Chapter 116: Chapter 116 – Damask Tulip and the Ten-Thousand-Year Nine-Grade Ginseng King, Bold Ning Rongrong
After Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing pulled Xiao Wu into the bath with them and washed up together, Ye Yu also took a quick shower.
Once done, Ye Yu asked Xiao Wu to sit and relax on the sofa by herself, while he had Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing sit cross-legged together on the spacious bed—big enough to accommodate six or seven people.
"I'm going to teach you both a Spirit Power cultivation method today that surpasses standard meditation. It's called the Mysterious Heaven Skill," Ye Yu said slowly. "It has ten stages, each corresponding to one of the ten Spirit Master ranks."
"The Spirit Power it refines is endless and vast, with a steady, regenerative nature. Its cultivation speed is far faster than meditation—and it also comes with its own set of self-created Spirit Abilities."
As Ye Yu gave them a general overview of the Mysterious Heaven Skill, both girls couldn't help but widen their beautiful eyes in awe, their hearts full of gratitude and amazement.
"Ye Yu-ge, this is… so precious," said Zhu Zhuqing quietly, her soft and pure features tinged red. She bit her lip slightly, her voice calm but filled with emotion.
"It's fine," Ye Yu replied with a gentle smile. "You're my women. If I don't treat you well, who else would I treat well?"
"But," he continued, "this technique has to be cultivated from scratch. Normally, you wouldn't be able to practice it. Luckily, I have something special—an External Spirit Bone."
As he spoke, Ye Yu manifested two strands of External Spirit Bone: Demon Willow Fluff, then explained their function.
The fact that Ye Yu possessed one of the rarest treasures in the Spirit Master world—an External Spirit Bone—was shocking enough. But for it to have such miraculous abilities as well left Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing speechless.
"I'll help you merge with them."
Under Ye Yu's guidance, the two girls extended their fair arms. Ye Yu placed the Demon Willow Fluff onto their skin and activated the Spirit Bone Skill: Demon Fluff Parasitism.
In moments, the fluff burrowed into their bodies. Countless silken threads spread along their meridians, rooting and expanding rapidly. Very soon, a secondary meridian system formed inside each of them—completely independent of their original Spirit Power pathways.
But when Ye Yu tried to begin teaching the Mysterious Heaven Skill, he discovered something troubling.
Spirit Masters on Douluo Continent were far too reliant on Martial Souls and Spirit Rings. Almost no one practiced self-created abilities—or martial techniques, as Ye Yu understood them.
As a result, Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing had an almost nonexistent understanding of meridians and acupoints.
That wouldn't do.
If he didn't teach them the basics, even if he guided them hand-in-hand through the Mysterious Heaven Skill, they wouldn't know where to begin.
After a crash course on meridian and acupoint theory, Ye Yu realized visual aids would help. He made a mental note to buy a large sheet of beast-hide paper tomorrow so he could draw a proper meridian diagram—for both teaching Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong now, and for later instruction with Dugu Yan and Ye Lingling.
After letting the girls absorb what they'd learned, Ye Yu smiled and said, "I've also prepared another gift for each of you."
He reached into his storage-type Soul Tool, the Wishful Hundred Treasure Purse, and retrieved two jade boxes, handing one to each of them.
"Go ahead. Open them."
Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing opened the boxes with curious eyes.
Inside Ning Rongrong's box was a strange, elegant plant. Its slender green stalks shimmered like jade, cascading like a vine curtain. At the very top bloomed a dazzling golden tulip that gave off an intense fragrance—it was none other than the immortal herb, Damask Tulip.
Zhu Zhuqing's box contained a human-shaped ginseng, glowing emerald green and exuding powerful life essence.
It was the top-tier spiritual herb: the Ten-Thousand-Year Nine-Grade Ginseng King.
In the original story, Zhu Zhuqing had received the Water-Jade Bone Lotus, but since Ye Yu had already consumed that, he instead gave her this supreme-quality herb, which was gentle yet potent—capable of strengthening her foundation and refining her body.
Though it likely wouldn't cause a Martial Soul evolution, Ye Yu felt that in the future, the Dark Devilgod Tiger's inner core might hold that potential. If given the chance, he would personally help Zhu Zhuqing hunt one down—have her absorb its Spirit Ring, then consume its core to try and evolve her Hell Spirit Cat Martial Soul.
"It's so pretty—and smells amazing! Ye Yu, what kind of tulip is this?" Ning Rongrong asked, eyes sparkling with joy.
"This is one of the rarest immortal herbs in the world—Damask Tulip," Ye Yu said calmly with a smile. "It can greatly enhance your cultivation—and even evolve your Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda into the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda."
"Zhuqing's herb isn't quite as miraculous," he added with a shrug, "but it's still a top-tier spirit medicine—the Ten-Thousand-Year Nine-Grade Ginseng King. It'll boost her strength significantly, though it probably won't evolve her Martial Soul."
"Ye Yu! This tulip… can really evolve my Martial Soul?!" Ning Rongrong cried out, overwhelmed with emotion. She threw herself into Ye Yu's arms.
"Of course. You'll see once you take it," Ye Yu replied, confident and calm.
"If that's true… then Ye Yu, you'll be a great benefactor to me—and to the entire Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan!" Ning Rongrong declared. "From now on, whatever you want me to do… I'll do it."
"Anything. Really!" she added, her voice shy but her gaze fiery and direct.
At that moment, she was utterly enamored with Ye Yu.
"Anything?" Ye Yu laughed.
"Actually, I'll be needing your clan's self-created Spirit Ability—Distraction Control—for my next stage of cultivation. Can you teach me?"
"Of course I can!" Ning Rongrong replied without hesitation, her eyes full of love. "And we have so many tomes and scrolls in the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan's library. I'll take you to read whatever you want!"
"From now on, Ye Yu—you can think of our clan as your home too. My dad is your dad. My Grandpa Sword and Grandpa Bone—they're your grandpas too!"
Caught up in her emotions, Ning Rongrong offered everything she had to Ye Yu without a second thought.
Meanwhile, off somewhere, Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Bone Douluo: "…"
