Douluo: My power increases in Two levels

Chapter 25: Chapter 25 - Shrek Academy

"Han Feng, Han Feng! I want candied hawthorn! "

"You're not a kid anymore! Eat too much sugar, and you'll lose your teeth. Just have two buns and be done with it! "

The next morning, Ning Rongrong demanded Han Feng buy her candied hawthorn—and not just any kind. It had to be from the west side of the city, freshly made, with spun sugar, round hawthorns, and a glossy coating.

They were currently at the east gate.

As if expecting Han Feng's refusal, Ning Rongrong gave him a sly smile and held up four fingers, grinning sweetly.

"Tch. Fine, wait here."

"Yay! And don't be late! If the sugar melts, you're buying another! "

Han Feng grumbled but dashed off using spirit power—not because he enjoyed spoiling Ning Rongrong, but because during last night's challenge, he had failed to recall everything she'd said, missing ten points total. That meant he owed her ten favors.

Since then, Ning Rongrong had been relentlessly toying with him.

She demanded brand-new, made-up stories. She wanted gourmet snacks in the middle of the night. She made him list ten of her strengths in ten seconds—no repeats, no hesitation.

In short, Han Feng was going crazy.

The four fingers just now meant, Four more requests to go.

Five minutes later, Han Feng returned breathless, holding a fresh candied hawthorn stick.

Ning Rongrong's eyes lit up. She took it gleefully and started eating, her cheerful expression drawing stares from nearby pedestrians.

Han Feng didn't understand why people were staring. Instead, he asked flatly, "You've got three requests left. Just say them all now."

"Nope! I'm saving them for later! "

"You can't! I—"

"You're going to say, 'I'm going to Shrek Academy,' right? "

"You—"

"'How did you know? 'Come on, it's obvious. You're twelve, a Grandmaster-level spirit master, and you show up in Soto City right before admissions. It's got to be Shrek Academy. Don't worry, I'm going too! We'll be classmates. That means I've got plenty of time to use the rest of my requests."

Han Feng was about to speak twice, and both times she cut him off. He sighed heavily and muttered,

"Actually, I was going to say, 'I'm worried you'll get worse,' and 'Can you let me finish a sentence?'" '"

Ning Rongrong's smug smile froze. A deep blush crept up her neck and flooded her face.

"Han Feng! " she shrieked, eyes flashing.

"Hmm? " Han Feng rubbed his ears as if annoyed by the noise.

Ning Rongrong took a deep breath to steady herself, then announced loudly, "I've decided! My seventh request is that from now on, whatever I say goes. You have to agree with everything I say! "

"No." Han Feng rejected it instantly.

"Why not!? "

"A man can be killed, but not humiliated."

"Can't you go one day without making me angry!? "

"We've only known each other for two days. Don't make it sound like we go way back. I'm not trying to make you mad—I'm just stating facts. If you're mad, I conclude it's because you're petty."

Han Feng smirked, completely unapologetic.

"Has anyone told you you're incredibly annoying to talk to? "

"Nope! "Han Feng replied proudly. "In fact, Sister Qian Qian used to say I was cute when I wasn't talking. Totally different."

"Well, now someone has! " Ning Rongrong huffed and stormed off toward the east gate.

Han Feng just shrugged and followed—not because he wanted to, but because Shrek Academy was in that direction.

To be fair, the academy was extremely remote. They had left Soto City in the morning, and it wasn't until noon that they finally arrived at the village where Shrek Academy was located.

Both of them stared in silence at the shabby entrance, which didn't even have a proper sign.

For a moment, neither could speak.

They had heard plenty about Shrek Academy, but this—this looked like a shrine from some random village.

Especially Ning Rongrong. She had never imagined a place her father praised so highly would look worse than the outhouse in their back garden.

"This is... Shrek Academy? " she asked, uncertain if she was talking to herself or to Han Feng.

Han Feng, though also surprised, had expected it to be in poor condition. "Don't judge by appearances."

Ning Rongrong snorted. She'd heard similar things from her father, so she wasn't buying it. "Relax. I'm not going home. If my dad says this place is special, then it is. Even if you back out, I won't."

With that, she marched confidently toward the academy.

Han Feng, of course, had no plans to back out. After twelve years in this world, Shrek Academy had always been his first goal.

Besides, in just a few months, the academy would undergo a massive transformation.

Lining up for admissions, Han Feng scanned the surroundings.

He spotted the admissions teacher—though he had no idea what the man's name was anymore.

Then he saw Dai Mubai, hidden in a tree, watching for troublemakers. With his golden hair, black-accented white robe, and closed eyes concealing his heterochromia, Dai Mubai still radiated domineering pride.

He also noticed Zhu Zhuqing standing behind them.

She stood out—almost too much.

Then he spotted Tang San in front of them. Just as he was about to look for Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong stepped in front of him, blocking his view with an annoyed glare.

"What are you doing? " Han Feng asked. He was just curious to see how Xiao Wu had changed.

"Nothing! " she huffed, turning away dramatically.

"Then move."

"No!"

"Tch… such a pain."
