The sun was nearing its peak, and the mountaintop was in complete disarray. Lin Yongming leaned on his Thunder Blade, panting heavily.
"Sister A-Yin, please, have mercy! I can't fight anymore. This is just too unreasonable—your Blue Silver Grass seems endless!" Saying this, Lin Yongming plopped down onto the ground.
All morning, he had been cutting down vine after vine of Blue Silver Grass, only for them to grow back again. After three to four hours of constant slashing, his arms were sore beyond belief.
"Not bad. For someone at the same level, your soul power is quite deep, which means your foundation is solid," the Blue Silver Emperor commented, her cheeks slightly flushed. Lin Yongming was exhausted, but she wasn't faring much better.
"Here, drink some water."
Lin Yongming took the water flask and gulped down a mouthful before asking, "Sister A-Yin, isn't your martial soul the Blue Silver Grass? I heard people say that Blue Silver Grass is a useless martial soul. Why is yours so powerful?"
"Heh, it is Blue Silver Grass. But—" The Blue Silver Emperor smiled mysteriously.
"But what?" Lin Yongming was stunned. Is she about to reveal her true identity to me?
"My Blue Silver Grass is actually a mutated martial soul. Otherwise, do you think I could've reached the Soul Ancestor level so quickly?" The Blue Silver Emperor offered a convenient excuse.
"A mutated martial soul? That strong?" Lin Yongming exclaimed in admiration.
"Of course! It comes with an innate talent—I can control the Blue Silver Grass around me and use it as my own. Not only can I fight, but I can also rely on them to help me recover my soul power during battle," she said proudly.
"No wonder your attacks never seemed to stop. So basically, you were cheating." Lin Yongming pouted.
"Hmph! What do you mean cheating? It's a gift, okay? So, in the future, just go and explore the world without worries—your big sister's got your back!" The Blue Silver Emperor huffed.
"Such bold words! Anyone who hears you would think you're already at the Title Douluo level." Lin Yongming smirked. "Then tell me, if I go to Wuhun City to train, will you come with me?"
"Uh…" A subtle change flickered across the Blue Silver Emperor's face before she quickly replied, "I prefer quiet places. Big cities like Wuhun City are too noisy for my liking." She paused before continuing, "Besides, with your current level, not even a Soul Elder yet, going there wouldn't be training—it would be asking for a beating."
"So don't think about taking shortcuts. Real training means working your way up from smaller places first."
Lin Yongming nodded. "That's true. Wuhun City is the holy land for soul masters, filled with powerful experts. I guess it's not the right place for me just yet. Then where should I start my training?"
The Blue Silver Emperor lightly patted his head. "Why don't you focus on reaching level 30 first? Then we'll talk about leaving Lei Yu Village."
"Haha! You're right. I still have a long way to go." Lin Yongming chuckled awkwardly before standing up. "Alright, it's noon. Let's head down the mountain."
"Mm-hmm." The Blue Silver Emperor nodded.
A Rare Discovery
Back at home, Lin Yongming washed off his morning sweat and, after lunch, wandered around the village with the Blue Silver Emperor.
"That's a huge tree! Wait… is that… a millennia-old Thunderstruck Tree? How rare!"
Standing in the center of the village, the Blue Silver Emperor gazed at the towering tree in amazement.
"Sister A-Yin, do you recognize this tree?" Lin Yongming asked curiously.
"I know a little about it."
"This is called a Thunderstruck Tree. It's extremely tough and has a natural ability to absorb lightning. Because of that, most of them die young. But this one here has lived for over a thousand years—truly rare. If it ever reaches ten thousand years, it would become harder than refined black iron, perfect for forging weapons," the Blue Silver Emperor explained.
"Weapons made from it wouldn't be inferior to martial souls of standard quality."
"I see… I always thought the village chief was exaggerating when he said this tree was magical. He claimed that every time there's a thunderstorm, it protects the village from lightning strikes. Guess I was too ignorant." Lin Yongming admitted.
As the Blue Silver Emperor was a soul beast of the Blue Silver lineage, she had a natural affinity for plant life and could sense their unique properties.
"Don't be discouraged. Once you start exploring the world, you'll see and learn much more," she reassured him, patting his shoulder.
"Sister A-Yin, I have a question. Do you have knowledge of all kinds of plants and herbs?" Lin Yongming suddenly thought of something and asked.
"More or less. I once read a book called Treasures of Strange Flora, which recorded many mystical plants. But honestly, I haven't seen most of them with my own eyes. By the way, that Star-Eyed Grass I mentioned last time? It's actually one of the more common plants in that book," she said smugly.
"Where's that book now?" Lin Yongming asked, intrigued.
"Why? I probably threw it away ages ago. Besides, it's just a book of legends. And even if I gave it to you, could you even read it?" she teased.
Lin Yongming wasn't entirely convinced such a book existed. He was more inclined to believe that her knowledge came from her natural connection with plant life.
"If that's the case, maybe I don't need to seek out that Chrysanthemum Douluo from the Spirit Hall. Instead, I could take Sister A-Yin to Sunset Forest—her knowledge might surpass his!" Lin Yongming thought to himself.
"What are you spacing out for? I already told you, most of those plants are just legends. The only ones I've actually seen are low-tier ones like the Star-Eyed Grass," the Blue Silver Emperor nudged his arm.
"That may be true, but the Douluo Continent is vast—there's no telling what we might find," Lin Yongming said with a mysterious smile.
"You're acting weird," the Blue Silver Emperor muttered under her breath.
The Village Chief's Request
"Xiao Ming! Oh, and the Blue Silver child! So you're here!"
Just then, the voice of the village chief, Lei Siro, sounded from the side.
"Village Chief Grandpa, your snake venom hasn't relapsed, has it?" Lin Yongming stepped forward.
"Hello, Village Chief!" The Blue Silver Emperor greeted him.
"No, no, thanks to that soul master's healing, I was cured instantly," the village chief said with a warm smile.
"That's good to hear," Lin Yongming nodded.
"Blue Silver child, I was wondering if you'd be willing to help with something," the village chief asked hesitantly.
"Village Chief, just tell me. If I can help, I'll be happy to," the Blue Silver Emperor replied.
"It's like this… I have a relative who broke his leg a year ago. Though he's healed, he still limps when he walks. Do you think his injury can still be treated?"
"Of course, we wouldn't ask for your help without offering a reward," the village chief quickly added.
"Village Chief, you're too polite. If I can help, I will. But I'd have to examine his injury first," the Blue Silver Emperor said graciously.
"Alright, I'll take you to his house." The village chief led the way without hesitation.
Lin Yongming knew exactly who they were talking about. A year ago, a villager had fallen while venturing into the mountains and broke his leg. Though it had healed, he still walked with a noticeable limp.
"Sister A-Yin, let's go—it's not far," Lin Yongming said as he followed behind the village chief with the Blue Silver Emperor.
