Chapter 105: Feng Xuan Joins Thunder Abyss Academy
The city air carried the faint scent of rain as Feng Xuan stood before the gates of Thunder Abyss Academy, gazing at its towering walls and storm-patterned banners.
This is it.
The place where he would sharpen his strength, gather allies, and prepare for the tournament.
Unlike Spirit Hall Academy, which stood as a symbol of dominance and prestige, Thunder Abyss Academy was humbler in its grandeur.
It wasn't a place filled with elites from noble families, nor did it have the overwhelming reputation of the continent's strongest institutions.
But it was still strong. Stronger than Shrek Academy, at least in terms of resources and infrastructure.
Feng Xuan's golden eyes swept over the entrance.
The gates were wide and reinforced, crafted from smooth stone with steel reinforcements, decorated with an insignia of a roaring storm. Beyond them, students moved about, sparring, practicing their abilities, and chatting.
The academy had a certain orderliness to it.
Not a top-tier place like Spirit Hall Academy—but definitely a place where real warriors were trained.
Feng Xuan took his first step forward. His black cloak fluttered slightly with the wind as he walked, his aura calm yet sharp.
"This is where I begin."
The moment Feng Xuan crossed the entrance, he could feel the eyes on him.
Some students only spared him a passing glance before returning to their training. Others watched with curiosity, their expressions unreadable.
A few, however, had a different reaction.
"Newcomer?"
A voice came from the side.
Feng Xuan turned, his gaze landing on a tall young man, dressed in the academy's uniform. His posture was relaxed, arms crossed, but his sharp brown eyes carried a hint of arrogance.
"Who are you?" the young man asked, his voice edged with a challenging tone.
Feng Xuan didn't answer immediately.
He simply locked eyes with the young man—steady, unshaken.
For a long moment, neither spoke.
Then, Feng Xuan finally answered.
"Feng Xuan. I've come to enroll."
The young man's eyes narrowed slightly. "Never heard of you."
Feng Xuan smirked. "You will."
A short silence followed.
Then, a low chuckle came from another direction.
"Hah! Looks like we got a confident one."
Feng Xuan turned to see a muscular student approaching, his knuckles scarred from years of training. He had the build of a close-combat fighter, someone used to exchanging blows rather than launching long-range attacks.
"You sure you're not lost, kid?" the muscular student said, cracking his knuckles. "This isn't some no-name academy where anyone can just walk in."
Feng Xuan remained calm.
"Do I look lost?"
His tone was relaxed, but his presence was sharp—like an arrow ready to be fired.
The muscular student's smirk wavered. He could feel something dangerous about Feng Xuan.
Tension crept into the air.
Feng Xuan didn't move. He didn't need to.
But before anything could escalate, an elderly voice cut through the atmosphere.
"Enough of that."
The students immediately turned toward the new arrival.
An older man, dressed in scholar's robes, walked toward them. His silver hair was neatly tied back, and his sharp eyes held the wisdom of years of experience.
His presence was calm, but the way the other students quickly stepped aside made it clear—this was someone they respected.
He stopped a few feet away from Feng Xuan and studied him for a moment.
"Who are you," the elder asked, "and what business do you have at Thunder Abyss Academy?"
Feng Xuan straightened slightly and gave a respectful nod.
"I am here to enroll."
The elder's gaze didn't waver. He was measuring Feng Xuan, weighing his presence.
Then, finally, he nodded.
"Very well." He turned. "Follow me."
Feng Xuan didn't hesitate.
He stepped forward, following the elder without sparing a glance at the others.
Behind him, the murmuring students watched in silence.
Some were annoyed at how easily he had brushed them off.
But others?
They were intrigued.
Because something about Feng Xuan told them—
He wasn't just normal spirit master.
The elder led Feng Xuan through the academy's winding pathways, lined with sturdy training grounds and towering lecture halls.
The deeper they walked, the more Feng Xuan could sense it—the hidden strength of this place.
Students weren't just practicing their abilities; they were honing them through strategic sparring, spirit fusion training, and complex formations.
Unlike Shrek Academy, where chaos often ran wild, Thunder Abyss Academy had a systematic approach.
Feng Xuan observed quietly.
"Your entrance caused a bit of a stir," the elder finally spoke, glancing at him.
Feng Xuan didn't deny it. "I expected as much."
The elder chuckled lightly. "Confidence is good. But arrogance is a dangerous thing."
Feng Xuan met his gaze.
"I know the difference."
The elder studied him for a moment before nodding. "Good."
They arrived at a spacious hall, where several other academy officials were seated behind a long table.
The elder gestured for Feng Xuan to stand before them.
"This is Feng Xuan," he introduced. "He seeks admission to Thunder Abyss Academy."
The officials exchanged glances.
One of them—a man with short black hair and a scar across his jaw—spoke first.
"You do not look like someone from a noble family," he said. "What qualifications do you have?"
Feng Xuan didn't hesitate.
Instead of answering with words, he raised his right hand.
In an instant, a powerful golden glow erupted around him.
Then—
A massive, golden bow appeared in his grasp, crackling with elemental energy.
The officials' eyes widened slightly.
But Feng Xuan wasn't done.
With boom sprit ring appear yellow, yellow, purple, black. This was after he use illusion to hide his spirit ring but he still use black ring as his forth ring which is not possible at this time.
"What?" Shout one teacher.
"How is this possible?" Shout another one.
Feng Xuan calmly retracted his Bow.
"I believe that is qualification enough."
Silence.
Then, the elder from before let out a soft chuckle.
"I think we can all agree on that. But what about your age?"
Feng Xuan put forward his hand for elder to see his Bone age.
Elder shoked to see Feng Xuan is only twelve year old which is beyond his imagination.
"Tw-twelve year old spirit ancestor with forth ring is black which says his foundation is extremely good." Shouted scar faced elder.
The others exchanged a few words among themselves before nodding.
The man with the scarred jaw finally spoke.
"Very well. Feng Xuan, you are now officially a student of Thunder Abyss Academy."
Feng Xuan nodded.
As he walked out of the hall, the weight of his next steps settled in his mind.
He had successfully enrolled.
Now came the hard part.
Finding his team.
He couldn't enter the tournament alone.
Zhu Zhuqing was a possibility, but her ties to her clan and Dai Mubai made things uncertain.
Xiao Wu? Not an option. Tang Hao would interfere.
Dugu Yan was another potential teammate—but before that, he needed to remove the poison from her body.
And that meant one thing.
He needed to find Dugu Bo first.
As Feng Xuan walked through the academy grounds, his eyes burned with determination.
