xuanyu nodded and activated the playback.
