Douluo Dalu 2: The True God King

Chapter 363: [DD2]: 363

"Big Brother~"

Tai Tan wore a mournful face, looking at Niu Tian with a pitiful expression.

He hadn't expected Dong'er to say such things to him, and his heart was half frozen with disappointment.

Feeling wronged, Tai Tan desperately needed some comfort from his elder brother.

Niu Tian glared at him and said gruffly, "What's the point of calling me? Do you even have the face to call me that?"

"How dare you lose your temper and forget the promises you made yourself?"

"And the most important thing—despite using so much of your strength, you still couldn't handle Su Yu. Can you be any more useless?"

"My reputation has been completely ruined by you."

Tai Tan shrank his neck and mumbled defensively, "But Su Yu has some skills, and I was careless. Next time, I'll win against him."

"Next time?!"

Niu Tian's eyes widened. At this rate, it was hard to say who would beat whom next time.

As things stood now, Tai Tan was still stronger than Su Yu, but give it some time, and the outcome could change.

One or two years later, who knew who would be cleaning up after whom?

This fool couldn't even foresee that much?

Niu Tian felt his anger boiling over and kicked Tai Tan twice. "Stop playing dead! Get up now!"

"Alright~"

Tai Tan muttered grudgingly, got up, and followed Niu Tian into the castle.

...

Meanwhile, Wang Dong'er helped Su Yu back to the Cold Jade Room, where she hurriedly rummaged through cabinets to find some healing medicine.

"Su Yu, these are special healing pills from our Clear Sky Clan. Take two of them—they'll help you recover."

Wang Dong'er took out two pills and held them up to Su Yu's mouth, urging him gently.

Su Yu accepted the pills, popped them into his mouth, and followed them with a roll of dragon ginseng leaf. After some light meditation, most of his injuries healed.

Wang Dong'er sat on a nearby chair, staring intently at Su Yu. The moment he opened his eyes, she immediately leaned closer.

"Su Yu, how are you feeling? Are you okay?"

Her beautiful eyes brimmed with worry and concern.

Su Yu felt a warmth in his heart and gently held her hand. "I'm fine. I'm almost fully recovered."

"I don't believe you! You spat out so much blood earlier. It's all Second Uncle's fault—he didn't know how to hold back at all."

Wang Dong'er grumbled, her pretty face showing a hint of indignation.

He had promised to use only thirty percent of his strength, but as the fight went on, he went berserk.

So unreliable.

Hmph!

Second Uncle, you're the worst. Wang Dong'er swore she wouldn't speak to him again.

Su Yu chuckled and shook his head. "It's nothing serious. Dong'er, I'm not as fragile as you think."

"And… you can't put all the blame on your Second Uncle for this fight. I made mistakes too."

"I lost focus in the heat of the moment."

"It's not your fault! Second Uncle broke his word first. If he hadn't recklessly used his strength, you wouldn't have ended up like this."

"In conclusion, it's all Second Uncle's fault."

Wang Dong'er pouted and complained.

Hearing this, Su Yu couldn't help but laugh.

Although it's said that girls tend to side with outsiders, Wang Dong'er's loyalty was so extreme that even he found it surprising.

To be fair, if his future daughter were this biased toward others, he might just die of anger.

Though he enjoyed being the favored one, Su Yu still said, "Dong'er, you can't talk like that. He's still your Second Uncle, after all."

Gently caressing Wang Dong'er's face, Su Yu spoke softly, "Dong'er, your Second Uncle is injured too. You should go check on him."

"I'm not going! I want to stay with you. Besides, Second Uncle has thick skin—he'll be fine."

Wang Dong'er wasn't worried at all. Tai Tan's martial soul was the Titan Giant Ape, known for its endurance.

For him, injuries like these were just scratches.

"Silly girl, it's not about whether he's fine or not. If your Second Uncle is injured and you don't go see him, how do you think he and your First Uncle will feel?"

"I know you care about me, but your First Uncle and Second Uncle are also your family."

"Other than me, they might be the only ones in this world who truly care about you."

"Dong'er, let me tell you something: never let down the people who love you."

Su Yu gently pinched Wang Dong'er's cheek, his tone full of sincerity.

Wang Dong'er didn't have many people in this world who genuinely cared for her.

For Tang San and Xiao Wu, their focus was on Tang Wutong. To them, Wang Dong'er had never truly existed.

Wang Dong'er was a new personality born after Tang Wutong's soul split.

In the original story, whether it was Wang Qiu'er or Wang Dong'er, they were both just individual personalities.

The fusion that created Tang Wutong was neither Wang Dong'er nor Wang Qiu'er—it was a new person with their memories.

In other words, when Tang Wutong appeared, Wang Dong'er and Wang Qiu'er ceased to exist entirely.

Su Yu's feelings, however, were purely for Wang Dong'er—her simplicity, her innocence, her charm. Not for the so-called Tang Wutong.

As for Tai Tan and Niu Tian?

Did they care more for the Wang Dong'er they had raised or the Tang Wutong that came later?

In Su Yu's opinion, they likely cared more for Wang Dong'er.

But their influence was too small to challenge the decisions of the certain god king.

What Tang San wanted to do, they couldn't stop.

Of course, that was just Su Yu's speculation—it might not be entirely correct.

But wasn't it still possible?

If he could, Su Yu hoped Wang Dong'er could have more family members by her side.

That way, she wouldn't have to face conflict and battle alone in the future.

As for Tai Tan and Niu Tian, if possible, Su Yu wanted to spare their lives.

After all, in the original Douluo Dalu 3, they helped establish a small world within the ascension platform to nurture soul beasts, rejoining the soul beast faction.

They were different from Xiao Wu and Ah Yin, who betrayed their kind. Tai Tan and Niu Tian might still have a chance for redemption.

Hearing Su Yu's words, Wang Dong'er fell into deep thought.

Recalling the doting care of Niu Tian and Tai Tan, a trace of guilt rose in her heart.

Had she gone too far earlier when she said those hurtful words to her Second Uncle in anger?

Su Yu was right. Her First Uncle and Second Uncle both cared for her deeply.

Wang Dong'er lifted her head, her watery eyes looking at Su Yu.

"Have you thought it through?"

"Go on, then!"

Su Yu smiled.

Wang Dong'er stared at Su Yu for a moment before suddenly stepping forward and hugging him.

She planted a quick kiss on his lips, catching him off guard.

"Su Yu, I knew you were the best!"

With that, Wang Dong'er dashed out of the Cold Jade Room.

Su Yu froze for a moment, then touched his lips and chuckled softly.

"Silly girl."

Muttering to himself, Su Yu closed his eyes again and continued meditating.

Earlier, he had used the unique ability of the seventh level of the Supreme Divine Art—Invincible Diamond Body—to clash directly with Tai Tan's Indestructible Vajra Body.

The impact had caused some internal damage, which, though mostly healed, still required careful rest and recovery.

As his soul power flowed, the power of Life Gold was activated to gradually repair the remaining injuries.

...

In the Clear Sky Castle, third floor:

Wang Dong'er burst into a room like a gust of wind.

Inside, Niu Tian sat in the main seat, sipping tea.

Tai Tan slumped in a chair and seemed dejected.

Sensing Wang Dong'er's arrival, both of them looked up in surprise.

"Dong'er, why are you here?"

Niu Tian asked in astonishment.

At this moment, shouldn't Wang Dong'er be accompanying Su Yu?

How could she bear to leave her beloved?

Wang Dong'er gently pinched the hem of her clothes with her jade-like hands and said softly, "I came to check on Second Uncle. Second Uncle, are your injuries okay?"

Niu Tian was even more surprised. "You still remember your Second Uncle?"

"This surprises your First Uncle."

Wang Dong'er's delicate face flushed bright red, and she looked a bit embarrassed.

If it weren't for Su Yu's reminder, she really wouldn't have thought of coming to check on him.

"I came to see if your injuries are serious. I brought some healing medicine."

Wang Dong'er raised a small bottle, her face slightly blushing.

Niu Tian looked at Wang Dong'er thoughtfully.

But Tai Tan didn't overthink it. Seeing Wang Dong'er come to check on him, his mood instantly brightened.

He always knew that their Dong'er wasn't the kind of person who would forget her First and Second Uncles.

"Second Uncle, are you okay?"

Wang Dong'er handed over the healing medicine and asked softly.

Tai Tan grinned, patting his chest boldly, and said, "Second Uncle is fine! I can still fight another round."

"When will Su Yu come to spar with me again? That boy's fighting style suits my taste. I like it!"

Wang Dong'er's delicate face darkened, and most of her concern for Tai Tan instantly dissipated.

Fight, fight, fight. All he thinks about is fighting! Su Yu was injured so badly, and Second Uncle is still thinking about sparring!

Wang Dong'er stuffed the healing medicine into Tai Tan's hands with a stern face. "Su Yu hasn't recovered yet. Second Uncle, can you stop thinking about fighting him?"

"Can't you stop being so rough all the time?"

Tai Tan: ??????

I'm rough?

Before Tai Tan could respond, Wang Dong'er continued, "Second Uncle, I've given you the healing medicine. Since you're fine, Dong'er will leave now. Su Yu needs me."

As soon as she finished speaking, Wang Dong'er left like a gust of wind.

"Hey, Dong'er…"

Tai Tan stretched out his hand, dumbfounded.

Why is Dong'er's temper as fickle as the summer weather?

"You idiot, you're hopeless."

Niu Tian shook his head, his face full of disdain.

This Tai Tan is still so clueless, always saying the worst thing at the worst time.

"But Su Yu is quite something."

Niu Tian muttered to himself. With his wisdom, it wasn't hard to guess who had reminded Wang Dong'er to come.

Given Wang Dong'er's usual lovestruck personality, without someone's reminder, she wouldn't have thought of this.

"Judging by his character, Dong'er won't suffer if she stays with him. But this boy is too flirtatious. I'm afraid some people won't be able to tolerate it."

"I've warned you already. You better watch yourself."

Niu Tian sighed inwardly.

...

Cold Jade Room.

When Su Yu opened his eyes again, it was already evening.

Soul power surged within him, and he felt a sense of relief. The injuries he had sustained were already completely healed.

Sweeping his gaze around the room, he saw a beautiful silhouette.

Wang Dong'er was sitting by the bed, leaning lightly against a chair, already fast asleep.

The sleeping Wang Dong'er looked very serene. Her smooth, fair profile was as delicate as jade, with no visible pores.

Her long eyelashes, like little brushes, were thick and long, casting faint shadows on her cheeks.

Su Yu quietly observed her, his gaze softening, and a faint smile appeared on his lips.

After a while, Wang Dong'er finally woke up. She gently rubbed her sleepy eyes with her right hand and slowly opened them.

As her vision cleared, Su Yu's handsome face came into view.

Wang Dong'er froze for a moment, and the remaining traces of sleepiness disappeared instantly.

"Su Yu, you've recovered?"

Wang Dong'er pounced forward, grabbing Su Yu's arm with excitement written all over her face.

Su Yu raised his hand and gently wiped away a trace of sleep from the corner of Wang Dong'er's eye. He smiled and said, "Yes, I'm fine now. Thank you for staying with me."

"Dong'er doesn't mind. Dong'er loves staying with you."

Wang Dong'er spoke sweetly as she tried to snuggle into Su Yu's arms. Su Yu gently hugged her and kissed her forehead. Wang Dong'er immediately beamed with joy.

The two shared a moment of warmth until a knock at the door interrupted them.

A man in a gray robe stood outside with a food box in hand.

Wang Dong'er's face turned red. She quickly got out of Su Yu's arms and took the food box from the gray-robed man.

It wasn't until the gray-robed man left that the blush on Wang Dong'er's face slowly faded. She carried the food box back into the room.

"It's already evening. Su Yu, let's have dinner together."

As she spoke, Wang Dong'er began taking the food out of the box.

The food from the Clear Sky Clan wasn't particularly refined, but it was substantial.

There was a pot of stewed meat, a bowl of fish soup, a plate of golden tendon-like pieces, and a large platter of steamed buns.

The food wasn't much in variety, but the portions were huge. The stewed meat, in particular, was cut into large chunks, the size of fists.

As expected of the Clear Sky Clan, their meals were as hearty as their reputation.

"It might not be very elegant, but it tastes pretty good. Try it."

Wang Dong'er urged Su Yu.

Su Yu picked up a large steamed bun, tore it in half, and handed half to Wang Dong'er.

The steamed buns were enormous, larger than his palm, and as white as snow. They looked quite appetizing.

Wang Dong'er accepted it with a smile, eagerly piling food onto Su Yu's plate.

Su Yu took a bite of the stewed meat and met Wang Dong'er's expectant gaze.

"How is it?"

"Not bad!"

Su Yu replied casually, taking a bite of the steamed bun. After chewing for a moment, he asked, "By the way, Dong'er, where's your brother, Wang Dong? He's nowhere to be seen."

Wang Dong'er's hand froze mid-air, her expression turning slightly unnatural. She took a sip of soup, her eyes darting upward to the left. "Xiao Dong is training. I'll call him to see you later."

"I see."

Su Yu glanced at Wang Dong'er, a playful smile flickering across his face.

But it lasted only a moment before his expression returned to normal. "Alright, let's eat."

Su Yu ate heartily, while Wang Dong'er seemed distracted, finding the food tasteless.

Back then, when she pretended to be a boy, it was fun. But now, it felt like being stuck on a boat she couldn't get off. It was uncomfortable.

After finishing dinner, Wang Dong'er quickly fled.

About ten minutes later, a boy dressed in a pale moon-colored outfit walked into the Cold Jade Room.

"Su Yu, my sister said you were looking for me?"

Wang Dong'er spoke seriously, trying to act properly.
