Chapter 106 – Lightning Release?
"Seriously? Even today, you are eating a burger?" Guren held a place with burger wraps and fries, standing on Boruto and Sarada's table, making Sarada shift it down.
"You are eating the same thing," Boruto shifted to the corner of the bench, letting Yuzu and Karin sit.
Sarada curled her lips, "Did you have to go about humiliating everyone while registering for Chunin Exam?"
"Right, that was too rude!" Boruto complained.
Guren sighed, "Oh, you innocent Genins, it was a power play. I am weak, and there is one that I can't defeat and others with Jutsu's that I have no idea about. Now, they would be the ones on edge to avoid me and make mistakes. In short, it makes my life much easier."
"That's so sneaky," Karin blinked, "Were you always like this?"
"No," Guren chuckled, "I was very honorable, but honor only matters when you are strong. When you are weak...you have to use everything in and out of the book to win."
Boruto looked towards his right hand, feeling the gauntlet, the ninja tool on his wrist, when Guren spoke again, "But there are limits to that thought. In a place like the Chunin exam, everyone puts their honor on the line, does their best, puts all their hopes and dreams, and fights to win. If you use unfair means...then you are trampling all over that. I might be using all the tools under my belt to their max...that means I am just giving it my all and acknowledging them, but if you guys cheat, then that's a different story."
"Who would cheat," Sarada rolled her eyes, "No one is that dense or stupid that they'd cheat under the gaze of Five Kages, the Cameras, and everyone. That would be the same as making the enemy out of everyone and becoming an outcast."
"Hmm," Guren patted her head, "I am glad you understand; Sarada is so smart."
"Karin! Karin! What's wrong with you!"
Karin trembled, hugging herself, "Kages...Camera's...the whole world...will see me fight..."
"Ops."
"Hey, if it isn't the Son of Seventh Hokage."
Boruto frowned, looking up, seeing the Yurui, the guy chewing gum walk over. But their team barely stood there for a moment when they acted as if they had seen a ghost.
"You want something," Guren innocently blinked, and the three dropped their plates, standing in attention, shaking their heads crazily.
Guren raised his legs to make sure they didn't get dirty, "I see. Can you clean this and go? You are making me lose my appetite."
"Yes!!!" The three saluted to him, taking off their jackets, wiping the mess, picking it up, and running out of the restaurant.
"Uhhh...what just happened?" Boruto watched the whole scene with his jaw hanging, and he wasn't the only one.
Guren raised his finger, "See, it works."
Outside,
Team Yurui was on their knees when Yurui got on his feet, cupping his cheeks, blushing, "She talked to me!"
"She ordered us!"
"She acknowledged our existence!"
Mitsuki tilted his head, walking past the Team Yurui, entering the burger joint. He searched around to see five people sitting in the booth of four.
"Oh, Mitsuki, you are here!" Boruto waved his hand as Guren shifted for Mitsuki, patting on the bench.
"Sorry I am late, something...do you know something is happening outside?"
"Outside? What?"
Mitsuki thought for a moment, smiling, "No, nothing."
Suddenly, Guren looked up, drinking from the straw. Seeing the boy with iron filling coat stand over their table, staring at him, "I am Shiki, the adopted son of Fifth Kazekage."
"Ah," Guren waved his hand, "I don't have a fancy father like that. I mean, he just saved the world and is called Supporting Shadow and all, but yeah. I am his son, Uchiha Guren."
"Ughh...do you have to be like that?" Sarada covered her face, but the look on Shiki's face didn't falter.
"Using the Genjutsu the moment you got chance, even after that playing the mind games to make sure your opponent is off a step. You are the only one I have met so far whom I can acknowledge as a Shinobi. But those things will only get you so far. We'll see who is stronger on the battlefield."
"Hmm," Guren leaned forward on the table, placing his elbow, supporting his cheek. His eyes watched the iron fillings that he controlled, 'Without a strong thunder style...I can't win. If only I had a good reason for knowing a strong thunder style Jutsu...maybe I should ask Sasuke to teach me?'
The thought barely crossed his mind when the view in his eyes started moving forward. Until the whole cosmos reflected in his eyes and a transparent black tomoe appeared in it.
But he wasn't the only one whose eyes were activating uncontrollably, so was Boruto's, lightning striking in front of them, and everything around them started to change.
"Raikiri!"
Guren moved his eyes towards the left, seeing a 12-year-old Kakashi used Raikiri.
"Chidori!"
"Purple Lightning!"
"Chidori Spear!"
"Chidori Stream!"
Guren glanced around, seeing the walls of shops come apart, the land around them being replaced with scenes of war, forests, training grounds. From Kakashi to Sasuke at different ages, moving to even Third and Fourth Raikage.
Just when they thought it couldn't be crazier, the sky changed with the land, showing the view of Fourth Ninja War, Naruto and Sasuke using combined Jutsu's. Jutsu's they used, the ones they didn't.
"Takamikazuchi!"
"Liger Bomb!"
"Hinokagutsuchi!"
"Hm," Guren's eyes widened for a moment, seeing Indra use something similar to Amaterasu in conjunction with lightning and Asura using Amenomihashira.
"What the hell?"
"I should be the one asking that!" Boruto screamed at him, but Guren raised his hand, "Shut it!'
"Kirin!"
"Lightning Swift Rasengan!"
"That's Sarada and me!"
Guren moved his eyes to see the combo they landed, narrowing his Sharingan that was still analyzing the moves.
Guren wasn't sure how many Ninjutsu's he saw, 180, 200, maybe a thousand. Still, it all abruptly disappeared, and he found himself sitting in the booth as if nothing had happened.
"What in the world was that?!" Boruto jumped on his feet, looking around, only to find nothing.
"What happened to you?" Karin looked up, raising her eyebrows.
"You mean you didn't see that?!"
"See what? Boruto?" Mitsuki asked.
"You saw that, right! Guren?"
"I did," Guren stared at the table when a third voice chimed in with them, "I saw it too. You two, with me."
"Lord Sasuke!!!"
