Double Jade's fate

The emperor after court adjourned he walk to his office. However the dowager's eunuch have relay that the dowager is seeking his present. He sigh and feels delight. It is many years that his mother ask for him. After Xian Wen disappear, he have to take time to visit his mother. It has been days his last visit it is time to show his mother his face. 

He walk into her quarter and bow to her immediately upon seeing her. She pat the seat beside her. Obeying her, he walk over and sit down. As they talk and slip their tea, she ask what he is planing to do with the empress. 

"What else mother, keep her inside there."

"You can't keep her forever."

"I can mother. No one will contest to that. Not even the prime minister."

"She is still a human. She is still your wife but what about Shung Yu? Aren't you going to make her the empress?"

"Shung Yu is not that type that wants a position as an empress. She is happy where she is now. As long as Long'er is healthy and growing up well enough there is nothing more important that it."

"Are you content with only a son?"

He pause when he is about to drink his tea. He put the cup down and look at his mother."Are you asking for another child?"

"If you can. You have to find time to make another child. We cannot depend on one child. We need more. When your father is alive, the others concubine had sons too. Unfortunately those boys did not survive to their infancy. Only two of you are here today. Now this throne is your's, you have more responsibility to have more children. Take in more women if you must. Stop going to the cold palace and waste time there. She won't give you what you need. I can deal with her..."

"Mother i know what to do. You do not need to do anything for me. I need to keep her in there alive. As long she is alive, her father will obey me."

The dowager put down her cup and look at her son. 

"I know you both have spend most of your lives together. It is normal that you don't wish to let her go. Sometimes we have to let our regrets go because there is many people depending on you to live another day. "

"As i said mother, i know what i am doing. Don't worry. She won't cause any trouble so will i. Shung Yu will do her duty as a mother, that's all. Maybe in future i will make her the empress. For now she will remain as the noble consort. Mother i should go now. I need to go read up the reports submitted. I will come with Long'er some other day. Mother please take care. I bid my leave now."

He bow and walk away with steam coming out from him. The dowager smile and play with her tea cup. 

"That son of mine, thinks that i don't know what he is thinking." 

The emperor spend his time reading up the submitted reports. 

"Why is this endless??? How many more?!"

"Respond to your majestic, there is another thirty more reports after you finish this set of twenty." The eunuch quickly shut his mouth when he see the emperor is about to blow his top. Just then a few palace maids walk in with desserts and hot tea for him, he cheer up after he knows it is Shung Yu have arrange these dessert for him.

After dinner with Shing Yu and Seeing Long'er. He excuse himself and go to the cold palace. Inside, he find that she have just finish her dinner. He sit beside her quietly. "How is dinner did you enjoy?"

"My mother and Shung Yu fuss about me. It's rather troublesome."

"Then you should stay with them. Not here."

She wipe her lips and walk off. He gets up and follow her.

"Do you want some dessert? I can ask them to deliver some for you."

She turn around and look at him.

"What is the price for the dessert?"

"Simple. Make me happy tonight."

"How do i make you happy? You already have everything. You are already the emperor. You have the control over my life and death."

She walk away and sit on her bed. She reach out for a book and open to read it. He walk to her bed and sit besides her.

"Do you want to know what happen to your sister?"

Both of them did not move after that word is said. Her eyes is staring at the Chinese character in front of her face. While he is staring at her face waiting and watching what he expect her to say.

"So say it. I am waiting. I know you bound to mentioned Chun Gui. Tell me what had happen to her."

"Then act like a paper wife. Act like you are in love with me, even though it's fake, i am wiling to accept it. When i am happy and satisfy with it, i will tell you what has happen to her." He smile while she continue to stare at her book. Her mind is full of curiosity what had happen to her little sister. She smile and circle her arm around his arm. "You promise?"

"Hmm..." He nod his head. 

"Tell me what kind of wife you like?"

"You know me, Chun Feng. I like obedience."

For the next few days, she acted like a wife to welcome the husband home. When he leaves, she bid him farewell. This goes on for seven days when she can't hold back her anger as she feel that he is playing with her. She decided that he won't tell her anything thus she sit at her usual spot reading her book and ignore him. The emperor stroll in and watch his wife laying there reading her book. He knows she is now mad at him. He smile and walk up to her slowly and sit down next to her. He touch her feet as usual, even her feet is icy like her attitude.
