Chapter 794: Lanci and Talia's Daily Review_3
Lanci straightforwardly voiced his doubt.
"?"
"I, I got a bit heavier, but there's no problem at all! I was just too skinny when I was a refugee before! The weight I've gained has all gone to the right places!!"
Talia said to him with an excited and trembling voice.
If she wore Lan Fu's skirt and school uniform, perhaps Lanci would have a more direct impression, but of course in the winter attire of the Cerryti Empire, he couldn't tell.
"..."
Lanci was also rendered speechless by Talia's sudden outburst.
"You, you should focus on how to advance to the Seventh-order instead!"
Talia changed the subject.
There was a necessary prerequisite for Lanci to advance to the Seventh-order; he needed a promotion token that was close to his attributes.
"Master, I can only request your assistance."
Lanci immediately said.
Originally, it was Talia who taught him the knowledge regarding the inscription of ranks, and she also helped him select materials.
At present, returning to the modern world within the Cerryti Empire, he might be able to obtain a main token of Pink Holy quality, but it wouldn't necessarily guarantee the most suitable Sealed-attribute for him.
"Hmph, I will of course help you."
Talia replied proudly.
Indeed, her little apprentice couldn't do without her now.
When faced with troublesome matters, they all needed to rely on her.
As they walked further, the light and shadow of the Inverted Corridor Mirror changed accordingly, sometimes focusing, sometimes dispersing, with each step presenting a new scene, and arches and alcoves appearing intermittently on both sides.
Every prism mirror that Lanci and Tamisha passed reflected the figures of Phantom Demons and Night Demons, big and small.
No prism on either side of the corridor was ever repeated, and the ground became increasingly steep.
With a subtle sense of ascent and descent, a series of steps inset with Demon Crystals appeared. After climbing all the stairs and passing through the winding passages, the noise from the outside world was completely extinguished, and the scene before them suddenly cleared.
A Forbidden Gate, over ten meters high, stood before them.
"We're here."
Tamisha pointed towards the gate.
The gate, forged from Ancient Forbidden Demon Steel, was covered with Curse Marks of a Ninth-order Barrier; under normal circumstances, it would be impossible to break through by force.
"Thank you, are you going to change back into a little cat?"
Lanci squatted down and asked Tamisha.
He wasn't sure if Tamisha wanted to show her true form.
He respected every child's own preferences and ideas.
"Do you think I should change?"
Tamisha hesitated for a moment but still asked.
"It's up to you, in my eyes you are Tamisha, no matter what you look like, nothing will change."
Lanci answered with a smile.
"..."
Tamisha pondered for a few seconds,
"Then I won't change into a cat."
She decided.
Maintaining her original appearance, Tamisha led Lanci forward another two steps and in the moment they reached the door,
the glow on the gate suddenly intensified.
Countless gear-shaped patterns whirled and danced in mid-air, eventually turning into dazzling stardust, dissipating into the dense darkness.
Through the Inverted Corridor Mirror, a secret passage connecting the Central Energy Room and the base of the Purgatory Corridor, Lanci and Tamisha returned to the familiar interior of the academy, where everything was no longer so dazzling.
"Wow, doesn't that mean Hyperion and the others will see you've brought back a very cute child?"
Talia whispered to Lanci.
Tamisha, who had always appeared as a grey kitten, had only revealed her true appearance to Lanci that day, even Hyperion, who had brought her all the way from Demon King Castle Necaris to Purgatory City Pasqual, hadn't seen it.
"They should recognize her as Tamisha pretty quickly."
Lanci glanced at the grey-haired little girl and responded in thought.
"Not necessarily, just like if one day you turned from a human into a cat, the friends around you might not be able to recognize you, the same is true for a cat turning into a human; the difference is too big."
If Talia weren't sharing Lanci's vision, she wouldn't have guessed that the adorable Demon Race child was the same grey kitten.
"No worries, this child looks like you, not like me, there won't be any misunderstanding."
Lanci replied calmly.
"That's not it, your words sound like..."
Talia didn't know how to point out what was wrong with Lanci's phrasing.
