Douluo Dalu 1: The Tang Family Rebel

Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Rebellious Thoughts

The decor of the Rose Hotel was instantly charming. The simple yet comfortable color scheme, paired with the faint fragrance of roses that permeated the air, created a soothing ambiance.

On the top floor, at the farthest end of the hallway, Yun Chuan found the room marked "Red Ocean." The top floor housed only a handful of rooms, each with evocative names like Blue Enchantress, Pink Tenderness, Yellow Sincerity, White Purity, and Green Farewell. At the very end lay the most intriguing of all—Red Ocean.

The door, true to its name, was painted a deep red. It featured a striking dark red crystal rose as a decoration, alongside a vertical inscription: Red Ocean, the Sea of Love.

The last time Yun Chuan stayed here, he had only booked a standard room, so this top-tier suite piqued his curiosity. If his memory served him correctly, this was the very suite where Tang San and his group had stayed in the original story.

"Tsk, kids these days, staying in couple-themed suites at such a young age. Society's really going downhill," Yun Chuan muttered, shaking his head as he lamented the changing times.

[T/N: Bro you are also a Kid]

He unlocked the door with the key and stepped inside. The suite was vast, with the living room alone spanning over fifty square meters. The furnishings were all silver, intricately carved with delicate floral patterns. The deep red carpet was adorned with raised rose designs that added texture and elegance.

What surprised Yun Chuan the most, however, was the giant heart made of roses in the center of the living room. The heart, measuring nearly two square meters, was composed of over a thousand roses. Hanging from it was a slender ribbon bearing the inscription: A thousand and one roses, you're my one and only.

Apart from this elaborate heart, vases filled with vibrant red roses were placed in every corner of the room. The rich floral fragrance filled the suite, creating an atmosphere so enchanting it was almost intoxicating.

"Heh, that Dai Mubai really knows how to enjoy himself," Yun Chuan remarked as he looked around. "In hindsight, maybe I didn't hit him hard enough earlier." But then he smirked. During the healing process earlier, he had made a minor adjustment to Dai Mubai's body.

It wasn't much—just a little modification to his kidneys so that he would lose interest in women.

"After all, how can someone devoted to carnal pleasures focus on cultivation? As a teacher, it's my duty to guide my students away from bad habits." Yun Chuan nodded in self-satisfaction, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "Little Dai, no need to thank me. This is what a responsible teacher does for their students."

With a nonchalant wave, Yun Chuan shut the door behind him and leisurely explored the suite. His curiosity led him to the bedroom, where he was once again taken aback.

As expected, there was only one bed in the room, but it was enormous, occupying nearly half the space—and it was heart-shaped.

Delicate pink drapes descended from the ceiling, enclosing the heart-shaped bed in an ethereal veil. The bed was adorned with rose-patterned sheets and pillows, and the entire room radiated a romantic ambiance, stirring even the steadiest of hearts.

"Hmm, staying in a room like this alone feels a bit… lonely," Yun Chuan mused, stroking his still-smooth chin. "It'd be better with some company." As he spoke, unbidden images of Qian Renxue and Hu Liena floated into his mind, causing a sudden flutter of restlessness in his chest.

"Ah… it seems I've reached that age," he muttered, scratching his head.

He regretted taking this room now. Sleeping alone in a place steeped in such suggestive undertones felt more like torture than luxury.

Unable to stop his mind from wandering, Yun Chuan sighed. "I hope I don't end up having… dreams tonight." Shaking his head to dispel the thoughts, he grabbed fresh clothes from his storage ring and headed for the bathroom.

The night passed uneventfully.

The next morning, Yun Chuan woke up in the soft embrace of the heart-shaped bed. As his consciousness returned, fragments of a dream from the previous night surfaced in his mind.

Perhaps influenced by his surroundings, the dream had been… colorful. Worse, it featured numerous female protagonists, including one person he should never have dreamt about.

The realization made Yun Chuan's cheeks burn with embarrassment as he buried his face in the pillows.

"Having that kind of dream is normal, right? I mean, I'm at that age now." He tried to rationalize his experience. After all, a 12-year-old soul master's body developed faster than an average person's. At this age, it was equivalent to being 15 or 16, so having such dreams was entirely logical.

But what truly mortified Yun Chuan wasn't the dream itself or even his body's reaction upon waking—it was the identity of that one person in the dream. It made him question his own morality and values.

"I can't believe… I actually thought of her…" His hands clutched his face in horror. "What kind of shameless person am I?!"

He rolled around on the bed, trying to shake off the shame. For a long time, he struggled with his thoughts until the worst of his embarrassment subsided.

Finally, Yun Chuan got out of bed, his steps slightly unsteady as he headed to the bathroom. He needed a shower to wash away not just the night's lingering effects but also the overwhelming sense of guilt.

Twelve years old—an age when a boy's thoughts start to stray. Yun Chuan consoled himself repeatedly.

"This is normal. Every man goes through this stage."

Even so, the thought of her refused to leave his mind, much to his frustration. He felt like his moral compass had been flipped upside down, teetering on the edge of collapse.

"No, no! She's… How could I have such rebellious thoughts?!" Yun Chuan slapped his cheeks, trying to snap himself out of it. "Forget it! Forget it now!"

"Deep breaths…" He inhaled and exhaled deeply, attempting to calm himself. To further distract his mind, he began silently reciting the core values from his past life: Prosperity, Democracy, Civility, Harmony; Freedom, Equality, Justice, Rule of Law; Patriotism, Dedication, Integrity, Friendship!

With each word, he visualized the values forming a sacred sword, cutting down the inappropriate thoughts plaguing him. Bit by bit, his mind cleared, and the unsettling images faded.

After a long while, Yun Chuan opened his eyes. His gaze was calm once more, his inner turmoil momentarily quelled. The mantra had worked. He forced himself to stop dwelling on the subject, fearing that any deeper reflection would destroy his worldview entirely.

"Enough. Time to move on."
