---
Xuanyu smirked as the notification faded. "This will elevate my ice manipulation to another level. Maybe, I can win the next match with just this."
---
Half an hour later, Xuanyu's eyes twitched. His ice was melting rapidly under opponents fire. Despite his enhanced experience, the raw power of his ice was insufficient. His Ice Make Magic, although versatile, was being pushed to its limits. "I can make the ice colder," he thought, "but it drains too much soul energy. It's not cost-effective."
His opponent for the semifinals, Alex, stood across the battlefield. Alex's martial spirit, Flame Spirit, was a formidable adversary.
[NAME: ALEX]
[AGE: 11]
[MARTIAL SPIRIT: FLAME SPIRIT]
[SOUL RANK: 19]
Alex's Flame Spirit granted him exceptional fire affinity, with flames so intense they could roast Xuanyu alive if given the chance.
---
The match began, and within minutes, Xuanyu's ice attacks were effortlessly melted by Alex's flames. Frustrated but not deterred, Xuanyu decisively switched tactics. Activating his Golden Dragon Claws, he summoned his Clear Sky Hammer and charged at Alex.
Seeing Xuanyu rushing toward him, Alex smirked and launched a relentless barrage of fireballs.
As the fiery projectiles closed in, Xuanyu released a cold ice mist. Though it couldn't extinguish the fireballs, it significantly reduced their temperature, allowing him to smash them apart with his hammer.
Realizing his long-range assault was ineffective, Alex shifted strategies. With a wave of his hand, he conjured a searing whip of fire. The whip lashed out with ferocity, forcing Xuanyu to dodge and parry with his hammer. The heat was unbearable, and blisters began forming on his hands.
Gritting his teeth, Xuanyu enveloped his hammer in ice, creating a protective layer. The combination worked; the ice insulated the hammer, preventing it from heating up. Deflecting the whip with newfound vigor, he closed the gap between them. As he reached within five meters of Alex, his opponent smirked.
A sudden chill ran down Xuanyu's spine. "Something's wrong," he thought, immediately retreating. But it was too late.
---
"FLAME PILLAR!" Alex shouted as his hundred-year yellow spirit ring glowed. A blazing pillar of fire erupted, engulfing a ten-meter radius.
The intense flames roared for what felt like an eternity before dissipating. Alex emerged, triumphant, scanning the battlefield. Seeing no sign of Xuanyu, he smirked. But he failed to realize that announcement of his victory never came.
Before Alex could react, a massive force struck his back. Xuanyu's hammer sent him flying like a ragdoll. He crashed to the ground, rolling to a stop.
Xuanyu stood nearby, panting heavily. His burnt clothes clung to his body, exposing charred skin. His golden dragon scales and ice manipulation had shielded him from severe injuries, but he was far from unscathed.
Alex groaned, struggling to his feet. Seeing Xuanyu's injuries, he grinned, thinking the fight was far from over. Charging forward, he unleashed another wave of fireballs.
----
Xuanyu raised his head, his eyes blazing. A low, guttural roar escaped his lips, sending chills down Alex's spine. Suddenly, a colossal Golden Dragon shadow appeared behind Xuanyu. The spectral dragon locked its gaze on Alex and let out a deafening roar filled with primal fury.
Fear gripped Alex's heart as his knees buckled. His vision blurred, and his consciousness slipped away.
When Alex collapsed, Xuanyu fell to his knees, exhausted.

[LAN XUANYU WINS THE SEMIFINALS & ADVANCES TO THE FINALS!]
[DING! YOU HAVE WON YOUR MATCH. YOU RECEIVE A RARE RANK GACHA TICKET.]
---
After the match, Xuanyu returned to his cabin in the virtual world. A healing spirit master inspected him, ensuring he had no critical injuries. Once cleared, he logged out to calm his worried mother and little sister, who had been terrified upon seeing him engulfed in the Flame Pillar.
After a hearty meal, Xuanyu began meditating. The finals were only two hours away, and he needed to recover. As he meditated, he reflected on the illusion of the Golden Dragon. "Conqueror's Haki mixed with my bloodlines created that illusion," he realized. "With my current spiritual level, I can only use it once."
----
A knock interrupted his thoughts. Xuanyu opened the door to see his father, Lan Xiao, standing with three others: Ye Lingtong, her mother, and another woman who bore a striking resemblance to her.
"Xuanyu!" Ye Lingtong cried, throwing herself into his arms. "You were amazing! I watched all your matches! Why didn't you use your Dragon Claw martial spirit when we fought?"
Xuanyu evaded her question with a smile. "Good to see you too, Lingling. Why don't you introduce me to your companions?"
Blushing, Ye Lingtong stepped back. "This is my mother, Tang Xiaomeng, and my aunt, Tang Xiaoli."
----
Tang Xiaomeng smiled warmly. "So, you're Xuanyu. Lingling talks about you all the time at home. You're quite the handsome young man."
"Mom!" Ye Lingtong protested, her face red with embarrassment.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Tang Xiaoli suddenly asked, "Xuanyu, could you show me your hammer martial spirit?"
Though surprised by the request, Xuanyu obliged. He summoned his Clear Sky Hammer, its formidable presence filling the room. Tang Xiaoli inspected it closely.
"It's genuine," she murmured. "The Clear Sky Hammer martial spirit... I didn't expect someone outside the Clear Sky Clan to awaken it."
To Xuanyu's astonishment, Tang Xiaoli released her own martial spirit—a Clear Sky Hammer surrounded by nine spirit rings: five black and four red.
"I am Tang Xiaoli, the Clear Sky Douluo and the current head of the Clear Sky Clan," she declared.
Xuanyu and Lan Xiao were stunned. The head of the legendary Clear Sky Clan, an ancient lineage that had produced a god, was standing before them.
Lan Xiao recovered first. "Your Excellency, may I ask why you've come?"
Tang Xiaoli smiled. "I was on a business trip when I heard of someone wielding the Clear Sky Hammer in the Spirit Pagoda tournament. Since my niece knew you, I decided to visit."
Lan Xiao hesitated. "Are you here to take Xuanyu to the clan?"
She shook her head. "No. He doesn't need to join us now. When he grows stronger, he may visit the clan and greet the ancestors. For now, I have another proposal."
Turning to Xuanyu, she asked, "Do you want to join the Tang Sect?"
