Douluo: Soul-Breaking spear

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Yang Ping’an

Chapter 32: Yang Ping'an

The next morning during breakfast, Father brought home a young boy who looked sad, his face showing signs of grief—likely still mourning the recent loss of his mother.

"Son, this is Yang Ping'an. He's a few months younger than you and will be living with us from now on."

"Ping'an, this is my son, Yang Potian. You should consider this your home too, and feel free to ask if you need anything. From now on, you'll be studying and training alongside my son."

"Potian, Ping'an, you two are brothers now, so make sure to get along well."

And just like that, Yang Potian found himself with a new housemate, Yang Ping'an.

After breakfast, the two went to the training grounds.

Yang Potian was the first to speak, "Hello, let me introduce myself again. I'm Yang Potian, with the Po Soul Spear as my martial spirit, and my spirit power is at level 12."

The boy responded, "Hi, I'm Yang Ping'an. My martial spirit is also the Po Soul Spear, and I'm at level 8."

Yang Potian nodded. "We're both from the Po Clan, and now that we're family, feel free to ask me if you have any questions. Starting today, we'll train together."

"Every morning, I'll be here practicing spear techniques. Afterward, we'll head to class. In the afternoon, I'll spend some time studying herbal knowledge—you're not a full Spirit Master yet, so you won't need that part. You can go to your room to cultivate. After that, we'll go mountain climbing with weighted gear."

"Thank you for everything, young master."

"Ping'an, let's drop the formalities. Just call me 'big brother' or 'Yang-ge.' We're all part of the Po Clan, after all."

"All right, Yang-ge. I'll be in your care, then."

"Ping'an, there's no need to be so polite. We're family now. You can come to me with any problems, whether they're about training or life in general."

And so, Yang Ping'an became Yang Potian's little shadow.

Though he seemed sad at first, likely due to losing his family, Ping'an started opening up after a while. However, it meant Yang Potian was now faced with an endless stream of questions from a curious six-year-old. It drove him slightly mad, yet he couldn't brush off his little "brother."

In the mornings, as Yang Potian practiced thrust techniques, Yang Ping'an would follow along, learning the Po Soul Spear techniques.

"Yang-ge, why does your spear technique look different from our Po Soul Spear technique?"

"Ping'an, what I'm practicing isn't the Po Soul Spear technique—it's a method I came up with myself, still in the early stages."

"Yang-ge, is there something different about you?"

"Ping'an, it's because I wear weighted gear all the time. Aside from during herbal baths, I don't take it off."

"Yang-ge, can I train with weights too?"

"Ping'an, you're still a bit young. It's best to wait until you're officially a Spirit Master before starting with weights, or it might be too much for your body."

"Yang-ge, doesn't today's training seem harder than usual? Or is it just me?"

"Ping'an, today's training should be the same as usual. Are you feeling unwell? Maybe you should ask my father to check on you?"

And so, the two of them trained and studied together, supporting each other through both the enjoyable and the grueling parts of their routine. Occasionally, Yang Potian's father would give them pointers during their training.

Time flew by, and two years later, Yang Potian was eight and a half years old, now standing about 1.5 meters tall. Although his face still showed traces of childhood, his physique was solid and muscular, even more impressive than a bodybuilder's. His looks were average—ordinary and unremarkable in a crowd, though his sharp gaze and determined expression hinted at his unwavering spirit. The years of spear training had given him a powerful, relentless aura. And his short, dark hair gave him a dash of flair, even if he wasn't conventionally handsome.

In these two years, many things changed for the Po Clan. First, Yang Potian's grandfather, Yang Wudi, and his granduncle, Yang Wushuang, both broke through to the rank of Spirit Douluo within months of each other.

Yang Wudi's eighth spirit ring was a 60,000-year-old Brindle Tiger, a beast known for its fierce attack power. This spirit ring skill greatly boosted his strength, and he even obtained a rare 60,000-year right arm spirit bone. Such a treasure would be considered a legacy item by the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan or the Clear Sky Clan. Fortunately, only the leaders of the four single-attribute clans and Yang Wushuang knew of it, so the secret remained safe.

According to Yang Wudi, this spirit bone would be reserved for future Po Clan leaders. Whether he himself used it was uncertain—even Yang Potian wasn't sure.

Yang Wushuang's eighth spirit ring was a 55,000-year-old Mighty Gorilla, which greatly enhanced his power. While he didn't get a spirit bone, his strength boost was even greater than Yang Wudi's.

With two Spirit Douluos, the Po Clan had become a substantial force in the Heaven Dou Empire. Though they couldn't compare to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan or the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, they were nearly on par with the Elephant Armored Clan, especially in high-end strength. Yang Wudi and Yang Wushuang could likely face Huyan Zhen, the Elephant Armored Clan's leader, one-on-one.

The Po Clan members were known as fierce fighters who feared nothing, each focused solely on attack power. Among their peers, they were practically unbeatable. Even Spirit Douluo-ranked warriors were cautious when dealing with the Po Clan, making them an intimidating faction within the empire.

Meanwhile, Yang Potian's father, Yang Zhentian, had reached level 76 after two and a half years of cultivation, and his mother, Niu Jinfeng, had reached level 68, with plans to advance to Spirit Saint within two years.

Yang Ping'an, Yang Potian's younger "brother," was slightly eccentric but trained diligently. Whether building physical strength or refining spirit power, he kept up with Yang Potian, reaching level 16 after acquiring his first spirit ring. He was a promising talent.

Then there was Yang Tianyue, the youngest in the family. At two years old, she was already lively and adorable, though her personality was far from delicate. Even at her young age, she ran around chasing cats and teasing dogs, turning the Po Clan upside down. She resembled their mother and seemed destined to grow up into a spirited tomboy.

The Po Clan elders had also progressed, each advancing by two or three levels. Though they hadn't broken through yet, their overall strength had increased significantly. Within five years, several Spirit Douluos could emerge, though some might be stuck at the threshold of level 79, which would require a stroke of fortune to surpass.

Overall, the Po Clan was flourishing, thriving in strength and reputation.
