Douluo Dao : Soul Archer: The Bow of Destiny

Chapter 107: Poison core

Feng Xuan moved through the Yin-Yang Well, his steps light but deliberate. His golden eyes carefully scanned the vibrant landscape of medicinal plants, each one radiating spiritual energy. This place, filled with the balance of extreme Yin and extreme Yang, nurtured some of the rarest herbs in the world.

But today, he wasn't here for himself.

Today, his goal was to help Dugu Bo.

Dugu Bo stood behind him, his arms crossed, watching with a skeptical gaze.

"You really think you can refine something that will solve my problem?" he asked, his tone carrying a mix of doubt and curiosity.

Feng Xuan smirked, kneeling beside a lush green plant with violet veins. "Not solve—enhance."

Dugu Bo raised an eyebrow. "Enhance?"

Feng Xuan plucked the plant carefully, his hands moving with the precision of an experienced alchemist.

"Your Jade Phosphor Serpent poison is the foundation of your strength," Feng Xuan explained as he collected a few more herbs, each one radiating a different energy. "Removing it would weaken you, not strengthen you."

Dugu Bo's eyes narrowed. "So what's your plan?"

Feng Xuan stood up, holding a combination of Yin-type and Yang-type herbs in his hands.

"I'll refine a pill using Vedic Alchemy. It won't remove your poison—it will guide it, refine it into a Poison Core within your body."

Dugu Bo's eyes widened slightly at the term. "Poison Core?"

Feng Xuan nodded. "It's similar to the Soul Cores of Titled Douluos, but adapted for a poison-based cultivation path. Instead of letting your poison rampage inside your body, this core will gather, condense, and stabilize your toxicity, making your power more refined and controllable. It will also accelerate your cultivation and allow you to use your poison more efficiently."

Dugu Bo's expression was unreadable for a moment.

Then—he let out a low chuckle.

"Interesting… So instead of fighting against my poison, I'll be embracing it fully?"

Feng Xuan smiled. "Exactly."

For the first time in years, Dugu Bo felt excitement at the idea of improving his cultivation.

He stepped forward. "Alright, kid. Show me what you can do."

Feng Xuan sat cross-legged, placing the selected herbs in front of him.

He took a deep breath.

Then, he stretched out his hands.

Golden spiritual energy gathered at his fingertips, forming a glowing seal in the air. This was Vedic Alchemy, an ancient refinement technique that did not rely on fire, but instead on spiritual inscriptions and elemental manipulation to draw out the true essence of the ingredients.

Unlike traditional pill refinement methods, Vedic Alchemy used spiritual resonance to harmonize the properties of different herbs before merging them into a single medicinal pill.

Feng Xuan's Sun God Armor faintly shimmered as his elemental mastery kicked in.

He first processed the Yin-Yang Serpent Grass, breaking it down into its purest essence. This herb would act as the stabilizer, allowing the poison within Dugu Bo to be refined without harming his meridians.

Next, he refined the Nine-Leaf Fire Lotus, an herb that would provide the necessary warmth to guide the poisonous energy into a core rather than letting it disperse uncontrollably.

Lastly, he used a Golden Spirit Vine, which had regenerative properties, ensuring Dugu Bo's body wouldn't suffer from the stress of the transformation.

The air around him hummed as golden runes danced around the floating herbs.

Dugu Bo watched in fascination.

"This technique… it's completely different from normal alchemy, And to think this child is rare twin soul." he murmured.

Feng Xuan smirked but didn't respond. His focus was absolute.

He compressed the herbal essences into a glowing emerald-green pill, surrounded by faint golden patterns from the spiritual inscriptions.

The moment the pill was fully formed, it released a gentle but powerful wave of spiritual energy, causing the surrounding air to tremble slightly.

Dugu Bo felt his heart pound.

He could tell—this was no ordinary pill.

Feng Xuan exhaled slowly, catching the pill between his fingers.

"It's ready."

Dugu Bo sat down in a meditative position, ready to consume the pill.

"Once you take this," Feng Xuan warned, "your poison will begin to condense into a core. The process will be painful, but it will be worth it."

Dugu Bo scoffed. "Hmph, pain has never been an issue for me."

Without hesitation, he swallowed the pill.

The moment it entered his system—

BOOM!

A violent shockwave erupted from his body, sending waves of poison energy into the air.

His emerald-green spirit energy surged uncontrollably.

Dugu Bo gritted his teeth, sweat forming on his forehead. "This… is stronger than I expected!"

Inside his body, his Jade Phosphor Serpent Poison was being forcefully guided into a central point within his dantian. The poison that had once spread chaotically through his meridians was now condensing, gathering like a swirling storm.

Feng Xuan remained calm, observing the transformation.

"This is the first step," he said. "Let the energy flow naturally. Don't resist."

Dugu Bo closed his eyes, following Feng Xuan's instructions.

He could feel it—the poison that had once threatened to consume his life was now forming into a solid, stable core at the center of his being.

The sensation was overwhelming, almost as if his body were being reborn.

After what felt like an eternity—

A deep green glow emanated from his chest.

Then—silence.

Dugu Bo's breathing steadied, and when he opened his eyes, they shone with a brilliant emerald light.

A Poison Core had formed within him.

His cultivation had broken through—he had stepped into a whole new realm of power.

Dugu Bo clenched his fists, feeling the purified, controlled poison energy coursing through his body.

He let out a low laugh. "Hah… I feel incredible."

Feng Xuan smirked. "Congratulations, Elder Dugu. You've taken your first step toward a new cultivation path."

Dugu Bo stared at him, his expression unreadable.

Then—

He let out a booming laugh.

"Kid, you're a damn monster!"

Feng Xuan chuckled. "I try."

Dugu Bo stood up, his posture straighter than before. "With this Poison Core… I won't have to worry about my poison killing me anymore. And my attacks will be far more lethal."

He flexed his fingers, summoning a wisp of refined green poison that radiated pure power.

"Feng Xuan," he said, his voice serious. "You've given me something I never thought I'd have—control over my own strength."

He took a deep breath before nodding. "I owe you one."

Feng Xuan smiled. "I'll remember that."

Dugu Bo chuckled. "Hah, you little devil. You really are something else."

Feng Xuan turned, looking toward the Yin-Yang Well, deep in thought.

This was just the beginning.

He had helped Dugu Bo refine his poison into a core.

But soon—

He would have to face his own challenges.

And for that—

He needed to grow even stronger.
