Douluo Dalu 5: Rebirth Of Tang San

Chapter 714: King of All Flames

"Having confidence in you is one thing, but I’m also certain that the phoenix race in general won’t try to kill you, nor will the Immortal Flame Phoenixes. So, if you face an Immortal Flame Phoenix Great Demon King, go all out, defeat your opponent, and showcase your strength. As long as your life isn’t in danger, we must strive for victory. I’ve prepared something good for you. Well, actually, you prepared it yourself, and it’s absolutely perfect. No matter how powerful their Phoenix True Fire is, it will be useless against you. I’ll make sure the Celestial Fox Demon Emperor’s plan… backfires, hehe."

Time seemed to slow down as the tiny spark of rainbow fire drifted toward the blue Void Flame. For some reason, Cao Yuwei’s heart skipped a beat, and he had a sudden premonition that something bad was about to happen.

But at this moment, nothing could be reversed. That tiny spark of rainbow fire made contact with the Void Flame.

An instant change occurred in the blue Void Flame—an incredibly strange change. The overwhelmingly powerful Void Flame began to expand the moment it touched that tiny spark of rainbow fire. In an instant, it swelled like a bubble, and even the Phoenix True Fire it encountered started to expand.

With a series of soft pops, the bubbles burst one after another, dissipating into the air.

The Void Flame, which was supposed to annihilate everything, had been annihilated itself!

The spark of rainbow fire was, naturally, a drop of Rainbow Skyfire Liquid.

Rainbow Skyfire could burn anything. Not metaphorically, but literally anything. It wasn’t particularly great in terms of offensive power; its best use was for dealing with divine items, whether it was creating them or destroying them. It was, however, particularly great in terms of the fire element—it was the absolute highest level of flame. Thus, Rainbow Skyfire could burn not just objects but even other flames!

It was the absolute bane of lesser flames, and with it being at the highest level, naturally, all other flames were "lesser flames." Otherwise, the Fire God from the divine realm where Tang San came from wouldn’t have used Heavenly Fire Essence Iron to forge his divine weapon.

The bubbles tinted by Rainbow Skyfire appeared dreamlike and surreal, giving an almost unreal feeling. Even the Emperors present were left stunned, especially the Undying Demon Emperor. As the most powerful user of phoenix flames alive, he knew better than anyone how powerful it was, but at this moment, both the Phoenix True Fire and the Void Flame had been reduced to nothing. It was beyond comprehension, yet the undeniable truth was right before his eyes.

Mei Gongzi waved her left hand, which was wrapped in a "glove" of Rainbow Skyfire Liquid, around her body. Instantly, a vast area of Phoenix True Fire around her dissipated into nothingness.

She pointed forward with the Celestial Plume in her right hand, and a blinding silver light erupted almost instantly. In that moment, her bloodline power and divine consciousness fused into one, and she focused all of her spatial power into this single strike. On the surface, it seemed like just a flicker of silver light, but to her opponent, it felt like an unstoppable sword, one that would pierce through anything in its path.

The seasoned Great Demon King didn’t dare to take it lightly. He instantly retreated, tracing arcs of red light with his hands in front of him. His divine consciousness surged, and let out a phoenix cry.

In the end, Mei Gongzi was one major level below her opponent, and although her divine consciousness was exceptional, it was still quite a bit below his. The Celestial Plume was momentarily slowed before it pierced into the arcs of red light.

The red light couldn’t stop the burst of silver light, and with a soft puff, a hole was punctured through it. Standing behind the red light, Cao Yuwei pointed a finger at the silver glow. In the next moment, he grunted and staggered backward.

Mei Gongzi also quivered, and she took two steps back.

Cao Yuwei's face showed nothing but astonishment; his right index finger was bent backward at an unnatural angle. Mei Gongzi’s Celestial Plume had broken it!

The Great Demon King of the Immortal Flame Phoenix clan was the first to be injured!

Steadying the quivering Celestial Plume, Mei Gongzi regained her stance; her aura surged with power, and her killing intent rose sharply. She swung her left hand wrapped in Rainbow Skyfire Liquid, scattering the Phoenix True Fire Domain around her. A white halo rippled out from her, as the God-Killing Domain blossomed. She was fighting against Cao Youwei’s suppression!

Cao Yuwei's Phoenix True Fire Domain could prevent the formation of energy-based domains by simply burning them away, but it couldn’t stop the intangible and formless killing intent. His mind tightened as fear was born deep within, causing his momentum to falter. However, Phoenix True Fire had already ignited on his hand, and the broken finger was reattached by the burning flames.

The strongest innate ability of the Immortal Flame Phoenix—Nirvana Rebirth, the ability that made them undying!

Mei Gongzi took a step forward, her lithe body soaring gracefully into the air. The Celestial Plume in her hand traced arcs of light, weaving strands of spatial bindings within the dissipating Phoenix True Fire, which then moved to entwine Cao Yuwei.

Cao Yuwei was formidable; even in the face of such a situation, he remained unflustered, continuing to maintain the suppressive force of his domain. He clenched his right hand into a fist and threw a punch.

A piercing phoenix cry resounded again, and a massive phoenix silhouette appeared behind him. That punch was like a volcanic eruption, surging straight toward Mei Gongzi. The spatial bindings wrapping around him shattered instantly.

After the brief shock caused by the Rainbow Skyfire Liquid’s countering of the Void Flame, Cao Yuwei got himself back together. Although he didn’t know what that rainbow flame was, he accurately judged it to be the product of a divine item capable of countering fire. But did that mean he couldn’t win because his fire was countered? He was a Great Demon King, after all. So, he immediately resorted to the simplest yet most effective method: overwhelming force.

You may counter my Phoenix True Fire, but you can't counter the bloodline power of a Great Demon King. It’s my strength against your weakness, so let’s see how you deal with that.

As the punch that seemed capable of piercing the entire world came flying at her, Mei Gongzi's long hair fluttered behind her. Both she and her opponent were god-level powerhouses; had this battle taken place outside, it would have caused a tremendous upheaval, affecting a vast area. But within the Council Hall, an invisible force kept their battle within a certain range, preventing any energy from leaking out.

The Celestial Plume traced a circle in the air. As Cao Yuwei’s overwhelmingly powerful punch entered its range, it was drawn by a strange force and dissipated—just like that, effortlessly. Cao Youwei even stumbled half a step to the side, drawn in by the force of Mei Gongzi’s Celestial Plume.

In the next instant, the Celestial Plume transformed into thousands of cold rays that shot forward.

Blazing Phoenix True Fire surged up as Cao Yuwei instinctively used it to shield his body. But this time, the rainbow flames flowed down the Celestial Plume, covering it like a burning sheath. Wherever it touched, it instantly dispersed the Phoenix True Fire.

Phoenix feathers scattered, exposing a deep, scorched gash. Cao Yuwei quickly retreated, and for the first time, a serious expression crossed his face.

Although his opponent’s strength was clearly inferior, her combat techniques, bloodline abilities, and method of countering his Phoenix True Fire made him feel like his obviously greater power was completely useless. This sensation was incredibly frustrating.

With a loud cry, the Phoenix True Fire surged again, sweeping toward Mei Gongzi like a tidal wave. By now, Cao Yuwei was both angry and embarrassed. He was determined to see how long Mei Gongzi’s rainbow flames could hold out.

But the rainbow flames ignited once more, forming just a thin layer around Mei Gongzi and creating what appeared to be a very delicate barrier.
