Douluo Dalu: Three-Headed Dragon King

Chapter 191: The Filthy Flame of Greed Burns Through the Soul Bone

The Sea God enshrined on Sea God Island was, at best, a first-rank god—equal in level to Yu Tianming. Since the Sea God's assessment could directly enhance the soul ring age of a successor, Yu Tianming could naturally do the same.

Yu Tianming glanced over the four women in front of him, and with a curl of his right fingers, several radiant white lights flew to their foreheads.

Dugu Yan, Ning Rongrong, and the twins Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi all had their martial souls emerge instinctively, while their soul rings began to float and shine beneath their feet. Soul Douluo, Soul Emperor, Soul Douluo, and Soul Sage—though none of them were very old, following Yu Tianming had brought them unimaginable opportunities, and their cultivation had long since surpassed ordinary limits.

"This is divine power I condensed. It functions similar to a god-bestowed soul ring and will adjust to your capacity, converting into appropriate soul ring age," Yu Tianming explained.

As he spoke, their soul ring colors began to shift. Ning Rongrong, in particular, who had never undergone a god test and was a support-type soul master, originally had a first soul ring that had just surpassed a hundred years. But under Yu Tianming's divine influence, the color transformed rapidly. Yellow, purple, black—in the blink of an eye, her ring configuration became black, black, black, black, red, gold.

Yu Tianming smiled. "How does it feel, having your soul rings enhanced?"

"Everything feels the same… except my soul power is much denser, and my skill consumption has dropped. I can maintain my amplification skills indefinitely now." Ning Rongrong beamed. Her Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda had fixed abilities and fixed boosts, so even a cosmetic upgrade made her giddy with joy.

"I'm not like Rongrong. My soul skill effects depend heavily on ring age. After absorbing your divine power, the strength of my skills has skyrocketed," Dugu Yan stepped forward with a soft smile. "I feel like I can go even further. Tianming, don't tell me you held back and didn't upgrade my rings to 100,000 years because you're being stingy with divine power?"

Yu Tianming shook his head. "Yan Yan, for soul beasts, there's a huge difference between ten-thousand-year and hundred-thousand-year levels. Boosting your ring ages too suddenly might hinder your control. You're already a Soul Douluo—soon, you'll become a god yourself. Then you can enhance your rings as you wish."

After explaining the matter of soul ring age, Yu Tianming added, "While I don't recommend upgrading all your rings to a hundred thousand years, having a full set of hundred-thousand-year soul bones suits you all just fine."

Back when Yu Tianming was still weak, he had no access to such high-level soul bones. For the women at his side, even thousand-year soul bones had once been considered precious. Other than Ning Rongrong, the others each had a few lower-tier soul bones.

"You're right. Especially my left arm bone—it's only 4,000 years old. It was useful early on, but now it feels more like a burden," Dugu Yan nodded.

"Exactly. Sis also still has a hundred-year torso bone. Back then it was a treasure, but now it's practically useless," Ah Zhi added. "And in my skull… there's still the sea dragon's spirit. Can you revive it now, Young Master?"

"Of course. Back then it sacrificed itself to become my eighth ring. I've never forgotten it." As Yu Tianming spoke, drops of divine energy merged into their bodies. A blue dragon phantom suddenly rose from Ah Zhi's head and hovered in the air, gently caught in Yu Tianming's palm.

Now that he was a first-rank god, reviving a dragon soul was as simple as breathing—comparable to how the Sea God had granted Bo Saixi her martial soul.

Since the dragon had not yet reached the hundred-thousand-year threshold, its preserved spirit was incomplete and lacked full consciousness. The ocean-blue figure drifted aimlessly in his palm. As Yu Tianming closed his hand, it disappeared silently.

At that moment, in the Dragon God Domain, a massive blue dragon dozens of meters long plunged into the sea, stirring up towering waves.

After several seconds, the dragon slowly lifted its head, surveying the lifeless ocean before muttering, "I… I've been reborn? Tianming really became a god? But… this doesn't feel like the Douluo Continent anymore…"

...

After months of gentle seclusion with his companions, Yu Tianming brought Dugu Yan to the Slaughter City.

Though years had passed, little had changed in the city's outskirts. A blood-red moon hung in the purple sky, casting eerie shadows over the crumbling walls. Outside, a few black-armored knights rode on horses with ashen skin, patrolling in grim silence.

Emerging from the shadows, Dugu Yan scanned the scene and murmured, "It used to be that blood slaves littered the ground here. But now… it's like a ghost town. If not for the scenery, I wouldn't believe this is still the Slaughter City."

Yu Tianming, cloaked in a wide robe, lowered his hood and said quietly, "Three years ago, after you entered the Path of Hell, I killed the King of Slaughter. Without a ruler, the distinction between inner and outer city collapsed. The weak blood slaves who relied on Blood Mary couldn't survive. What remains now is pure lawlessness."

"So Slaughter City only barely held together with the support of the Spirit Hall? Without spirit skills inside the city, the cost of suppression is too high…"

They walked step by step toward the city center. Without the division between inner and outer districts, all fallen soul masters now lived and killed under the same sky. Yet the deeper they ventured, the more people they saw—and ironically, the more 'civilized' the city appeared.

"This doesn't feel like Slaughter City anymore. It's more like some border town. No one's even tried to attack us," Dugu Yan said, confused.

"In the past, those in the outer city paid in blood while those in the inner city fought. But now that the rules are gone, do you think these degenerates would fight just for fun? They love to bully the weak, but they cherish their own lives even more. That's why real slaughter has vanished."

Eventually, they arrived at the core—the Hell Arena, once the heart of Slaughter City. Without the Slaughter King, it had fallen into ruin in just a few short years.

Under his hood, Yu Tianming smirked. "They've enjoyed peace for two years. Now that we're here, that ends."

He grabbed Dugu Yan and leapt to the arena's summit. Below, countless fallen soul masters feasted and reveled in depravity. One red-mohawked fat man stood out in particular.

"Yan Yan, I will turn this place into true hell for these degenerates. You will become the new King of Slaughter. What do you think?"

Her gaze cold, Dugu Yan nodded. "They deserve it. These filth shouldn't be allowed to rot here in peace."

Without further words, Yu Tianming summoned the Shura Divine Sword—once housed in the Sea God Temple. The blood-red greatsword radiated immense killing intent. As Yu Tianming passed it to Dugu Yan, he said, "You're still a Soul Douluo. This sword carries the essence of Tang Chen's Shura Trials. Wait until you're a Titled Douluo before trying to inherit it. For now, let it symbolize your rule."

Dugu Yan nodded solemnly.

Yu Tianming then activated his divine power. A burst of white light engulfed Slaughter City, transferring all fallen soul masters to the outer city. Only the former Slaughter King's enforcers remained before him.

These were the original enforcers, once administrators of the city. After the king's death, they blended in with the crowd and used their knowledge to survive.

They looked at one another in shock—this level of power exceeded even that of the previous ruler.

Without speaking, Yu Tianming unleashed a wave of murderous intent—the Death God Domain.

Only the King of Slaughter and a few Death Gods could use it. In this domain, even in a city where spirit skills were sealed, abilities could be freely released—and all within it could regain their powers.

The moment the domain descended, silence swept over the scene.

Seeing the moment had arrived, Yu Tianming nodded and raised Dugu Yan's sword arm.

"The previous King of Slaughter died three years ago. Before you now stands your new ruler."

For a heartbeat, no one moved. Then, a sharp-witted enforcer dropped to her knees. "All hail the King of Slaughter!"

Like a dam breaking, the others followed in unison.

Once the commotion died down, Yu Tianming declared, "From now on, Slaughter City returns to its old laws. All of you—back to your posts."

As the enforcers dispersed, Yu Tianming waved his hand again. The Hell Arena began to rebuild itself—crumbling stones growing anew, restoring the battlefield to its former glory.

Yu Tianming, Dugu Yan, and a few key enforcers stepped into its depths…

...

After the Soul Master Tournament, Ma Hongjun began wandering the continent.

As a thirty-something rank Soul Ancestor, he mostly ran into commoners or weak soul masters. Under Flender's influence, his tendency to bully the weak flourished. Eventually, he was arrested for rape and sent to Slaughter City—where he had survived for two years.

When Yu Tianming's divine power swept over the city, a white flash sent Ma Hongjun into a broken, narrow room—face to face with a scar-faced soul master.

Both were on edge. Two violent souls, trapped in a tight space, each knowing their lives were on the line. Without hesitation, Ma Hongjun lunged with a dagger. The other raised a cleaver.

Moments later, Ma Hongjun stood up, bleeding but victorious. His wounds cauterized by his Phoenix Evil Fire.

"Damn, that hurt like hell… but this loser actually had a storage ring. Not a total loss."

His eyes gleamed.

"A soul bone?"

"A torso bone?!"

Ma Hongjun clamped a hand over his mouth, crept to the window, scanned for witnesses, then quickly pressed the dark red, blotchy bone into his chest. At once, black-red flames engulfed the room.

When the fire faded, a feathered beast stood in his place—hair bristling, wings sprouting from both shoulders, and a twisted grin on his face.

"Hahahaha! The Filthy Flame of Greed burns through the torso bone. From today forward, in Slaughter City—Fatty is the true king!!"

Meanwhile, in the center of the city, under his hood, Yu Tianming's lips curled in amusement.
