Douluo : Capture the goddess starting from peerless tang sect

Chapter 14: Chapter 13: Provocation? Defeated in One Move

"Today is a class day, hurry up so you don't get late." Wang Dong'er blushed as she pulled Qian Ran's hand, running toward the exit. Ever since Qian Ran had subdued her last time, Wang Dong'er felt a strange, lingering emotion toward him.

These past few days, she noticed Qian Ran going out alone, returning with a faint scent of another girl, which made her secretly angry.

Every evening when Qian Ran returned, Wang Dong'er would wear a cold expression. Still, she would diligently clean the dormitory, wash his clothes, and even buy food for him.

When Qian Ran and Wang Dong'er arrived in the classroom, it was already full. They found a spot near the back and sat down.

A person entered at the doorway—a middle-aged woman with wrinkled skin, her graying hair pulled into a bun atop her head. She wore a white robe and had a medium build, with piercing black eyes that seemed to shine.

Qian Ran had been assigned to Class 1 of the first-year students, with this woman, Zhou Yi, as the homeroom teacher.

Their class was quite impressive; the academy had intentionally grouped the more talented students under Zhou Yi's strict teaching. Graduating from her class meant that around thirty percent would make it into the inner courtyard—a remarkable rate, considering even a talent like Tang Ya struggled with the entrance exam and wouldn't have gotten in without Qian Ran's help.

The girls in this class were very pretty, though none quite on the level of Tang Ya or Wang Dong'er. Overall, they were a high-quality cohort.

Let's see…

There was Xiao Xiao, a twin martial soul master with the martial souls Sansheng Zhenhun Cauldron and Jiufeng Laiyi Flute.

Then Ning Tian, heir to the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, also a lovely girl. Initially, she had a crush on the cross-dressing Wang Dong'er, but eventually, she couldn't handle the fact that Wang Dong'er was a girl. In the Valley of Love Trials, Ning Tian turned into a man.

There was also Wu Feng, with the Red Dragon martial soul, a member of the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. She was likely Ning Tian's companion and protector, eventually falling in love with her as a woman. Later, after Ning Tian became male, they lived happily together. But if Ning Tian turned male, wouldn't that mean Wu Feng would now be with him in a…competitive way?

And Zhu Lu from the Zhu family. Yes, the same Zhu family as Zhu Zhuqing, famous for her early and well-endowed figure. Zhu Zhuqing and her sister Zhu Zhuyun were known for their striking development. A twelve-year-old with that kind of figure was rare; who knows if the Zhu family's traits have persisted over ten thousand years.

Besides Zhu Lu, there was Dai Huabin. The messy relationship between Zhu Zhuqing and Dai Mubai suggested that Zhu Lu and Dai Huabin were also engaged since childhood. Dai Huabin was also the spoiled son who caused the death of Huo Yuhao's mother, Huo Yun'er—a beautiful woman who was undeservingly hurt.

To think that these clans had survived ten thousand years was impressive.

The titled Douluo of Spirit Hall mostly didn't come from prominent families; those families saw Spirit Hall as rivals. Spirit Hall fostered many powerful commoners back in the day.

With just a glance at the new students, Qian Ran knew how difficult it was for commoners in this world. The pathway to advancement was entirely blocked. On the surface, Shrek Academy claimed not to consider family backgrounds in admissions, but without resources, a commoner couldn't possibly meet Shrek's high standards. Most students at Shrek Academy had at least some family backing.

However, people like Zhu Lu and Ning Tian weren't in Class 1, so he probably wouldn't see them for now.

Zhou Yi scanned the class with a commanding gaze, creating a sense of immense pressure.

"Everyone, stand up."

"Qian Ran, come with me. The rest of you, run a hundred laps around the track. Anyone who doesn't finish will be expelled."

Zhou Yi spoke coldly, but her gaze softened slightly as she looked at Qian Ran.

"That's not fair! Why doesn't he have to run?" a student stood up, clearly disgruntled.

"Not fair? Because his strength is superior to yours, he deserves special privileges. However, if you manage to defeat him, those privileges will be yours instead," Zhou Yi said with a smirk.

"What if I beat him?" the student continued to protest. New Shrek students tended to have an inexplicable confidence in their abilities, as they were all considered geniuses before coming to the academy.

With that, he immediately released his martial soul.

Two soul rings appeared, revealing his rank of twenty-nine, which was relatively strong within Class 1. His martial soul was a white wolf, a solid ability, though Qian Ran didn't recognize him from the original story—likely just a background character.

"If you're going to fight, take it outside. This isn't a place for fighting," Zhou Yi stated coldly.

"Teacher Zhou, it's alright. Let's settle it here. I won't damage the classroom. Dealing with him will only take a second," Qian Ran said. He had no patience for those who provoked him.

Qian Ran's calm voice stunned everyone. Was he really this confident?

Zhou Yi also paused. She knew Qian Ran's strength, but unless he could defeat his opponent instantly, any damage to the classroom would lead to punishment, or even expulsion. Though with his talent, expulsion was unlikely.

"Is he overestimating himself?"

"Taking down someone close to the rank of Soul Elder instantly? Impossible."

Zhou Yi shook her head, feeling somewhat disappointed.

"You can go first," Qian Ran said to the challenger indifferently.

"If you say so, I won't hold back. Remember my name—White Wolf." With his White Wolf martial soul activated, he lunged at Qian Ran.

"Fall!"

Qian Ran stood still, smiling slightly.

Only a few people who were closely observing him noticed a glint of golden light flash in his black eyes.

The golden light vanished as quickly as it appeared, seen only by a few who were watching intently, including Wang Dong'er and Xiao Xiao.

In that moment, White Wolf felt a searing pain in his head.

His face twisted in agony.

"Ah!"

White Wolf screamed, collapsing onto the ground.

"It hurts!" White Wolf clutched his head, feeling as though it were about to split open.

Everyone was taken aback by the sudden turn of events. What had happened to White Wolf? Why had he suddenly fallen?

"You've lost!"

Qian Ran walked up to White Wolf and kicked him aside.

With his current level of spiritual power, a mental attack was more than enough to handle opponents like these. In fact, anyone below the rank of Soul King would find it hard to even touch him if he so desired.
