Douluo Dalu: Starting With Tom Cat

Chapter 212: Chapter 212: First Encounter with Hu Liena

Shui Bing'er and Shui Yue'er stared blankly at the giant hand formed of splashing water as it carried Shen An away.

"Sister, what should we do?" Shui Yue'er asked dazedly.

"Let's hurry back and find Mom. It might be a powerful soul beast that took Shen An and the others." Shui Bing'er said with a worried expression. What had just happened was far too bizarre.

Why did strange things always happen whenever Shen An was involved?

The two sisters, both filled with concern, unleashed their soul power and quickly formed an icy bridge across the river, sprinting back toward Tianshui City.

"Damn, this is way too freaking intense!"

Shen An had lost count of how many times the massive hand of water had flung him into the air. The wind roared in his ears, and even with his level of cultivation, he felt dizzy from the force.

Tom and Jerry clung tightly to their little boat.

Finally, the watery hand bent the boat like a spring and snap—catapulted them into a forest with a high-pitched whoosh.

It was outrageous. The wooden boat didn't break but bounced like it was made of rubber. Shen An was sure this had something to do with Tom and Jerry.

Shen An tumbled across the ground in a completely unnatural way, skipping like a stone across water—but on land.

Everything around them was rapidly blurring past, a testament to their absurd speed.

"Crap, there's a tree up ahead! And a big one too!" Shen An exclaimed in panic. Crashing into that would hurt like hell, but he had no control over his body at all.

Tom and Jerry shut their eyes tight, bracing for the painful impact.

Whoosh—something strange happened. Not only did they not hit the tree, they smoothly slid along the branches all the way upward, finally crashing thud into a coconut high above.

Shen An landed on the ground, dizzy and groaning. He couldn't understand why there were coconuts in the middle of a forest. Weren't they supposed to grow on beaches or tropical islands?

All he could say was that the world of Douluo was truly a mystery.

"This scene feels so familiar," Shen An muttered through clenched teeth, still aching from the impact.

He vaguely remembered a scene from Tom and Jerry, where Tom was so hungry at sea that he started eating his own shoes, desperate to reach land.

Then the sea had stirred up a storm and threw Tom directly onto an island.

Staring at Jerry, Shen An fell into a daze. Was it because Jerry wanted to leave Tianshui City so badly that this scene had been reenacted?

He couldn't help but feel a headache. These reality-defying events and one coincidence after another—if not for the influence of the two Heavenly Emperors, Shen An couldn't think of any other explanation.

"Well, whatever. Since I'm already here, I might as well make the best of it. But this place looks really familiar…" Shen An muttered.

Looking at the bizarre landscape around him, Shen An sucked in a breath. "This… this looks like the Star Dou Great Forest?"

Damn, so it only takes a single splash of water to get from Tianshui City to the Star Dou Forest?

Shen An fell into thought. Originally, he'd planned to wait until reaching the Soul King level before coming here. But since fate had brought him here, he might as well treat it as a vacation for Tom and Jerry—and maybe see if he could do anything about the Titan Giant Ape.

As for worrying about danger? That was impossible. Compared to his own cultivation, it was Tom and Jerry—and their arsenal of absurd tools—that were his real trump cards.

He still couldn't forget how he was nearly killed that day. Unless he took revenge, there would always be a knot in his heart.

"It's just… the last time I entered the Star Dou Forest, the Titan Giant Ape managed to find me immediately. It must have some way to sense auras. I can't act recklessly this time." Shen An murmured.

He quietly activated his Unbound soul skill. Its main function was to grant immunity to domains and control-type soul techniques, but it also had the ability to mask his presence.

But which way to go? Shen An scratched his head. He didn't know the layout of the Star Dou Forest at all.

"Tom, pick a direction—any direction. We'll just wander around like we're sightseeing."

Hearing this, Tom swiftly picked up the dazed Jerry, grabbed his tail, and spun him clockwise like a wind-up toy.

Jerry spun rapidly on the spot and eventually pointed his head due south. Tom pointed excitedly—this way.

Shen An chuckled. These two really were the best of friends.

As they walked south, they didn't encounter any aggressive soul beasts. Maybe Shen An's suppressed aura made them seem too weak to bother with.

The Star Dou Great Forest was the largest soul beast forest in the Douluo Continent, with incredibly rich biodiversity. Along the way, they passed countless strange and colorful fruits.

Bang!

A loud sound rang out. Tom, who had been happily munching on a dark purple fruit, suddenly collapsed. His head turned a vivid green—he was clearly poisoned.

Jerry was unfazed. He casually pulled out a medical kit and began treating Tom with practiced ease.

Shen An's mouth twitched. How many times had this happened already? These two kept eating whatever they saw, and it was always either Tom getting poisoned or Jerry passing out.

Still, the two had become well-versed in detoxification by now.

Crack!

Shen An accidentally stepped on a dead branch. The crisp sound echoed as he pushed aside a tall patch of bushes.

"Who's there?" came a soft, feminine yet eerie voice. A figure appeared silently before Shen An.

So fast! Shen An was inwardly startled. The sheer speed made even the agility-type Soul Sage Flender look like a child in comparison.

The figure wore white robes, his skin smooth as a baby's, and his features were exquisitely handsome. Though he stood plainly in front of Shen An, it felt as though he didn't exist at all.

Such speed, such presence—Shen An's senses screamed in alarm. Until now, only two people had given him this feeling: Dugu Bo and Tang Hao.

A Titled Douluo? Shen An thought, lamenting his terrible luck. Wherever he went, trouble followed.

"Kid, this is Spirit Hall business. Stay out of the way," the man said coolly. It was Yue Guan.

He wasn't one to kill without reason, but Hu Liena was about to absorb a soul ring—it was best not to be disturbed.

"I am Li Feiyu, here to acquire a soul ring. I mean no offense, I'll leave immediately," Shen An said calmly. When traveling, of course he wouldn't use his real name.

Yue Guan gave a casual nod. Since the boy was tactful, there was no need to act.

Just as Shen An was about to leave, Jerry stumbled in with vacant eyes, followed by the sluggish Tom who began miming a bizarre eating-and-fighting performance.

Yue Guan blinked. What just ran past him—was that a mouse?

A Titled Douluo like him had almost failed to catch it with his eyes. Watching Tom's performance, he couldn't help but click his tongue in amazement.

He'd never seen such a lively cat before.

"Kid, take your cat and mouse and get out of here," Yue Guan said again.

"Grandpa Yue, let them stay. That mouse looks like it's hallucinating and needs rest. The Star Dou Forest is too dangerous. Let them stay a while."

A husky, slightly seductive voice rang out.
