Chapter 240: Chapter 239: Cream and Lolis—a Perfect Pair

Do you know what "contrast beauty" is?

The Ice Empress embodied it perfectly. From head to toe, her existence radiated the allure of stark contrasts.

She was a loli, while the Snow Empress was a mature goddess. No wonder, back in the day, with few men in sight, the Ice Empress had such a strong attachment to the Snow Empress.

A loli like the Ice Empress, brimming with this much contrast, would easily fit into an anime world. There, she'd either be a brother-obsessed "brocon" or a sister-devoted "siscon." Qianran was relieved, though—thankfully, the Ice Empress was just a normal loli, not a yandere. He wouldn't have stood a chance against a yandere!

"What do you want this time, you scoundrel?" the Ice Empress asked, her tone almost accusatory, as if she already knew the answer.

It wasn't difficult to guess—Qianran had felt guilty for neglecting her lately. Now, calling her out to "work" meant he had to compensate her generously. And by generously, he meant on a scale of billions. That was Qianran's style—he either went all in or not at all.

"I missed you, of course!" Qianran said with a cheeky grin, stepping forward to scoop the petite Ice Empress into his arms.

The Ice Empress's emerald-green twin-tails bobbed with her movement, making her look impossibly adorable.

For Qianran, twin-tails were an ultimate weakness. Every time he saw them, he couldn't help but want to grab and play with them.

"Missed me? And what were you just doing?" the Ice Empress huffed, her voice dripping with disdain.

Humans—so insincere!

"Be that as it may, missing you is the truth." Qianran's tone turned serious. After witnessing her unparalleled grace in battle—defeating Dai Hao with a single blow—he couldn't deny the growing affection he felt for her.

The Ice Empress, so powerful and untouchable, became soft and endearing in his arms. That transformation was exactly what Qianran cherished.

"Humph," the Ice Empress pouted, crossing her arms. But Qianran didn't care; he wrapped her up in his embrace anyway.

Qianran then pulled out a white sailor outfit and helped her change into it. He tied her green twin-tails with matching white ribbons and slipped a pair of sheer white thigh-high stockings onto her legs.

In an instant, the Ice Empress transformed into the picture-perfect image of a petite anime sister. She looked like a slightly modified version of Kotori Itsuka from Date A Live, except her twin-tails were green instead of red.

Qianran even produced a lollipop from his pocket, which the Ice Empress unwrapped and popped into her mouth.

Her face flushed pink as she chewed on the candy. Despite herself, she felt embarrassed. Being dressed up like a child made her feel utterly humiliated, though she couldn't deny a certain warmth in her chest.

She was the mighty Ice Empress, for heaven's sake—not some little girl who couldn't dress herself!

But for some reason, Qianran seemed to find immense joy in picking out her clothes, stockings, and hairstyles. It was beyond bizarre.

"Pervert!"

"Total pervert!"

"Qianran is the ultimate pervert!"

Her blush deepened, and she turned her head away, unable to meet Qianran's gaze.

"You're too cute for words, Little Bing Bing," Qianran teased.

Seeing her blushing face, filled with a mix of pride, shyness, and indignation, was simply irresistible. She was the epitome of a loli, and Qianran couldn't help but feel like the luckiest man alive.

If such perfection existed in his previous world, it would've driven loli enthusiasts absolutely mad.

"Hmph! Just hurry up and do whatever it is you called me for. Otherwise, I'm leaving!" The Ice Empress feigned nonchalance, her voice tinged with defiance.

Qianran grinned, pulling out a canister of whipped cream from his storage soul tool.

Everyone knows it—cream and lolis make the perfect combination!

Cream, twin-tails, a sailor outfit, sheer white stockings, and a supreme loli. When these five elements come together, there's nothing on Earth that can rival their allure.

By the time Qianran woke up the next morning, the Ice Empress was already up and about.

From his storage soul tool, she had retrieved a slice of cream cake and was happily munching away.

The Ice Empress had a notorious sweet tooth, and with her impossible-to-gain-weight physique, she could indulge as much as she wanted. As a soul beast, she didn't need to worry about trivial matters like calories.

In stark contrast, Wang Dong'er, Xiao Xiao, and the other girls were always mindful of their figures. They meticulously controlled their diets, terrified of putting on even a single pound. Qianran didn't mind if they gained a little weight—sometimes he wondered if they were all suffering from body image anxiety.

"Don't you need to rest?" Qianran asked, surprised. Usually, the girls slept long after he woke up, but the Ice Empress was clearly an exception.

"Hmph. Do you really think you're strong enough to wear me out?"

The Ice Empress shot him a frosty look, her aloof demeanor fully restored.

Qianran raised an eyebrow. Her ability to switch personalities was something else. She had a "tough after the fact" vibe that he couldn't help but find amusing.

But she wasn't wrong—being the Ice Jade Empress Scorpion, she was practically indestructible.

"I'm leaving," the Ice Empress said, her tone as cold as ever.

Before she left, Qianran pulled her close, kissing away the remnants of cream from her lips. Satisfied, he let her go.

By the time dawn broke, the Shrek Academy team was already assembled and preparing to enter the Ming Dou Mountain Range.

Dai Hao didn't show up, likely still fuming from yesterday. He probably didn't dare risk seeing another scene that might push him over the edge again.

The girls, however, couldn't stop sneaking glances at Qianran and Zhu Lu. Clearly, last night's events were still fresh on their minds. For Dong'er and the others, it was just another day in Qianran's world, but Ma Xiaotao and Ling Luochen's reactions were more telling—their quickened heartbeats betrayed their embarrassment.

It didn't take long for the group to locate the lair of the Hand of Death.

"They should be at the base of that slope. If I'm not mistaken, there's a cave down there. Once we confirm their identities, the rest is up to you," Wang Yan instructed. "The reserve team and I will stay back to provide support. Xiaotao, Qianran, you'll lead the charge."

"No problem. Leave it to us," Ma Xiaotao said, her pink eyes already alight with the thrill of battle.

As they approached the cave, a series of muffled explosions and chaotic shouts erupted from within. The stench of blood filled the air.

Inside, they found corpses strewn about. Qianran frowned.

The fight began in earnest, with the inner court disciples quickly dispatching several Soul Kings. It was almost too easy.

But as they ventured deeper, the ominous voice of a dark soul master echoed through the cavern. The corpses began to swell and redden, a clear sign of impending corpse explosions.

Qianran immediately unleashed his martial soul. Holy, radiant energy spread outward, purifying the dark energy in the surrounding corpses and neutralizing the explosions.

But those near Dai Yaoheng? Qianran didn't bother intervening.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

A series of deafening explosions rocked the cavern. Blood and gore sprayed everywhere, accompanied by Dai Yaoheng's agonized screams.

The surviving disciples were too shaken to care about Dai Yaoheng's fate. Instead, they looked at Qianran with awe and gratitude, recognizing that he had just saved their lives.

As for Dai Yaoheng?

No one seemed particularly concerned.
