Evil Soul Masters: The Most Reviled Existence on Douluo Continent

Evil soul masters are an abhorrent existence on the Douluo Continent, possessing powers that far exceed those of ordinary soul masters. Their cultivation methods are inherently twisted, relying on sinister techniques that deviate from traditional paths. These practitioners vary in strength, with higher-level evil soul masters wielding immense power. Their history stretches back to the era of the Spirit Hall, where rogue soul masters, corrupted by malevolent practices, began treading the path of evil.

Compared to conventional soul masters, evil soul masters advance faster in cultivation up to the Titled Douluo stage. However, the path is fraught with peril—persecuted for their practices, ostracized by society, and hunted due to the requirements of their martial spirits, which often demand blood, soul power, or other resources for cultivation. Few among them manage to reach the rank of Titled Douluo.

Unlike righteous soul masters, who are admired and respected, evil soul masters are universally loathed. Except during the Sun and Moon Empire's reign in the Peerless Tang Sect era, they have been detested and hunted by governments, federations, and sects across time.

Definitions of an "evil soul master" have varied across eras. In the Peerless Tang Sect period, possessing an evil martial spirit was enough to be labeled as such. By the Legend of the Dragon King era, the standard evolved: those with evil martial spirits but kind hearts were no longer deemed evil soul masters. This is why individuals like Tang Wulin—who could absorb life force through the Golden Dragon Spear—and Yuanen Yehui, who possessed the fallen angel martial spirit, were not considered evil soul masters by Shrek Academy. However, the Sun and Moon Federation remained more stringent; any bearer of an evil martial spirit, regardless of their intentions, faced capture, torture, or execution.

When an evil soul master's mental state wavers, their body emits an ominous blue-black aura.

In the world of Douluo Dalu, there are ten primary classifications of soul masters: strength attack, agility attack, control, defense, healing, auxiliary, food, summoning, power, and ranged attack systems. Evil soul masters extend these types to sinister categories like corpse manipulation, spirit domination, beast taming (using evil techniques to control soul beasts), exorcism, blood transformation, and malevolent summoning.

The Argument Between Ye Feng and Flanders

"Ye Feng, who taught you such notions?" Flanders asked with a frown.

"Dean, am I wrong?" Ye Feng retorted calmly.

"This world isn't built on fairness alone. Many things defy logic, and ultimately, the strongest fist dictates the rules," Flanders replied sternly, avoiding a direct answer.

"Dean," Ye Feng continued, "as the saying goes, a master shows the way, but cultivation depends on the individual. While you may be Ma Hongjun's teacher, it is Ma Hongjun who must forge his own path."

Ye Feng lightly brushed the bracelet on his left wrist. Hidden within it was the Cockscomb Phoenix Sunflower—a rare immortal herb capable of resolving Ma Hongjun's martial spirit issue. However, Ye Feng chose not to hand it over. He believed that Ma Hongjun, possessing such a unique advantage with his Evil Fire Phoenix martial spirit, did not require external intervention.

The Evil Fire Phoenix, capable of generating soul power through the union of yin and yang, was a rare opportunity in Ye Feng's eyes.

"I am his teacher," Flanders declared.

"And I am his brother," Ye Feng countered.

The tense atmosphere grew heavier as Ye Feng and Flanders locked gazes. To ease the growing tension, Ning Rongrong interjected curiously, "Senior Brother, were these ideas taught to you by Grandpa Jian?"

"Grandpa Jian?" Flanders' brows furrowed at her words. He asked cautiously, "Ye Feng, does this mean your teacher is..."

"Yes," Ye Feng affirmed with a nod.

At this, Flanders hesitated. Chen Xin, also known as Sword Douluo, was an unparalleled expert. In comparison, Flanders dared not assert his authority, especially regarding Ma Hongjun's situation. Yet, the threat of the Spirit Hall loomed. Should Ma Hongjun's status as an evil soul master be revealed, he would face either execution or exile to the perilous Slaughter City.

Sensing Flanders' uncertainty, Ye Feng pressed his point. "Dean, your concerns stem from fear of Ma Hongjun being exposed. But as I see it, there's no need to worry about the Spirit Hall's pursuit."

"Oh? Explain," Flanders said skeptically.

"Firstly, I've provided Ma Hongjun with financial resources to support himself and up to twenty girlfriends if necessary. With that arrangement, even his unusual martial spirit demands would be manageable. Secondly, Shrek Academy is in a remote area, isolated from external scrutiny. As long as Ma Hongjun avoids official Spirit Hall assessments before becoming a Titled Douluo, his martial spirit will remain undetected. Lastly, even if the Spirit Hall were to discover it, what crime is there in managing one's personal relationships? Playing with one's wife or girlfriend is hardly illegal," Ye Feng concluded.

Flanders pondered deeply. As the dean of Shrek Academy, he understood the benefits of unique martial spirits, including those categorized as "evil." A martial spirit like Ma Hongjun's could yield exceptional cultivation speed.

"Ma Hongjun," Ye Feng asked, "does your soul power increase after these interactions?"

"Yes, especially with a woman's first time. It significantly boosts my soul power," Ma Hongjun admitted.

"Then the issue lies not with your martial spirit but with your mindset. If you maintain a kind heart, you are not an evil soul master and have nothing to fear," Ye Feng affirmed.

Turning to Ma Hongjun, Flanders added gravely, "Ma Hongjun, if I ever find you harming an innocent woman, I will end your life with my own hands."

"Teacher, I promise to hold fast to my morals. I will never betray my conscience or harm others," Ma Hongjun vowed sincerely.

Ye Feng's Reward

As the conversation ended, a system notification echoed in Ye Feng's mind:

"Ding Dong! Congratulations on altering the original storyline, persuading Flanders and Ma Hongjun to accept an unconventional path. Impact: Far-reaching. Reward: 100 allocable attribute points."

A hundred points!

Ye Feng was stunned. This reward exceeded his expectations.

As the academy day progressed, Ma Hongjun took Ye Feng's advice to heart. He sought out his former girlfriends, apologizing for his past behavior and offering financial aid to their families. With their consent, Ma Hongjun quickly formed a close circle of twelve girlfriends, providing a temporary resolution to his martial spirit's unique demands.

Meanwhile, Ye Feng approached Flanders privately. For Ye Feng, every interaction was an opportunity to influence the story and gain more attribute points. After all, in this world, as Flanders had said, strength dictated reason.
