Inside the carriage.

As soon as this thought crossed his mind, Dai Chengfeng abruptly straightened himself, but he was still utterly baffled.

After all, Bibi Dong was the Pope of the Spirit Hall and his teacher—her strength was unfathomable. If she truly had any intentions toward him, there would be no need for such elaborate schemes.

And what reason could she possibly have to do so?

Just to share a room with him?

But didn't she love Yu Xiaogang?

What could be so important that she would go against her feelings for Yu Xiaogang?

"Unless it's…"

Dai Chengfeng suddenly recalled the last time he encountered the Rakshasa God. "Achieving godhood and destroying the Spirit Hall—these are the things most important to her, even more than Yu Xiaogang."

"Could it be?!"

After a long while…

Dai Chengfeng seemed to have gained some clarity. He looked down at the Asura power in his palm, his eyes no longer clouded with confusion.

"It seems… things are getting interesting!"

Dai Chengfeng chuckled softly, shaking his head. He glanced at the now pitch-black sky, estimating that more than an hour had passed.

"Bibi Dong should have finished bathing by now…"

Jumping down from the carriage, Dai Chengfeng took a deep breath, striving to appear calm and composed.

After ensuring he had no visible flaws in his demeanor, he returned to the door of the second-floor room and knocked gently. "Teacher, are you done bathing?"

"Come in."

Bibi Dong's voice came from inside the room, more languid than usual, laced with a moist quality like lingering steam.

Hearing this, Dai Chengfeng pushed open the door.

A warm mist, mingling the scents of roses and sandalwood, wafted toward him.

But his gaze was immediately drawn to the figure leaning against the bed, unable to look away—

At this moment, Bibi Dong was reclining against the headboard, clad only in a thin purple nightgown.

The collar was slightly open, revealing her delicate collarbone and a stretch of snow-white skin.

Her damp purple hair cascaded over her shoulders, droplets of water sliding down the strands and disappearing beneath her neckline.

Her cheeks were flushed from the heat of the bath, and her violet eyes shimmered under the lamplight, their gaze flowing like ripples on water.

Most striking of all, her long legs were crossed, the hem of her nightgown barely reaching mid-thigh, exposing large expanses of smooth, jade-like skin.

Her bare toes lightly tapped the floor, her nails painted the same purple as during the day, glinting with an eerie, seductive glow under the candlelight.

"Have you seen enough?"

Bibi Dong's lips curled slightly, her voice tinged with obvious displeasure.

Only then did Dai Chengfeng realize he had been standing there dumbfounded for quite some time. He quickly averted his gaze.

However, this time, having already guessed Bibi Dong's possible intentions, he wasn't as flustered as before—but nervousness was still inevitable.

After all, everything was still just speculation.

"Come here."

At this moment, Bibi Dong gently patted the spot beside her on the bed, her tone leaving no room for refusal.

Dai Chengfeng nodded. Though he had mentally prepared himself, when he approached the bed and was enveloped by the warm, fragrant air left from her bath, his heart still raced.

"Sit."

Bibi Dong pointed to the spot next to her.

Dai Chengfeng obediently sat down, deliberately keeping some distance. But the mattress sank under his weight, causing him to involuntarily slide closer to Bibi Dong.

His arm accidentally brushed against her nightgown, the silk-like texture sending a jolt through him like an electric shock.

"You're nervous?"

Bibi Dong tilted her head to look at him, a strand of damp hair slipping from her shoulder and resting on her chest.

"No… not at all."

Dai Chengfeng's dry response betrayed his unease, his gaze involuntarily following that strand of hair as it swayed gently, finally coming to rest over the rise of her chest.

*Knock, knock, knock—*

At this moment, another knock sounded at the door.

"Guest! Your food is here!"

"Teacher, I'll go open the door."

"Mm." Bibi Dong lazily nodded.

As Dai Chengfeng opened the door, the innkeeper stood outside holding a tray, his face plastered with an obsequious smile.

"Esteemed guest, here's your meal—it's all ready."

As he spoke, the innkeeper held up a bottle of wine, continuing to push his sales pitch. "And this is our specially brewed Soul Cherry Wine. Though it's a bit pricey, it's made from the unique Soul Cherry fruits of the Lost Valley. It's excellent for relieving fatigue and… well, perfect for a nightcap."

With that, he winked suggestively at Dai Chengfeng.

However, Dai Chengfeng simply shook his head.

"No need for the wine—we still have a journey ahead tomorrow…"

After all, he still wanted to test Bibi Dong further. Drinking might impair his judgment, and his tolerance for alcohol wasn't great.

"Bring it in."

However, Bibi Dong's voice suddenly rang out from the room, languid and relaxed.

The innkeeper's face lit up with joy, and he hastily placed the wine bottle on the tray.

"Guest, I'll leave the wine here—you can settle the bill tomorrow. I won't disturb you further."

Soon, the door closed.

Dai Chengfeng turned back with resignation and placed the tray on the round table in the center of the room.

By now, Bibi Dong had risen and walked over, her purple nightgown swaying gently with her steps.

She sat down in a chair by the table, naturally lighting the incense nearby, and picked up the wine bottle to examine it.

"It smells nice."

Dai Chengfeng watched Bibi Dong's movements, his pupils narrowing slightly as he gazed at the rising tendrils of white smoke from the incense.

Outwardly, however, he remained composed, carefully arranging the dishes on the table.

At the same time, he asked, "Teacher, I remember you didn't drink much in the past?"

"People change…"

Bibi Dong gently swirled the wine bottle, pouring herself a glass. Her eyes grew distant as she murmured, "And sometimes, when it's hard to make a decision, it finds its purpose…"

"Is that so?"

Dai Chengfeng looked at the distracted Bibi Dong, thoughtful, but said nothing further.

Picking up his chopsticks, he prepared to eat.

However, Bibi Dong pushed the other wine glass toward him. "Drink with me."

Dai Chengfeng hesitated. "Teacher, perhaps we should skip it—I'm not very good with alcohol…"

"What's there to fear?"

Bibi Dong chuckled softly. "If you get drunk, so be it. Do you think I'd harm you?"

Who knows…

Dai Chengfeng inwardly grumbled, but seeing Bibi Dong's insistence, he reluctantly accepted the glass.

The wine slid down his throat, sweet with a fruity aroma, but its aftertaste was unexpectedly sharp, causing him to cough twice.

"Drink slowly."

Bibi Dong spoke as she refilled both their glasses. "This wine really is quite good."

The two continued eating and drinking, and before they realized it, the bottle was nearly empty.

By now, Bibi Dong's gaze had grown hazy. She rested her cheek on one hand, absentmindedly playing with the empty glass in the other.

Dai Chengfeng was also slightly tipsy, his consciousness beginning to blur.

"Chengfeng…"

At this moment, Bibi Dong suddenly called out softly, her voice far gentler than usual.

Dai Chengfeng looked up, meeting her slightly watery eyes. In that instant, his heart skipped a beat, and he nearly dropped his chopsticks.

"It's late. We should rest… but…"

"There's only one bed."
