Douluo: Seven Asuras

Chapter 36: Chapter 36 – Fire Tyrant Dragon, Yu Tianlong

Chen Feng got straight to the point:

"I can help you be reborn—to once again unleash the unmatched power of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon."

Yu Tianlong narrowed his eyes, clutching his withered right arm.

Once a genius of his clan, now reduced to a cripple... it was something he still couldn't accept.

The words coming from this teen—younger than him—sounded ridiculous, almost laughable.

But somehow, deep down, a strange flicker of hope was stirred.

"What if... he really can help me?"

Chen Feng fixed his gaze on Yu Tianlong's eyes.

He could see it—that flash of longing.

A smile curved his lips.

"Tianlong, let's not beat around the bush. I'm forming a team of young soul masters. Our goal: championship at the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament.

I want you on my team. In return, I'll heal your old wounds and help you return to your peak."

Yu Tianlong scoffed, eyeing Chen Feng from head to toe.

"Champion? With just you?"

"You don't believe me?" Chen Feng's voice remained calm.

Then, he released his soul rings.

Yellow. Purple. Purple. Black.

Each soul ring's emergence caused the pressure in the room to surge.

When all four soul rings hovered neatly beneath his feet, Yu Tianlong's expression froze.

The first yellow ring still seemed within reason, but once the second purple appeared—followed by a black ten-thousand-year soul ring as the fourth—Yu Tianlong's jaw dropped.

A fourth soul ring of ten-thousand-year quality?

Unheard of!

His eyes nearly popped from their sockets. His mouth hung open, speechless, finger pointing at Chen Feng's rings in disbelief.

"And this?" Chen Feng added casually, tossing over a token.

Yu Tianlong caught it and flipped it around. On the back, in bold engraved script, were the words:

Elder Token of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.

BOOM—

It was as if a thunderclap exploded in Yu Tianlong's heart.

He was completely shaken.

A ten-thousand-year fourth soul ring.

An elder of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.

And this... from a teenage boy?

Yu Tianlong had once been hailed as the top genius among the younger generation of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, even outshining Yu Tianheng and Yu Tianxin.

Yet even he couldn't imagine reaching such heights at this age.

"How... did you achieve this?" he murmured, stunned.

Chen Feng calmly retracted his soul rings and token, smiling faintly.

"Now, do you think I'm qualified to aim for the championship?"

Yu Tianlong could only nod blankly, utterly dumbfounded.

But soon, a light ignited in his eyes. His large hand gripped Chen Feng's shoulder firmly.

"Can you heal me? If you can... I'll go with you."

"Of course. Your injuries aren't a big deal to me."

Chen Feng's tone was confident. But then he added:

"However, I don't want us to just be partners in a transaction.

I want companions—teammates who grow stronger together."

Those words stirred something deep in Yu Tianlong.

To a soul master, what was life if not a constant pursuit of strength?

Chen Feng's sentiment hit him right in the chest.

He took a deep breath, stepped back, and solemnly bowed.

When he raised his head again, his eyes were filled with resolve.

"Chen Feng, I'm willing to join your team—not just as a fighter, but as your companion.

Please allow me to be one of you."

Chen Feng chuckled.

"Tianlong, there's no rush. Come with me first—we'll spend time together.

We'll observe each other and see if we're truly suited to fight side by side."

Yu Tianlong nodded, his tone firm:

"That's fair. Though I've always considered myself gifted, I know full well that right now... I'm just a cripple.

But I'll prove to you—with actions, not words—that you didn't choose the wrong person."

Just as the two had reached their agreement, the restroom door suddenly flew open with a bang.

The owner of the soul arena walked in—a wiry old man with a hooked nose and a sinister expression.

Hands in his pockets, face dark and cloudy, he strode forward.

"Tianlong... you're leaving?"

Of course, as the owner of an underground arena—a place rooted in the shadows—he wasn't the benevolent type.

He'd been eavesdropping.

Two burly enforcers followed close behind, and dozens of lackeys blocked the hallway outside. The atmosphere turned grim.

Chen Feng's face darkened slightly.

Was this man trying to make a move?

He stepped forward to confront him, but Yu Tianlong's strong arm stopped him.

"Let me handle this."

Chen Feng gave a slight nod.

Yu Tianlong stepped up, staring the old man down.

"Boss... I'm leaving today. I have a future waiting.

You plan to stop me?"

The owner sneered.

"Tianlong, don't forget who took you in when your clan threw you out.

Who paid for your treatment?

Now you want to just walk away? You think it's that easy?"

Yu Tianlong replied coldly:

"Haven't I worked for free this whole time to repay you?"

"Not enough." The man shook his head.

Yu Tianlong frowned.

"Over this past year, you've used my Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon name to line your pockets. You've made at least tens of thousands of gold soul coins. How much more do you want?"

The man pulled out a contract and waved it.

"Don't forget—we signed an agreement.

Ninety-nine years. Look—your fingerprint is right here."

Yu Tianlong was baffled.

"What agreement? I never signed anything like that."

"Oh? Maybe you forgot.

Remember that time we drank together?

You were a little... too drunk."

Yu Tianlong's face went cold.

"You tricked me while I was drunk?"

The old man shrugged.

"Hey, I didn't want it to come to this.

But since you're forcing my hand..."

Yu Tianlong turned, glancing between Chen Feng and the crooked arena owner.

"Come on, Tianlong," the man coaxed.

"Stay. Eat well, drink well. What's so bad about that?

Don't make me use force."

He grinned, folds of his wrinkled face creasing.

BANG!

Suddenly, Yu Tianlong moved.

A cannon-like punch landed squarely on the man's face, sending him flying four or five meters.

"You piece of trash!

Trying to play me with tricks? Contracts? Thugs?

You think I'm someone to mess with?!"

"You don't know what a Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon inner disciple means!

You think someone like me would ever starve?"

"You're just the pathetic owner of some underground cage-fighting ring.

Who gave you the right to threaten me?!"

BANG!

Another kick.

The metal door of the lounge—frame and all—was kicked clean off the wall. Yu Tianlong grabbed it with both hands and smashed it down the hallway.

Dozens of thugs were instantly flattened like dominoes.
