Douluo Dalu: Lucky Star

Chapter 315: [DD]: 315

Bibi Dong was well aware of Yu Xiaogang's hatred for her. Even without the abilities of her Rakshasa Domain, she had enough self-awareness to understand this. After all...

At this stage, Yu Xiaogang would undoubtedly want to kill her—she could sense it. Yet, if given the choice again, she would still save him.

Her feelings toward Yu Xiaogang were complicated, but one thing was certain: she didn't want to see him die in front of her.

When that faint glimmer appeared in Yu Xiaogang's hand, Bibi Dong noticed it.

A sleeve arrow—she recognized it.

This kind of weapon had first appeared in Tang San's possession. After Han Li had dealt with him, he even provided a sample to the Martial Soul Research Institute. As the Pope, she naturally knew about it. However, such hidden weapons posed very little threat to Soul Masters, so she hadn't paid much attention to it.

Therefore, when she noticed Yu Xiaogang's movement, she chose to pretend she didn't see it.

Letting him vent a little wasn't a big deal. Besides, she had divine armor. Even without it, this thing couldn't break her defense. That's what she thought, and that's how she acted—she even deliberately adjusted her posture so he could aim at her heart.

Standing across from them, Han Li could barely hold it together.

As expected of you, Bibi Dong—what dedication. But are you not going to regret this?

Han Li was genuinely worried he'd burst out laughing. Just moments before, he had been prepared to take Bibi Dong's attack head-on. Instead, he decisively took a single step backward.

Yes, just one step, but he used the power of space laws in that single step.

Did she think he didn't know she had activated Eternal Wound? He was a man who had comprehended the Power of Destruction, after all.

It's worth mentioning here that before a Soul Master becomes a god, their soul ring abilities are essentially fragments of certain laws. The effect of Eternal Wound was derived from a fragment of Destruction's power.

So, no matter how well Bibi Dong hid it, her move was completely visible to Han Li.

Even without comprehending Destruction's power, Han Li wouldn't have taken the hit. As a transmigrator, he knew well that Bibi Dong's Spider Emperor clone and Eternal Wound were among her most famous moves—her signature abilities. As a seasoned strategist, Han Li would have to be out of his mind to ignore that.

Why would he take the hit if he could dodge? No matter how weak Bibi Dong might seem, she was still a first-tier god, albeit an incomplete one. Han Li had no intention of making the low-level mistake of acting cool only to be counter-killed. Staying in peak condition to deal with whatever came next was the most sensible course of action.

With that step, he widened the distance between himself and Bibi Dong by nearly a kilometer.

Bibi Dong froze for just a moment before immediately turning around—she had to escape now. However, the road to escape no longer seemed so smooth. She hadn't expected Han Li to possess space abilities. He'd never shown such powers before.

The good news was that she could temporarily break free.

The bad news was that truly escaping had become much more difficult.

Still, for now, she had at least torn open a gap. She was betting that Han Li hadn't mastered the laws of space and that his ability came from a soul bone. After all, that teleporting rabbit had ended up in his hands.

It was perfectly reasonable for a 100,000-year soul beast to become Han Li's eighth soul ring. Bibi Dong speculated based on her logic while keeping a close eye on Han Li, not daring to release her Eternal Wound.

From her perspective, Han Li had retreated because he sensed danger. She had to maintain enough deterrence.

Not far behind her, Qian Renxue pulled the Angelic Sacred Sword from the Spider Emperor clone, which hadn't managed to stall her for long.

Then, as if she had noticed something, Qian Renxue suddenly smiled.

Not just her—Han Li smiled as well. In Bibi Dong's eyes, their smiles were the same, though she couldn't tell who had influenced whom.

What are they laughing at? Bibi Dong wondered in confusion.

Then, she saw Han Li snap his fingers. It was a crisp sound, yet inexplicably eerie in this moment.

Bibi Dong froze mid-charge, stopping in place.

Immediately, there was a heavy thud beneath her.

Yu Xiaogang had slipped free from her grasp and fallen to the ground.

"Hahahahahaha!"

Yu Xiaogang let out the most joyous laughter of his life. He laughed so hard that tears rolled down his face, and he rolled around on the ground.

Still laughing, he crawled back to his feet, clutching his stomach with one hand while pointing at Bibi Dong with the other. "Bibi Dong, didn't expect that, did you? It was me! You said it yourself—revenge!"

Following his gaze, Bibi Dong looked down to see a crystalline sleeve arrow embedded in her heart. Only the tail end remained visible outside her body. Her purple divine armor had been pierced, and frost spread from the arrow's impact point, covering her body. This was one reason why she had stopped moving.

In front of her and behind her stood two figures—Han Li and Qian Renxue.

Han Li stood directly in front of her, holding an ice blade that had been plunged into her chest. If one could see through her body, they would find that the very tip of the ice blade—shaped like a dragon's soul—was wrapped around a purple-red, diamond-shaped gem at its tail end.

Behind her, Qian Renxue was in a lunging position, her right hand extended forward. The golden Angelic Holy Sword imbued with the sacred flames of the sun, pierced Bibi Dong from behind and emerged from her abdomen. From front to back.

The snap of Han Li's fingers had been a deliberate ploy to draw Bibi Dong's attention. At the same time, he activated the power of space, allowing both him and Qian Renxue to teleport directly beside Bibi Dong.

Of course, this plan had a prerequisite — the hidden arrow that had pierced Bibi Dong's heart. A simple hidden arrow would never have been able to breach Bibi Dong's formidable defenses. However, what if the arrow was a specially crafted weapon by Han Li?

The arrowhead was forged using the Law of Ice, encased in standard arrow materials, and its core filled with destructive energy. It was cloaked using the Law of Fate and further concealed by the will of the plane itself. With all these factors in play, it was no surprise that Bibi Dong failed to notice it.

Most crucially, the arrow had been fired by Yu Xiaogang himself. Bibi Dong never would have dodged it.

After a brief pause, Qian Renxue and Han Li withdrew their weapons from Bibi Dong's body. Qian Renxue's sword strike had shattered Bibi Dong's dantian, while Han Li's blade, upon withdrawal, had taken away her divine core — completely intact.

Bibi Dong remained in a daze, too stunned to even resist.

Despite her severe injuries, she did not die immediately. After all, she had already ascended to godhood. However, she made no effort to draw on her limited divine power to heal her wounds. Instead, she allowed her godly body's natural healing abilities to keep her barely alive.

The hidden arrow was still lodged in her heart, its shaft protruding, with blood dripping steadily from its tail onto the ground.

Her movements were mechanical as she slowly turned her head, her eyes landing on Yu Xiaogang, who was still laughing hysterically. Her mouth opened and closed a few times, but she couldn't utter a single word.

"This is karma. Retribution, you understand? Bibi Dong, you should have seen this day coming when you killed my father and destroyed my sect," Yu Xiaogang sneered, his face twisted with cruelty.

"And you thought I loved you? You're a fool, the dumbest fool of all. How does it feel now, being skewered by your own daughter's sword? Hahaha!"

"Y-you… filthy…"

Yu Xiaogang's voice was filled with venom as he continued to mock her, his heart brimming with unbridled hatred. Seeing Qian Renxue pierce Bibi Dong with a sword and witnessing his hidden arrow lodged in Bibi Dong's heart gave him an intoxicating sense of satisfaction. The pain he'd endured from his earlier poisoning was momentarily forgotten, all of it transmuted into pure contempt and scorn for Bibi Dong.

"You're being too loud."

Han Li's voice suddenly rang out. A flash of white light flickered across Yu Xiaogang's throat like lightning. His voice came to an abrupt stop.

He clutched his neck with trembling hands, feeling warmth flow from the wound. Han Li had slit his throat in one swift, decisive motion.

To Han Li, Yu Xiaogang was a worthless existence. He didn't care if Yu Xiaogang struck at Bibi Dong, but involving Qian Renxue was an unforgivable line to cross. This pathetic fool was as clueless as ever. Since everything had already reached its conclusion, there was no reason for Yu Xiaogang to continue existing. Han Li didn't mind being the one to play the villain in the final act.

The heavy thud of a body hitting the ground echoed once more. Yu Xiaogang fell, his eyes wide in disbelief. Why? It was all over. He had thought he would survive.

Bibi Dong's body swayed. Her instincts urged her to step forward and support him, but as she lifted her right foot, she set it back down.

At that moment, she realized she wasn't as heartbroken as she had imagined. Just seconds ago, this man had been hurling his most vicious taunts at her, and it was his arrow that had led to her current state.

She raised her hands and gazed at them for a while, lost in thought. But in the end, she couldn't muster the courage to turn around and face Qian Renxue.

After a long pause, she lifted her right hand, gripped the tail of the arrow lodged in her heart, and pulled it out forcefully. She tossed it aside, and as she did, her body fell backward with a heavy crash, stirring up a cloud of dust.

When the dust settled, reflected in her eyes were the figures of Han Li and Qian Renxue.

She turned her head to look at Han Li. For the first time, there was an unprecedented calm in her gaze.

"Do you think I'm pathetic?" she asked.

"Yes," Han Li answered without hesitation. He wasn't the type to show mercy just because she was on the brink of death. He wasn't a saint.

"Do you think Nana will be affected by me?" Bibi Dong asked with a faint smile.

"She will, but not by much. I don't care about her, and I won't bother with anyone else," Han Li replied honestly.

"That's good," Bibi Dong murmured. She then removed a ring from her hand and used her divine power to float it into Han Li's hand. "Do me a favor and give this to her. She won't cause you trouble for it."

"Alright," Han Li agreed with a nod.

"Yue Guan and Gui…" She started to mention them but then shook her head. "Forget it. You're on good terms with them."

Before Han Li could respond, she continued, "How should I die to best suit your interests?"

"Go up there and make a firework," Han Li said casually, pointing to the sky. He didn't think there was anything wrong with her question.

"One last question. Why?" Bibi Dong asked, her tone vague.

"Maybe you just had bad luck. Or maybe you're just bad at thinking things through," Han Li replied with an equally cryptic answer.

Bibi Dong laughed. It was a hollow, self-deprecating laugh.

"Will you send me off?" she asked. "Not that it's for you."

"Alright," Han Li agreed.

Moments later, high in the sky above the battlefield, a faint red light flickered before exploding into a brilliant burst of violet-red energy. The shockwave ripped through the air, leaving behind a jagged black rift in the sky.

On the ground below, an overwhelming sense of dread washed over every living being on the continent. Their hearts pounded wildly with unease.

Until the end, Bibi Dong never spoke a single word to Qian Renxue.
