Chapter 99 – Shopping
Guren traced the chain of fate between Sarada's soul and her body. Usually, the humans didn't have these things back in the time, but when the Afterlife's of the Two Universes Merged. It started changing the natural laws of the Physical World to a certain extent. These chains and changes in Soul Physiology were some of the changes.
"Sarada! Guren! What happened to Sarada?!" Sakura worriedly held Sarada's body when Karin reassured her, "Don't worry. She's right there; her soul is just out of her body."
"Right, here," Guren took out a scroll, summoning Soul Seeing Glasses, giving it to Sakura.
Sakura put on the glasses, its frame lit up, letting her look at Sarada's soul and the chain of fate, seeing her confused expression, "Sarada."
"Mom," Sarada tried to hug Sakura, but her body passed through Sarada, "Right...you are a soul..."
"Guren...am I dead?" Sarada fearfully asked.
Karin took out her sword, putting it on the chain, "No, but if this chain is cut, then you will die. As long as the chain is connecting your soul to your body, and you are still alive."
""Then keep that katana away from the chain!!"" Both Sakura and Sarada simultaneously screamed at her, making Karin step back, laughingly, "Right..."
Guren squatted beside Sarada, cupping her cheek. It made her calm down as she felt the warmth of his arm, "This is just an experiment, but are you having trouble breathing...?"
"Huh...? Yeah..."
"That's because there isn't enough spiritual energy in the air to allow you to breathe. Now, I can try to kill you when you are like this, and if you survive long enough, you will gain the ability to interact with soul energy."
"If I don't...?"
"You die."
Sarada gulped, making a fist in front of her chest, looking down, "I..."
She breathed in, looking up with resolve in her eyes, "I'll do it!"
"No, Sarada! Wait!" Sakura tried to talk her out of it when Guren took Sakura's hand, taking her to the side, whispering in her ear.
Sarada's eyes darted between the two, seeing Sakura nod, again and again, coming back. She sat down in front of Sarada narrowing her eyes, "If you have decided to do this, Sarada, then let's do this. Before Chunin exams begin, I'll make sure to try and not kill you."
"What? Mom!"
Sakura smiled, with a dangerous smile on her lips, rubbing her wrist, "Let's go do this, shall we?"
"Wait, you can't even touch me!" Sarada calmed down when Guren took out the white gloves that he gave to Sakura, "These are gloves that have been infused with Spiritual Energy. Made from a mixture of Physical and Spiritual Particles. So anyone can wear them and touch Souls. Once I gained these eyes."
He grinned as Sarada cowered, making a peace sign, "Once I gained these eyes, I made full use of their powers and lab."
"Of course you did..." Sarada's lips twitched when Guren stood up, "Karin, you can handle things, right?"
"Where are you going?" The three of them stopped looking at him.
Guren tried to stretch his insanely tight clothes, "I have grown a bit, so I am going to buy new clothes."
The three of them froze, exchanging a glace, "We can do this other time, right?"
Sakura nodded, "Yes, buying clothes is more important."
Karin nodded, acting seriously, "I don't like buying clothes and all, but it's important for Guren, so I will be the eyes to see how good they look."
Guren started chuckling, "Ok, ok, fine. Let's see, I have thought of something like a new fashion statement. I learned a lot from Orochimaru."
Sakura's mouth twitched, "I am starting to dread what you learned from that guy, but ok. We'll see, and after that, we'll try new clothes."
"Sure, sure, you are paying Mom."
"Right," Sakura's shoulders slumped, "I almost forgot..."
Konoha's Road,
Guren walked with a bounce in his steps, enjoying the shopping, with Sakura, Sarada, and Karin carrying many clothes. But the three of them were so happy that they almost seemed to be drooling.
"Yo, Guren, you are back," Shikadai, Inojin, and Chocho were walking past them as they noticed and waved their hands.
"Hey, I am back," Guren chuckled, waving his hand, smiling towards them.
"Guren! Did you miss me? You must have missed me so much that you came back early, right?" Chocho waved her hands at him.
Guren chuckled, "Of course I did; I missed all you guys so much."
Inojin and Shikadai looked away, blushing, before Inojin spoke, sighing, "That's why I don't like you."
Shikadai looked towards the dazed three following Guren, "What happened to them?"
"Sa...who knows?" Guren shrugged, "I'll see you guys during the Chunin exam. I look forward to fighting you."
"Yeah," Shikadai looked back towards Guren, this time looking towards his face when his departing footsteps came to a halt, "Hm, your eye...what happened to them?"
"Right! You noticed too, right! I was wondering if I was the only one that thought his eyes were black," Chocho slammed her fist on her palm, crushing the chips.
Guren just waved his hands, walking away, "During the Chunin exam, Shikadai. Let it be a surprise."
"Hmm," Shikadai watched him walk away, rubbing the back of his head, "This is such a drag. He seems to have awakened that eye of his."
"But that eye only works against things like sedatives and poison, right? What could it do in a fight?"
"If that's all it works on..."
Guren looked over his shoulder, smiling, "Shall we go home?"
"""Yeah..."""
The three of them replied, seemingly spellbound, making Guren scratch his cheek, "I am glad you like it...but this is too much."
